You and Alexia have been best friends your whole lives. You’re adamant that moving away from Barcelona won’t change a thing between you. Alexia fears otherwise.
or classic best friends to lovers :)
“Can’t believe you’re really leaving.” It was midnight. You were sitting on your usual spot at the beach with Alexia, your head on her shoulder, both of you staring out at the sea. Despite the tightness in her chest, Alexia felt at ease with you next to her.
“I can’t believe it either,” you replied, your voice barely a whisper.
Alexia took a deep breath. You were only going away for a year, you said. It did nothing to calm the nerves she felt all over. One year, but that would be the longest you've been away from each other. Alexia still didn’t know how to feel, she didn’t know what to feel. She figured it still hadn’t sunk in, that you were leaving. Leaving her.
In the morning when Alexia would drop you off at the airport and you’d wave goodbye, that was probably when she’d feel everything. That was probably when the feeling of emptiness would set.
“I’ll call you everyday,” you said, hugging Alexia’s left arm tightly. “It will be like I’m still in Barcelona with you.”
Alexia chuckled, “You don’t have to call me everyday, cariño.”
You turned your head towards your best friend. “Are you saying you don’t want me to call everyday?”
“Don’t twist my words!” Alexia laughed. “It’s just that I don’t want you to feel pressured to have to call me everyday. You’re a busy woman. I’m the one who waits for you whenever you have night shifts and I watch enough of your Meredith Grey shows to know how busy things at the hospital can be.”
You snickered at her mention of Grey’s Anatomy. Alexia would always complain about how unrealistic the show was whenever you put it on, yet she still stayed by your side and watched the damn thing. You placed your head back on her shoulder and sighed. “I don’t care if I’m busy, I’ll always make time for you.”
Alexia gulped. It was the way you said it, your voice small, yet your tone firm, as if a world where you didn’t have time for her was just impossible. “I love you, you know.”
Alexia furrowed her brows when you didn’t answer straight away like you always did. She was about to open her mouth to say something, when you pulled away and stood up, stretching your hand out for her to take.
“Do you want to head back?” Alexia asked.
“No,” you cleared your throat. “Let’s just walk around. The sand is making me itchy.”
“It’s because you’re wearing shorts,” Alexia took your hand and stood up. “I told you you can sit on my lap, you didn’t listen.”
You dusted off the sand from the back of your legs. “Didn’t want to.”
“Why? It’s comfy.”
“How would you know? You’ve never sat on your own lap before,” you said, your tone teasing.
“Idiota.”
You kept walking along the beach, swinging your arms back and forth. It was quiet, but nice. Just the two of you, enjoying each other’s presence. Alexia felt her heart twinge when she realized that she didn’t know when she’d have another moment like this with you.
“Y/n,” Alexia spoke up after a few moments.
You hummed in reply.
This felt really nice, the way your hands were intertwined… Your shoulders bumping every now and then… Everything felt so right. Alexia took a deep breath and tried her best to not let herself get too emotional. She didn’t want to cry just yet, she knew she wouldn’t be able to stop if she did.
“Ale, what were you going to say?”
“I’m in love with you.”
Alexia immediately shook her head, reminding herself not to let those words slip. She looked down and focused on the way her feet were kicking the sand with every step she took forward. “Nothing.”
You brought Alexia’s hand up to your lips and kissed the back of it. It was something you always did, but it still made Alexia’s heart drop every time.
Maybe it was because the gesture had always made Alexia fall for you even more, or maybe it was because Alexia knew the platonic way it meant to you when Alexia wanted more than that.
“I know you, Ale,” you stopped walking and turned towards her. “You’re thinking about something.”
“Hm? What makes you think so?”
You poked Alexia’s forehead softly. “You have that crinkle between your brows. And you’ve been biting your lip for the past few minutes.”
Alexia hated the fact that you knew her so well, because it meant that she could never hide anything from you. The only thing Alexia successfully kept hidden were her feelings for you. Apart from that, you knew her better than anyone, and she was the same to you.
Having known each other for more than two decades was a factor, but Alexia felt like it was simply because you were soulmates.
Alexia realized that no matter how hard she tried to move on from you, you would always be the one for her. Even though you didn’t feel the same way, she knew it would never change how she felt about you. She made her peace with it.
