I just figured out how to use the transparency tool in the art program I use and now I'm redoing almost everything I have done in the last 2 months.
introducing our player character:
as you can see, it is very easy to tell that it's the player character. it even has "PLAYER" written on it. it also helpfully show what is and isn't the hitbox!
lore: this thing appeared some day for some reason and started killing monsters for no reason because that makes the best stories. it then started killing NPCs but that doesn't matter because they aren't alive in the first place. it then broke into reality and is attempting to find your exact coordinates.
i decided to start remaking the trailer because yes.
i'm also currently planning on releasing the game on Monday, February 26.
new enemy attack: punishment curse
walking into a cursed tile will do one of the following things:
take away 1-3 potions
inflict the player with the poison debuff
spawn extra minions
give the player a 10 turn string cooldown
take away 1/15 of the player's arrows
the punishments will be more severe on hard mode.
I made some concept art for the player character:
i decided to slightly change the pages:
i also fixed the background for the main menu
before:
After:
i also made gates for the fourth boss, which will transition to the next and final act:
i also made a itch.io page for the game, the link is https://fcddesgames.itch.io/secrets-of-heraby
...and that is all for this devlog!
i decided to use Monogame for the prototype of the new project.
this is my progress so far:
i have a feeling that this game will be very well optimized...
i make games. check out http://freeve4hserver.ddns.net
