Warren loves Gordon more than he hates/ is scared of Bryony.

What the fuck.

Ok well now I need Bryony Halbech 2064 fan art. Might as well make it myself.

Today I've grown a bit more unhinged about her and that is honestly concerning.

I don't know if I'm getting anywhere at all with it but I just can't help thinking.

Achtung! You can disagree with me regarding my 'The Master and Margarita' theory but I really don't want to argue with anyone ever so if you think I'm wrong PLEASE don't tell me.

My theory and spoilers for S4E3 under the cut

In the novel 'The Master and Margarita' by Mikhail Bulgakov there're several storylines that compose the novel. One of the storylines takes place in Ancient Judea, the city of Yershalaim and the main characters of this storyline are Pontius Pilate and Yeshua Ha-Nozri. I've been through some tense discussions regarding whether or not Yeshua is The Jesus we all know (imo he obviously is). There are several hints in the text that the story from the Bible differs from the one we read about in the novel because the events were written down with some significant changes by Yeshua's follower Matthew.

So long story short: in the novel we read about the events that were then edited by a third party and turned into the Bible as we know it.

Ok now to my main point. I've been thinking about the scene with Marmite and Warren arguing about which instrument Gordon played. And Marmite is like a bit too confident about it for someone who's never even met Gordon. And considering the literal cult they have going on... I can't help but wonder if that's what happened to Gordon or more so to the idea of him. Is he believed to be someone else? Is he believed to have done the things he never did? And don't even get me started on the fact that bringing him back is one of the main goals. Because right now Gordon is a Schrödinger's cat and bringing someone like him back to the reality where there's a CULT built around him... Well, it would be a little too close to resurrection, wouldn't it.

Anyway, I hope Gordon isn't going to become the next Jesus, it would be fucked up. But well. Yeah. I believe that Warren is right about the bass and it's not him being an asshole who knows nothing about his best friend, it's actually the cult being weird.

In conclusion, 'The Master and Margarita' is an amazing piece of literature and I'm an idiot who's just spent 2 hours writing this.

You know, in 2020 they tortured Warren in the name of science. In 2064 they're just being assholes.

Spoilers for S4E3 under the cut.

Like DUDE maybe you don't want to argue with this poor godforsaken man (who's done nothing but MOURN his best and only friend since he emerged) about who knows the said friend best? I get it, it's your special little interest, but can we bring being empathetic back? As for Aubrey... Well, I don't know, maybe don't bring someone back into the world on someone else's funeral party. And don't be mad when the person who knows nothing about this world comes to you for the answers that YOU said you were going to give.

Warren wouldn't feel so alone if people were just nicer to him. It's not like he doesn't deserve some basic kindness. Because apparently people can be nice to someone like Malcolm but Warren just can't catch a break, can he? They're gonna torture this poor man forever I tell you.

I wonder if Gordon, once he emerges, would understand the appeal of going into hypersleep. I wonder if he would feel the same way as Warren did about going nowhere, thinking of nothing, simply being not. Because Gordon went through A LOT at Red Valley and he'd been going through a lot for a few years before it, starting with Oscar. And so I wonder if he would like Warren find some comfort in not being constantly worried or threatened or just in general terrified. Even if it feels like nothing. I mean their situations are really different and Warren's view on his state was majorly influenced by his amnesia and the possible change of personality and stuff but like. I just feel like there's a chance that Gordon of all people would actually get the point, even a self-destructing one like that.

Duuuuuuudeeeee Sunday can't come soon enough.

OK OK OK OH MY GOD. I'm actually crying. It was such a beautiful episode... A bit heartbreaking but beautiful.

Don't want to accidentally spoil anything so! Cut!

I really think I can draw some parallels between Jade and Warren and analyze everything properly but like. I can't right now. This podcast makes me too emotional to think.

Ok but big thoughts aside!!! Clive and Pam!!! Oh how she hates him I can feel it. My favorite morally fucked up people.

And Waffles!! My light and joy!!! Everyone likes Waffles!!!!

GORD is the funniest little guy in the world and must be protected.

Malcolm is a bitch and I think it feels awful for him to hear Gordon's voice instead of Rebecca's from Blue Sky. And that's part of the reason he's such a hater. Malcolm is the type to say the most disrespectful shit and then be like OH WELL IT'S A FREE COUNTRY INNIT. And honestly? Grandpa energy.

Hester is the sweetest and I really want to hear more from her she's so cool and like??? Motherly??? Idk she's awesome.

AND WDYM THEY WENT INTO HYPERSLEEP. Like it's great that they explained it because I was kind of lost with calculating their ages but DUDE.

Jade makes me cry but like I'm grateful??? It's amazing and heart touching and I'm a mess about her.

And well... Uhm... Don't really know how I feel about the visiting Gordon part. Plus I don't think it would be easy for Warren to even enter the cryosuite. It was mentioned that the security system is over complicated and like??? He just went there??? Didn't really get that.

All in all, happy Red Valley day to those who celebrate! I'm so excited!!!

What if 'would-you-rather' questions come back once Gordon emerges from hypersleep?? What if Gordon actually is amnesiac and those questions are the only thing connecting Warren to the man he knew??? What if Warren checks his answers and realizes they're just the same? And what if he realized they're not???? What then?????

Man I miss my good friend Gordon Porlock so much. I hope he comes back soon.

You know what would be amazing? Getting a Clive and Let Die kind of miniseries where the roles are reversed like in wywh3. Because Gordon is going to need to stay in quarantine and perhaps it would take him even longer to stabilize sooo sneaky channel 6 ;')

I need them to talk so desperately.