“It’s nothing,” Alexia said once more. “I swear.” You seemed to take the hint and didn’t pry further.
You tugged her hand and continued on walking, Alexia turning her head to the side every now and then, observing you. It was dark, the street lights were dim, and the moonlight wasn’t too bright, yet Alexia can still mention every little detail of your face—she had memorized them all after years of looking at you—from your warm eyes, to the delicate bridge of your nose, and the curve of your small lips. You were so beautiful that Alexia always felt breathless every time she looked at you, despite having known you since you were kids.
In that moment, with you humming along to a random song, your right hand interlocked with Alexia’s left one, there was nothing Alexia wanted more than to just confess her feelings for you. But she knew that you didn’t feel the same way, so telling you would just be pointless.
You turned your head to look at Alexia, catching her staring at you with that look on her face, the one look that you never could quite comprehend. When your lips formed a soft smile, Alexia couldn’t help but instantly reciprocate. Your smile was beautiful.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” you asked, your tone bashful.
“I’m in love with you.”
“I’m so, so in love with you.”
“I’m so in love with you that my heart hurts every time you smile.”
Alexia shrugged. “Just thinking about how I will miss you a lot.”
“Ah,” you nodded. “So that was what you were thinking about earlier?”
“No. I was thinking about how I’m so hopelessly in love with you.”
“You got me,” Alexia replied instead.
You sighed, squeezing her hand. “I’ll miss you too. At least you have a million pictures of me in your phone that you can look at if you’re missing me.”
Alexia laughed at that. “You better have a million pictures of me too.”
“Of course, I do,” you snickered. “Even you in diapers, I have them all.”
“No, you don’t!”
“I do! Eli sent them to me.” You had asked Eli for pictures of baby Alexia and she didn’t disappoint. They were adorable, especially the one where Alexia was learning how to crawl, wearing nothing but her diapers.
“You better not show it to anyone.”
“I’ll post it on Instagram before I leave.”
Alexia rolled her eyes, “You’re such a brat sometimes.”
“I’m such a brat?” you let go of Alexia’s hand to pull out your phone from your pocket. You stopped walking so Alexia stopped too, arms crossed, waiting for whatever it was you were doing.
After a few seconds of you scrolling silently through your phone, you flashed your screen to Alexia, showing the picture you mentioned before. “Want to say that again, Putellas?”
“You’re so annoying,” Alexia groaned. “I swear to god if you post that—”
“Watch me.” Your face was smug.
“Y/n,” Alexia said slowly, her tone full of warning.
You grinned, tapping something on the screen before you started running. The sound of your laughter getting smaller and smaller as you ran further away.
“That little—” Alexia cursed under her breath before she started running after you. “Tonta! Come back!”
“No!” Your figure was getting tinier and tinier that Alexia couldn’t help but laugh along.
Eventually, Alexia was able to catch up with you once you stopped running. Your hands were on your hips, trying to catch your breath.
“Why are you making me exercise at one in the morning?” Alexia asked, exhaling loudly.
You shrugged in reply, still out of breath. Alexia had always been the more athletic one out of the two of you. “Just wanted to run.”
“I’m so tired,” Alexia groaned. “Training was tough today.”
You rolled your eyes. You knew she was just being dramatic. “That was nothing. You need to exercise more, Ale.”
“The nerve!” Alexia barked out a laugh. “Who’s the athlete here?”
“Not you if that run tires you out.”
Alexia smiled fondly at you. You get on her nerves a lot. She wouldn’t have it any other way. “Now what did you do? Did you post that on Instagram? Because I’ll kill you, idiota.”
“Oh no, I’m sooo scared,” you mockingly said, a pout on your lips. “Oh nooo.”
Alexia narrowed her eyes at you before she stepped forward and tickled your stomach.
“What are you—Alexia! Ale-Alexia stop it! Stop it right now!”
“Not until you delete that picture!” Alexia kept on tickling you. “Delete it!”
You were both laughing and Alexia didn’t show any signs of stopping until you tripped. You would’ve fallen to the ground if it weren’t for Alexia’s quick reflexes, her arms immediately encircling around your waist.
