Why is it that sometimes terraria just decides 'no blood moon for you'?

Seriously, during this current playthrough of eternity death mode, I have gotten one natural blood moon. I am pre-lunatic cultist.

October One Year One World Progress report:

End of week one, I have beaten providence and the sentinels.

I made a space station at the top of my rope to space, and changed the rope to chain cause it looks cooler.

I have made tributes for every sentinel and put them all in the museum.

I updated my hellevator into four sections (Surface, Underground, Cavern, Underworld).

Extra things I didn't capture: I made a Profaned Biome I Created a Hellevator to that biome I started my mountain project Tried to build block art for some bosses (as suggested by @team-fartress-2, but turns out I am absolutely terrible at it and couldn't find a good place for them, so scrapped for now. All in all, going well! I'm trying my best to hold off on fighting polterghast until at least mid october, but it's hard.

Lunch debt is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard of

Been 1 year since I passed my driving test, so I finally got to remove my R plates!

If you don't know, R plates mean you can't go over 45 mph at any point until you've been driving for one year. Not even on motorways

Recently I got into miniature painting, after a 12 year wait. Here's the progression over the past month or so.

This is one of the first miniatures I ever did, back when I was 10 or 11. A bit worse for wear.

The first figure I did in my recent stuff was this dnd miniature I practiced with (the arm broke in delivery so I glued it on.)

These other ones are in no particular order, but I am particularly proud of the bony one and the bike.

And finally, my most recent one was a redo of my dnd miniature, which I think turned out very very well.

mutant. man. i've always heard people talk about how good this fight is, and how they consider it one of if not THE BEST modded terraria boss fight. and, after experiencing it for myself, i would say that those claims have some serious merit.

mutant was awesome. i loved fighting him. the way it works with the flight-hover mechanic, the bullet hell-esque attacks, the way that you feel like you're mastering the boss more and more each attempt. somehow, someway, the devs behind this managed to create one of the BEST modded experiences with a character that looks like something i'd draw when i was 7. it's great. absolute cinema if you will.

my one and only complaint is that mutant does this funny thing where after attempting the boss something like 15 times, it skips the first phase and jumps straight to its second. this, to me, just doesn't feel right. it gives your successful attempt less merit. think about it--if you fuck up in the first phase, you lose health going into the second--encouraging the player to actually learn the first phase so they don't go into the second already crippled. but if you skip the first phase, all of the sudden you're always gonna go into the second phase will full health, no handicaps from any mistake you could've made whatsoever. it didn't feel like i beat mutant the first time i did, more like i just beat the second and desperation phase. luckily, i had to go back and fight it again with the same gear because it didn't drop enough Eternal Essence, so i was able to fully beat it from that. but still. not to mention that it just makes the fight unnecessarily shorter.

i mean, i get the idea behind it. you're fighting the boss for the 30th time, already mastered the first phase, and upset that it takes so long to get to the second to actually learn it. but i feel like this just isn't a viable solution to that. also Abominationn also has a weaker first phase and he doesn't have a phase skip. so idk what the problem is.

anyway. eternity mode was fun. shoutout for @kodithew for encouraging me to try it. (sorry for the mention but. yk.) i made the soul of eternity!! figure i should actually screenshot it but eh i already closed the game so. whatever.

i now sit atop the throne of the very few calamity players who have fully completed a mod unrelated to calamity. (well i mean i did mod of redemption before this but ehh i didn't like that one very much.)

i feel like people often claim that fargo is the go-to mod for players who want the same vibe as calamity, and i think that's a bit... oversimplified? like the two are fundamentally different experiences. you never had to collect 2,763 items from a completely different class just to make another stupid accessory that turns into a god. it's not a bad vibe---i personally enjoyed it a lot. (finally getting that warrior's soul or whatever it was was so satisfying.) it's different. and that's not a bad thing. might even be better. (fabsol, take notes, this is how you make a boss ya dunce.)

there's some more i wanna say but this post is getting LENGTHY. so to close this off, i really liked it :)

maybe ill try masochist mode one day. when i'm feeling masochistic. because brother i'm not touching this again for a long while that earlygame was PAIN.

anyway yeah. fun times. soul of eternity turned me into Jesus Christ himself