Hyperfixation strikes back and I'm absolutely not normal about how tragic Gordon's character actually is once again.

A lot of words in very bad English (because I clearly don't get enough sleep) under the cut.

Okay so Gordon and Warren as the main characters are obviously dualistic. They work as a duo for that exact reason and it's mostly about the way they handle things. They balance each other and stuff but that's not my point. My point is that they're not only dualistic when it comes to their personality. They're also dualistic when it comes to how they're presented in the story itself not taking the plot and interactions with other characters.

We know a lot about Warren's past. And it's really an interesting thing about him as an amnesiac character. We KNOW him because we know his past. We even know something about his time as a convict because we get to hear him on the records from that time. He doesn't know a lot about himself but we as the observers do.

But for Gordon it's quite the opposite. We know only the bare essentials about his past and most of it is not really that huge. Like OK he played in a band and yet we don't even know for sure what instrument he played. We know his favorite movies and his love for the macabre but it's not his past, it's just who he is on the outside, something anyone can see without looking too deep. We know that's he's half Brazilian on his mother's side and yet we don't even know his parents' names or anything about them at all. I mean we can assume they were neglectful to his feelings from the 'you know who belongs in a jar like that' part and the way he behaves in general but it's not really a lot of information. And it's not like he's being secretive about it, it's just that no one ever cares to ask. And that's exactly what I find so tragic about him.

He's always left neglected. His feelings don't matter to anyone if we're being completely honest. The closest he gets to being seen is when after a fight in a tunnel Warren lets him go back first because 'You don't like being here on your own'. And it's coming from Warren, the closest person he has, and as much as it's appreciated, I really don't think it's enough considering all the trauma Gordon has to constantly go through.

Aubrey is also neglectful to him as she is usually only concerned about Warren.

And yeah, I get it, it's really not the time and place to care about such things as feelings. And yet Gordon always made time to check on Warren, to comfort him, to at least offer his company.

And the most tragic part is that he got shot and went into the pod just as neglected as he always was. And it's not about the degraded infusion, it's about the way he was treated by the only two people he could trust. It's about how Aubrey just contacted him on her own knowing full well that it could get him in serious trouble and potentially murdered. It's about Warren's indifference (though it wasn't really his fault, the man just learned he's a murderer, he really should get a break. But Gordon didn't know about that so imagine how it must'd looked like to the poor dude). And then he was left for 44 years and now nobody can even tell what his condition is in there. 'You don't fucking know, do you?'

So YEAH. In conclusion. Gordon needs to get his fucking hugs and apologies. And he needs to get his shit considered and appreciated. And like. A life long therapy.

Ok so I may be stupid. But I didn't actually catch the 'memory loss is a possible side effect' bit. Isn't it the side effect of BRYONY'S treatment? It's discussed in The Boat and the Bridger iirc. Sure, it has everything to do with Warren's PTSD but it's Bryony who was erasing his memory with meds. It's really convenient how he only forgot the criminal part of his life.

Not to mention that Warren didn't experience huge memory loss when he was brought back to Red Valley and he had A LOT of hypersleep. And I get that the technology probably improved with time but none of the people who experienced hypersleep in s3 had any problem with memory.

So yeah. I'm not sure about Gordon losing his memory. At least I don't think it makes sense with all the information at hand.

The only possible reason for Gordon to lose his memory in my opinion is the fact that he was given the degraded goo (sorry, can't for the life of me remember what's it called). But well, I'm no expert. I guess we'll wait and we'll see.

Okayyy random take in the name of s4! I'm so excited!

Spoilers for s3 and wywh3 and a lot of words under the cut.

SO. I've been thinking about Warren and Gordon finding out that Morior Invictus is now like somewhat of a cryoterrorists hymn. I know we as a fandom just kind of assumed they would love it. The whole rebellion thing, fighting for your future, confonring the almighty power of money. And yeah it makes enough sense to be true. But the evil little voice inside my head keeps telling me that MAYBE it wouldn't all be that fun.

I mean Gordon said that Pus Crank songs were reminding him of simpler times. And now I might assume they're also reminding them both of the little comfort they could get in the literal hell on earth. Warren sang it in the moment of despair. And I really don't think it was all about him being angry or wanting to hurt Gordon in some way.

Like YEAH they might enjoy the way everything has turned out for this song. But also doesn't it feel like kind of an intervention? Like they took the last thing connecting them to the silly moments. Like now it's all about the war and not them trying to get some actual comfort.

So! My prediction (if we ever get to hear their reaction) is Warren freaking out about it. I mean the man is known for being impulsive and having Reactions to things. He's unstable and thus unpredictable. Plus the whole Oscar thing got me thinking Warren is a bit too possessive of Gordon and by extension all things related to him. I guess a negative reaction from Warren just seems more likely to my angsty brain. Not sure about Gordon's reaction though.

And I really wish be proven wrong.

Uh well... Yeah... I'm dead. But it was worth it🥲

I've seen this being posted before BUT I really can't stop thinking about the possibility of WYWH 3. Like oh my GOD can you imagine how much that could hurt??? How utterly beautiful it could be??? WYWH narrated by Warren is my greatest desire and most terrible fear

I've Seen This Being Posted Before BUT I Really Can't Stop Thinking About The Possibility Of WYWH 3.

Sobbing giggling throwing up what the hell dude WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'I CAN WAIT'.

Not me overthinking this whole episode. Couldn't be me crying because now Warren waiting for Gordon is also something he does because he knows nobody has waited for Gordon ever in his life and he was always the one left behind and abandoned and OH MY GOD WE'RE SO BACK. WE'RE SO BACK.