You were staring at each other, your breath heavy from all the laughter that had long died out. Alexia felt dizzy. Your lips were so close to hers, Alexia could just lean forward and all her questions about how your lips taste would be answered. Alexia saw you blinking back a couple of times, she even swore she saw your eyes dart to her lips.
The street lights were illuminating your features perfectly and Alexia could see your lips twitching slightly—as if you wanted to close the distance between you too.
Suddenly your phone rang, breaking you two apart. You cleared your throat and answered your phone.
Alexia let out the deep breath she was holding, rubbing the back of her neck. She had a feeling that she would kiss you if the phone rang a second too late, which would be a disaster. She was thankful to whoever called, because she would never forgive herself if she ruined your friendship just because of her stupid feelings.
“Sorry,” you said. “That was Leila, just asking what time I’d be at the airport tomorrow.”
“Right.” There it was again, the unsettling feeling in her stomach every time Leila was mentioned. Alexia swallowed hard, trying her best not to show her jealousy. She was the one who introduced you to Leila when you joined a night out with the Barcelona girls. Alexia didn’t know that you two would hit it off. She didn’t know that Leila would move to Manchester and shockingly, you got offered a job at one of the best hospitals in Manchester.
It felt like the universe was playing some cruel joke.
Alexia had to keep reminding herself that you weren’t hers, that you had every right to be with whoever you wanted. Alexia had no right to be jealous.
“That’s very cool, by the way,” Alexia said, putting her hands in the pockets of her jeans. “How you two are somehow going to the same country, same city.”
“Yeah, Codi said it was fate or something.”
Fate? Me tripping over your leg at the playground when we were five was fate. Me immediately crying and you wiping my tears away until my mom came was fate. That was meant to happen because it made my mom invite you and your mom over for dinner, and it made us become best friends ever since. That was fate. Leila going to the same city as you was merely a coincidence.
“Sure,” Alexia said, swallowing the bitterness in her mouth. “If that’s what you think.”
You sighed. “I don’t know. Ask me again in a year or so and I’ll tell you if Leila and I are fated or not.”
Alexia didn’t answer, instead she just kept on staring at you, taking in the sight of you standing in front of her for the last time.
In the morning, you were leaving. You’d have a new life in Manchester, one that Alexia wouldn’t be a big part of, seeing how she was all the way in Barcelona.
Alexia tried to bury deep, deep inside the pain that kept on reappearing every now and then, but it was getting increasingly difficult with the way you looked back at her—your eyes full of tenderness, as if you felt the same way Alexia did, as if it killed you to not be able to say exactly what you wanted to say.
But Alexia shrugged it off. There was no time to think about these made-up scenarios in her head. You were leaving soon.
Alexia stepped forward and hugged you as tight as she could, wanting to remember the way you felt in her embrace.
—
You kept your promise and called Alexia everyday. It lasted for two months before things became more hectic for the two of you and the daily calls stopped. In your defense, you really did try your best, but some days you had late night shifts and when you didn’t, you had date nights with Leila.
“Cariño! I haven’t heard your voice in two days! That is crazy. I was wondering if you were still alive.”
“Ha ha. So funny, Alexia.”
“Such a busy woman.”
Alexia was thriving even more if that was even possible, scoring more goals and assists, earning her more media duties and appearances. She was busy too.
You would catch her on your television sometimes, an interview or replays of her games. You were used to it, you knew Alexia before and after her rise to fame. But without the back and forth texts, without the calls and hearing her voice, without having her next to you, Alexia had never felt so out of reach.
“Hey, is it a bad time?”
“Hola, princessa. ‘m about to sleep. So tired. Call me tomorrow?”
“Okay, Ale. Sweet dreams.”
“Love you.”
Weeks with limited communication turned into months and the next thing you knew, you went from knowing everything about Alexia’s life, to finding out she had a girlfriend from your girlfriend.
Apparently Olga was a mutual friend. Leila had only good things to say about her.
You called Alexia that night, asking her about it. She didn’t have much to say, a tell-tale sign that she was uncomfortable, but why she was uncomfortable you couldn’t decipher it.
“Is she good to you at least?”
“Yeah.”
“Does she make you happy?”
“Sí.”
“Then that’s all that matters.”
