I swear..... Comments are so tragic it's almost funny.
F1 is tough. No pilot will admit they can't race. No team will want to replace their n°1 driver. It's a competition, it's a fight... Wake up!
Truth is neither Lando nor McLaren have a say in this. Hopefully there's a medical center at every gp place. If doctors say "clear to race" then of course you jump in the car. If "unfit to race" then there's no debate.
But come on, we are not at a point where a team forces a pilot to race against the doctor's opinion. If Lando drove last Sunday and took p8 then he could. And I hope he can do it again this week.
seeing some controversy over Lando and him racing this weekend. Lando is an adult, he knows when he can and can't race and if he feels up to it then that's his decision. Yes it's Monaco that requires a lot of focus and concentration but he's probably already thought about that. If McLaren think it's too risky for him to race, they won't let him and they will not force him to even if he is still not right and risk his health (andreas literally said this last week).
if Lando chooses to race this weekend which seems likely, don't start screaming and shouting at McLaren because they have probably taken every step necessary to make sure he is okay to race and Lando himself wouldn't risk putting himself or anyone else in danger by racing when he isn't fit enough, especially in monaco. Him potentially not doing media duties (we'll have to see tomorrow what happens there) gives him more time to rest and be ready for the sessions and is probably precautionary to make sure he can take part.
when it comes to the reserve driver scenario, Oscar will not be their first option. Alpine offered him to McLaren but McLaren kindly said thank you and never mentioned it again. they have their own agreement with Mercedes which would be the safest bet but i don't see this being the route this weekend goes.
as a whole, don't think you know more than the doctors that have been keeping an eye on him and most likely cleared him to race. if there was a risk to him taking part this weekend, he wouldn't be allowed in the car ... simple as that.
Hi, I'm sorry if this is a "please do your own research oh my god" question, and I ask this in good faith, but why is it bothersome for f1 twitter to post fics to twitter if the writers put them on the internet for consumption in the first place? Or is it the part where he speaks unkindly about them that is the bothersome part and not just the fact that he posted them on twitter?
Hey my dear!
It’s the fact that he makes fun of it and portrays it as something disgusting and ridiculous. It’s about him not giving a single shit how many people he hurts with this as long as he gets the attention. It’s about him doing it on Twitter, a place where the drivers are and fans find it funny to tag them in it.
It’s true that we put the fics on the internet for consumption but - for my part at least - I do it on tumblr and AO3, both rather … niche parts of Social Media. I don’t need the drivers to see this, I don’t send it to them and I don’t write it for them. Should Lando happen to stumble across tumblr and AO3 and sees the fics then so be it but it’s his own choice and he can decide on his own if he wants to read it or not. Fine by me.
If he does, I really don’t care. But forcing this on drivers and exposing this to a broad audience of people who just want to make fun of ‘hahahah look they are gay and they have gay sex how disgusting!!1!1!’ is what rubs me the wrong way, especially as a queer person myself.
No one gives a shit about y/n fanfictions (not that I want them to get targeted please don’t get me wrong!). And the people on Twitter don’t seem to realise that this is all fictional and no one of us really believes any of that?
Besides, we all put so much work and effort into this. It’s our safe space. It’s comfort for us and fanfiction is so much more than ‘Charles gets fucked by Pierre’ (and sometimes, yes, it’s just that and that’s fine as well).
I don’t know, if you don’t like fanfiction then simply don’t read it, like, if I don’t l like some fan art I also don’t just make a Twitter space and drag it?? I don’t make fun of the fans who literally camp in front of driver’s hotels or send love letters or create little gifts for them?
Again, I don’t mind if a driver stumbles over my fics. Should Lando find my abo porn then please, if he wants to read it that’s his own thing.
Another important point: AO3 also uses a tagging system. There is a reason why you have to click buttons that you consent to what you’re about to read. You consent to it when you open the page, click on the fic after seeing the tags and sometimes there is even a specific warning to which you have to consent as well to access the fic.
This dude puts all of this on Twitter to an audience who never got to consent to any of this and then drags it with them.
I hope this all somehow makes sense, I reblogged a few posts about this the last time and if anyone wants to add something feel free to.
Literally nobody wanted that. Sorry 🙄
😐😁😐
OK, so I understand better what takes me out of the film. Alex's actor (Taylor Pérez) is unsympathetic (is it the role?) and it seems like he doesn't play... His gaze expresses the same emotion throughout the movie.
I didn't read the book. And clearly. You have to read it to understand a thing. It's fun, with jokes and comic situations that made me genuinely laugh. And I like the complexity of Henry but that's it cause we didn't have so much more...
Apparently, they have cut a lot of parts and characters. Well, clearly too much, because the chemistry between Alex and Henry is coming from nowhere. Like there's objectively no real story for 45 minutes but realisators visibly assumed book's fans would get it by adding all the missing parts (is it working?) Eventually, the result is that from an outside pov, the sex scenes are then a bit cringe cause story gave us no reason to believe.
There's an inbalance in acting between the two actors and it's really obvious and quite disturbing in the emotional scenes like during the Paris bed scene, the fight/argue scene. I'm sorry for the man who's playing Alex but he struggled to be convincing.
I don't like the "America saves us all" propaganda so the end was frustrating. Alex discourt came so randomly, I thought Henry would have talk more with his older brother and sister, I thought he would also do a coming out or something insteed of a balcony scene, cliché af.
But in the end, that was 2 fun hours watching it, it's cute.
this is weeding out the fake lestappen fans fr
so very correct anon !!
people love to claim that they love lestappen because of their shared history and rivalry but then when there’s one hint of that everyone is all up in smokes. this is not a “friendship is power” situation, it is an extremely competitive sport.
Well.
You know what. The moment I told myself *Ok. It's done. Game over* is when Wilhelm told Simon he can't eat the cake to prevent him from food poisinning while Simon is eating it.
Unbalance power in life and in death. Simon's face says it all.
There's a world where Wille and Simon turn full Bonnie and Clyde and murder August on that freaking field. Lol. 💀
