I have been writing and rewriting and starting and restarting the same story for probably like 13 or 14 years, and I keep feeling like maybe this time I will get it to work.

Fun Fact: Relena’s character design is based on Audrey Hepburn.  Her Queen of the World dress later in the series was directly inspired by Hepburn’s costume in Roman Holiday.

Quatre: I’ve never seen a ghost.

Quatre: I asked my sister if she’d ever seen a ghost. That’s where we’re at conversation-wise in our relationship as siblings, because I’m 15 and I don’t go to school and she doesn’t understand my occupation.

Quatre: So I was home recovering and we were just eating Triscuits in silence and I was staring at the floor and I was like, “Well, here goes nothing-”

Quatre: You ever seen a ghost?

Iria: Yes. I never told you this before but our house in Germany is haunted. I used to see the ghost of a little girl in a Victorian nightgown and then she would walk down the hallway and then she would evaporate.

Zayeed Winner: Let’s change the subject!

Quatre: And I think he was just doing that dad-thing of, like, “This is a weird topic and I want to talk about a book I read about World War II.”

Quatre: But the way it came off was that he definitely killed that little girl.

Quatre, in a mocking voice: “Let’s change the subject! Why are we even talking about Penelope… or whatever her name was? I didn’t kill her! Whoever did kill her only did it to protect her from this world.”

Quatre: None of us really know our fathers. Anyway…

Wufei: You two are married?

Duo: Hells yeah, man. We love each other. He makes the bass drop… in my heart.

Heero: And Duo is a person who was near me, and then he asked me to marry him, and there is nothing in my training or in Preventers protocol that specifically barred that from happening. So I agreed.

Duo: Love you too, babe.

Relena: I want to hear those three little words.

Heero: I love you.

Relena: That’s sweet, but try again.

Heero: Fine. I will behave.

Duo, to Trowa: Are you trying to hurt my feelings? Because if so, you are succeeding.

Duo: Fortunately, my feelings regenerate at twice the speed of a normal man’s.

Relena: What’s going on?

Duo: Heero may have died.

Relena: Heero MAY have died?!

Wufei: We’re still looking into it.

How Terraforming Will Work

A lot of great thinkers are warning that if humans are to survive as a species we are going to have to find another planet to live on. Terraforming, or engineering a planet to maintain all of the ingredients to sustain life, seems to be the answer.

Heero: Get off my chair. Please. Or else.

Quatre: I’m teaching him to be more polite.

Heero: Please get off my chair please. Or else please. I will kill you please.

Duo: It’s working.

Heero, in the distance: Get fucked, shithead, please! Or else. Please.

Quatre: What is your biggest fear?

Duo: Probably losing. And loss in general? Also, jellyfish.

Heero: I don’t know if this is a fear, but I’m really fascinated by the darkness that consumes you when death comes. Thinking about that split second of terror where you feel the most alone in the world? When you flash back to all the decisions you’ve made to that point, and realize that we live our entire lives leading up to that moment.

Duo: And Heero.