For the first time since you’ve known her, you felt like a stranger in Alexia’s life. You couldn’t tell exactly when things changed. It must’ve been the depleting texts sent each day, the less and less phone calls until it went down to none at all for a week or two, and when you two did have time for a call, it felt… awkward.
The first argument started when Alexia casually joked about how you were so busy and you didn’t have time for her anymore, how you have a more exciting life now in Manchester. She was laughing but you just got off a twelve hour shift at work and you were exhausted.
“Like you’re not the same?” you fired back, feeling a headache coming through.
Instead of changing the subject like you hoped she would, Alexia rebutted your claim. “I do have time for you.”
You let out a laugh. “Between football and your new girlfriend? You don’t, Ale. Don’t act otherwise.”
“Wow. Okay.”
You seemed to instantly snap out of it at the tone of her voice. Alexia sounded hurt and for a second, you felt guilty for starting a fight. But what she said hurt you too, because even though she said it in a joking way, you knew she meant it.
“Sorry,” you sighed. “Can we talk tomorrow? I’m not in the mood.”
“Right, yeah. Bye.”
The arguments seemed to snowball after that first one. Your calls were still rare, but when you or Alexia forced yourselves to call the other, it didn’t end well.
That should be the first warning sign for you—how you felt forced to call her when you used to want to hear her voice all the time.
“How was your day?”
“It was fine.”
“Can you at least act like you’re excited to talk to me?”
“If we’re just going to fight, Ale, you shouldn’t have called.”
“Whatever. Good night.”
The next thing you knew, there wasn’t a call that went by without some small, unimportant argument.
It got worse when you told her you weren’t staying for only one year as originally planned. You liked it here in Manchester. You had a good job and you were surrounded by wonderful people.
Alexia ignored you for the whole day only to call you early in the morning, her voice raspier than usual. You knew that meant she spent the night crying.
“You don’t know when you’ll be back?”
“I don’t know when I’ll be back in Barcelona, no.”
“How am I supposed to go for… what? Another year without you? Two years? More?”
“You’ve been doing just fine so far. I don’t see the problem, Ale.”
“I miss you every night that you're not here. I don’t think that's doing ‘fine’.”
“Oh c’mon. We haven't been the same.”
“Just because we haven’t been talking as much doesn’t mean that I love you less, but whatever.”
It got even worse when you were supposed to fly back to Spain for Alexia’s birthday, but you had to cancel at the last minute because you were stuck with an emergency case at the hospital.
In hindsight, it was a stupid reason, something you could totally resolve by having one of your co-workers take over for you. But your mind went into overdrive, you somehow convinced yourself that you couldn’t leave the country.
Maybe it was out of fear of seeing Alexia again, not wanting to see how the distance had changed your dynamics.
Alexia’s reaction when you told her you weren’t going to be there hurt more than you could admit.
“You’d never miss my birthday and I’d never miss yours. That was a promise.”
“We were seven, Alexia.”
Alexia didn’t say anything else and you didn’t need to see her face to know how dejected she was. You ignored the pain in your chest, convincing yourself that you were doing the right thing. You didn’t need to fly for more than two hours for someone’s birthday.
The old you would’ve screamed at you if she knew what you were doing. Alexia wasn’t just someone. She was… she was your everything and more.
When midnight rolled around and you would usually be next to Alexia, wishing her a happy birthday with a present in hand, and instead you were all the way in Manchester, you felt that maybe you were dumb to let the arguments get in your head.
You took a deep breath and texted her a happy birthday. You weren’t sure if she would pick up if you called.
Alexia didn’t reply to your text until noon that day, saying how she was off to celebrate with her family as usual and she’d call you after dinner. She didn’t mention Olga, but you knew she was there from Alba.
You sat in your apartment alone in the dark, Leila was out with her friends. It was only then that it dawned on you how lonely you were. You couldn’t imagine how Alexia was feeling—that was, if she still cared about you.
You had been there for Alexia’s birthday ever since she turned six years old. You didn’t think that you’d ever miss one, ever. But here you were.
It was weird to see Olga in place of you, seated between Eli and Alba as she grinned at Alexia blowing the candles out.
That used to be you.
Instead, you were in a different country, wishing you were at a place where someone else had claimed your spot.
When it was way after dinner time and you still hadn’t heard from Alexia even though she said she’d call, you decided to send her a text. Something short and straight to the point: can I call you?
Alexia didn’t reply and you fell asleep with a feeling so hollow in your chest, you wondered if love was supposed to hurt this bad.
stop making promises you can’t keep, alexia
The loud ringing of your phone woke you up. You didn’t think that you’d see an incoming call from Alexia this early.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Hello to you too, Ale.” Your tone was curt. In your defense, you had just woken up.
“You’re picking a fight,” Alexia stated. “I don’t know why, but it’s not nice.”
“Picking a fight?” You scoffed in disbelief. “Is this about my text? I was simply telling you to stop making promises, because you can’t keep them. You told me you’d call me, you didn’t.”
You said it so accusatory that Alexia felt a sudden rush of anger. “You’re being ridiculous. I fell asleep. I’m calling you now, aren’t I?”
“I’m being ridiculous? Is it not me who had to wait for hours for your call?”
Alexia let out a bitter laugh. “Saying all that like I don’t usually have to wait hours and hours for you too?”
“Well, you’re the one with the empty promises. You promised me that things won’t be different between us, well. Look at us now.”
“That’s not entirely my fault and you know it. If we’re playing that game, you said you’d call me everyday, you said you’d always have time for me. Look at us now, cariño!”
Alexia never raised her voice at you. That was how you knew things were truly different now. “I was busy. Some days I have twelve hour shifts, Alexia,” you replied simply, not wanting to raise your voice too.
“Busy,” Alexia scoffed at you. “But you still have time to watch Leila’s games every week.”
You immediately felt defensive at the mention of your girlfriend’s name. “Why are you dragging Leila into this?”
Alexia was about to give you a piece of her mind, about how having a quick call with her wasn’t as time consuming as watching a 90-minute football game, but you still had more to say.
“Leila has nothing to do with us turning into… into this mess!” So much for not wanting to raise your voice at her. “Besides, you have Olga too. You spent all your time with her and forgot the plans we made first.” You fired back at her, a part of you hated that Olga took your place, that Olga was able to be in Barcelona next to Alexia, doing all the things you used to do.
People would think you were jealous, but you weren’t. You just didn’t like her. You didn’t like that she was taking up too much of Alexia’s time. That wasn’t jealousy.
“What plans? If I forgot something, then tell me. I’m not a fucking mind reader, Y/n.”
“What was I supposed to do? Ask you to pick between Olga and I? Why would I do that when I know you’ll pick her!”
(You might sound a little crazy. But you wouldn't admit that to anyone. In your defense, it was hard being demoted to second choice.)
“What’s your problem with Olga?” Alexia accused you, she knew you all too well.
“I have no problem with her. What's your problem with Leila?”
“Don’t change the subject. I was once your best friend, I know you more than anyone, and I know how you usually are when you don’t like someone.”
The use of past tense shouldn’t hurt as much as it did. You knew things had changed between you. “Glad to know you don’t think we’re best friends anymore.”
Alexia let out an exhale. “You haven’t been acting like you’re my best friend for sometime. Don’t act all innocent.”
“Even though we haven’t been talking much, you’re still my person. But since I don’t seem to matter to you anymore, I’ll just…” you trailed off, suddenly feeling stupid for all of this.
Alexia could feel that familiar tug in her heart, the feeling of wanting to make everything in the world right for you.
But for once, she casted it aside. The anger she had at you overpowering everything. “I don’t think I matter to you anymore either, so I guess we’re even.”
There was a pause before you utter your next words. “You matter the most to me.”
Alexia could only scoff. “Sure, you have done such a great job of showing that I matter to you—you couldn’t even spare five minutes of your precious 24 hours to talk to me!”
Deep down, you knew that. You knew that you were guilt-tripping Alexia when you had your faults too.
None of you said anything else. For once, in the two decades that you’ve known each other, you both didn’t know what to say—had nothing else to say.
When all Alexia could come up with was “I don’t know who you are anymore. You’re really hurting me this time,” you knew you had to put an end to all of this.
“I think we should just… take a break from all of this.”
Alexia couldn’t believe what she was hearing. You didn’t think you had it in you to say those words either. Even though the conversations between you two had diminished, saying that you wanted to stop talking to each other felt so… final.
“What?”
“I’m tired, Ale.”
“You don’t think I’m tired too?” you could hear the urgency in her voice. “What does that even mean? ‘Take a break from all this’? You want a break from me, you mean? What ever happened to ‘you’re my person, Alexia?’” Alexia mimicked your voice. She was getting angrier by the second, you could tell.
“You told me I’m hurting you! I’m tired of hurting you. I didn’t even realize it, Ale. I never wanted that. All we’ve been doing is fighting each other. I don’t know how to stop this. I don’t see a solution to this, I really don’t.”
Neither of you knew where it went wrong. One day you two were fine—you two loved each other more than anything in this world—the next thing you knew, you couldn’t hold up a conversation where it didn’t end with exasperated voices and tired sighs.
It was the distance, you assumed.
You and Alexia were attached at the hip. The only time you two went separate ways was when she had away games and international duties.
It was a two and a half hour flight between Barcelona and Manchester, but neither of you had made the trip to see one another. Alexia seemed even more far away as the days went by.
She had Olga to turn to now, you could feel her not needing you anymore.
It was the distance that took Alexia away from you, you would convince yourself that. It wasn’t the nameless feeling in your chest that felt a lot like yearning, jealousy, and regret all at once.
You ended the call, not knowing whether you’d ever talk to Alexia again.
—
Losing someone that had always been a constant in your life was devastating.
It was miserable. You were the most miserable you had ever been.
Leila kept on asking you what was wrong, your friends in Barcelona updating her that Alexia was in the same state as you. Not that you cared.
You didn’t know how to live without Alexia in your life, but you’d manage. You’d learn. This wasn’t the end of the world.
You steered clear of your social media, not wanting to see any posts of her from your mutual friends or from the Barcelona account.
Leila and a couple of your friends eventually stopped asking you about what went wrong with Alexia, to which you were glad, but the emptiness you felt when no one brought Alexia up to you was starting to make you uneasy.
Alexia used to be in all your conversations, she was a huge part of your life. Now it felt like she was never a part of it.
A few months passed by, your birthday rolled around and you assumed—you wished—that Alexia would break this silence between you two. It was your birthday after all.
But you should’ve known how stubborn she was.
When you stayed up until the clock strikes midnight and there was no text from Alexia, when she used to pride herself on being the first person to wish you a happy birthday, you knew you had lost her for good.
You spent your birthday with pain in your chest like no other. You just wanted Alexia back.
Your friends in Manchester knew something was up with you, Leila figured that it was mostly because of Alexia. None of them could understand why it was upsetting you so much.
That night, you sat on your balcony and looked through the folder of pictures on your phone that contained decades worth of memories of Alexia. With each scroll, you could feel more tears running down your cheeks.
There was a photo of you when you were ten, Alexia next to you laughing at how ugly your haircut was.
Another photo was of you at prom, Alexia as your plus one. Despite the countless promposals you received, you’d rather have Alexia as your date than the stinky boys at your school.
When Alexia got called up for the national team for the first time, you were there with Eli to watch her score her first international goal. The photo you had was of her carrying you on her back. It was after the game ended and Alexia had too much energy that she had to carry you around the field.
The next photo was of Alexia sleeping at the library, you were studying for your exams when you were in University and Alexia had the day off. To her, nothing was better than spending it with you, even if it meant that she had to sit there and watch you study boring stuff. Alexia always had faith that you were going to be the best doctor in Barcelona.
You had a photo of when you flew across continents to watch her win the World Cup, grinning next to Alexia as she kissed your cheek, trophy in hand.
A photo of when she tore her ACL and you were there at her bedside as she was preparing to go into surgery. Alexia didn’t let go of your hand until she was in front of the operating room.
A photo of you and Alexia in a locker room, both in Barcelona jerseys. It was the day before your exam, but it was also the Champions League final. You brought your textbook and Alba kept on laughing when you studied during half-time.
Most photos were of Alexia doing mundane things. They meant the most to you because of how carefree she looked in all of them.
Alexia making stupid faces at you as you grocery shopped together.
Alexia laughing next to you in the driver seat as she drove you to work.
Alexia cooking dinner for the two of you, her eyebrows scrunching in concentration as she read the ingredients from her new cookbook.
Alexia sipping coffee in your favourite coffee shop in Barcelona. They served the best banana bread, you never wanted to share them with anyone, not even Alexia.
Alexia watching replays of her games on her iPad. She was laying down on your couch, your throw blanket draped over her feet.
Alexia smiling at you with that look.
As you reached the last picture you had on the album, a photo of Alexia taken by you the morning you left for Manchester—she was on the driver seat, a wistful smile on her face as she turned to look at you during a red light—you suddenly felt as if you couldn’t breathe.
You were in love with Alexia.
You were so desperately in love with Alexia, you had always been, ever since you let her become your first kiss.
You didn’t like any of Alexia’s relationships, because you were jealous. You thought none of her girlfriends could treat her well, no one lived up to your expectations. You felt like you were the only one who could understand her.
You hugged the blanket around yourself tighter, the gust of wind making your teeth chatter. You wanted Alexia there next to you, she would know that you were never a fan of the cold, always making sure that you were bundled up and warm.
You had a million thoughts running through your mind, mostly about how you missed all the signs of being in love with your best friend. Although deep down, you’ve always known that what you felt for Alexia was too intense to be strictly platonic.
But when someone kissed you, having it meant the world to you, only for her to wish it never happened, you felt like it was justifiable that you decided to lock your feelings away.
Now that you’ve uncovered them, you didn’t know how to go on and pretend that you were fine with having Alexia out of your life.
—
Barcelona was playing against Manchester City at the Etihad. This wasn’t something you could get out of, you needed to be there to support Leila.
You had some friends traveling to Manchester to watch the match, you decided to sit with them instead of your usual spot at the Friends and Family section. You wanted—no, you needed someone to distract you from the person you hadn’t seen in almost two years.
You ignored your friends’ teasing at your Man City jersey instead of the Blaugrana colour (with Alexia’s name and number) you usually wore. They didn’t mention Alexia to you, having figured out the fallout, but a part of you wanted them to. You wanted them to tell you about Alexia and how she’d been doing.
Your resolve almost crumbled, Alexia’s name on the tip of your tongue. If it wasn’t for the players entering the field and the loud cheers from the audience, you would’ve asked them about Alexia.
Alexia, who was no longer blonde apparently. You saw her run to the field, her brown hair in a neat ponytail. Even from afar you could still see her smile. You hated that you still felt like jumping off a cliff at the sight.
You hated that your gaze was always drawn to her instead of your girlfriend.
Later when the game ended and Barcelona eventually won, you went to meet Leila at the barrier, whispering how great she played despite it all.
You almost accepted her invite to a night out with some of the Barcelona girls. The temptation to see Alexia again was so strong, but you didn’t think you were ready yet.
You saw her anyway, in your dreams that night. Maybe it was that deep yearning that caused you to text her as soon as you woke up.
good game yesterday. always proud of you
—
Your reconciliation didn’t happen all at once.
You didn’t magically go back to being the same as you were before (there was some apprehension from both parties), but it was close enough.
It was scarily easy to integrate Alexia back into your life even though you hadn’t talked to each other for so long.
First it was the likes on Instagram posts, or a reply to your Instagram story of gloomy Manchester sky, or a comment on Alexia’s post of her match day outfit.
Then the texts started. A simple text from Alexia telling you that she was through to the finals of the Euros. Or a text from you containing a picture of your cat, Mr. Oreo. They were evenly spaced out throughout your week, it wasn’t too often that it felt like you two were rushing back into being friends, but it wasn’t too scarce to leave you wanting more.
It was just perfect.
The striking difference now was that you were letting yourself fall for her. Every joke she made, every selfie she sent you, you took your time to admire her and let yourself fall even more.
Now that you were very much aware of your feelings, it didn’t feel right to continue what you had with Leila.
You loved her, but you must not have loved her enough because you were still able to think of another woman.
You ended it with Leila on a Tuesday. She didn't have a game until Sunday and you figured that was enough time for her to not be distracted. Surprisingly, Leila took it well, as if she knew this was coming all along.
And it felt like the universe was laughing at you, because after you broke up with Leila, you received a text from Alexia.
I’m getting married
You felt your heart drop. You had to put your phone back in your pocket because your hands were trembling badly.
You were suddenly desperate to do something, anything, before it was too late.
Even though a part of you felt like it was already too late.
—
Alexia arrived at the airport three hours early. She spent those three hours walking from one end to the other, flowers in hand. Her hands shaking and her mind racing with the thoughts of finally seeing you again.
She passed by the exact spot you said your goodbyes two years ago, both of you holding back your tears as you exchanged promises that things would be okay. The moment you walked away and went out of sight, Alexia finally let her tears fall, feeling that a part of her left alongside you.
In the middle of pacing around the airport, Olga called, and Alexia felt guilty because her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of you. She instantly buried the feeling of discomfort the moment Olga talked about their wedding.
Alexia was getting married to Olga. Her mind shouldn’t picture you the moment weddings are mentioned. She closed her eyes and bid Olga goodbye, not remembering what her fiancé called her about.
You were her best friend. Nothing more. Why was it that even after years apart, her heart still ached and yearned for you?
Hours later, when you texted her to let her know that you’ve landed, Alexia made her way to the gate. She stood there, flowers tightly in hand, tapping her foot anxiously.
You two had been slowly rebuilding your friendship. You texted each other, but never a phone call, and Alexia was nervous to hear your voice again after going such a long time without it.
Alexia was the first to spot you. You were dragging your suitcase, looking from side to side, as if urgently searching for something. And the moment your eyes found hers, your entire body lit up—the whole airport could tell that you finally found what you were looking for.
Everything drowned out and to Alexia nothing else seemed to matter anymore, her only focus was on you. On how your eyes shone with happiness and how your lips slowly curved into the smile that Alexia had missed so much. When you were finally in front of her, something clicked within her, and every hurt, every anger, every sadness she had felt because of you disappeared and she was left with the feeling of nothing but love and fondness for the girl standing in front of her.
You were here and no matter how hard Alexia tried, she couldn’t feel half of what she felt with you with anyone else.
“Alexia, hi.”
Alexia didn’t say anything back, instead she immediately embraced you, hugging you with everything she had. She leaned down and buried her face in the crook of your neck, closing her eyes and squeezing you even more—just savoring the moment of finally having you there again.
Alexia thought back to the last time she hugged you, trying to remember every single detail—from the way your arms were wrapped around Alexia’s neck, to the way your breath tickled her ear—trying to decide whether anything had changed.
And when you kissed the side of Alexia’s head, laughing into her ears because she wouldn’t let go, Alexia decided that no matter how many years had passed and no matter how many arguments you two got into, your hug still felt the same.

Alexia,
The moment that has always replayed in my head for years is the night of your 18th birthday. We went to the beach after dinner and crashed someone’s party, and we both got really drunk. It was fun but the thing that made that night so memorable was because it was the first time someone kissed me and that person was you.
The moment it happened, it felt like everything fell into place, you know? I understood why even my five year old self hated seeing you cry and just wanted to protect you from everything so you’ll never cry again. I understood why out of all the people in the room, my eyes always search for yours. I love you, Alexia. It’s always been you.
I was the happiest I’ve ever been that night. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world for being able to be in your arms.
But when you woke up the next day saying that you wished that night never happened, it felt like the missing puzzle piece in my heart that you completed the night before disappeared again.
Ever since then, I tried so hard to fill this gaping hole in my heart. I made it my life’s mission to go out there and meet the most perfect girl in the world just to try and replicate what I felt for you. But every time I’m with someone, every time I’m face to face with some perfect girl, your face appears and I’m reminded that they’re not you.
I love you, Alexia. I love you more with all the ups and downs we’ve had. I love every part of you and I love you with every beat of my heart.
I think I’ve always known that I was in love with you. I was just never brave enough to label it as that. So I didn’t. It wasn’t until recently that I realized: I couldn’t just sit here and watch you marry someone else.
You could call it selfish, but I wasn’t going to risk the slightest possibility of you feeling the same way that I do.
I know Olga loves you, but I also know that she’ll never love you as much as I do.
To quote your favourite poet:
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you directly without problems or pride:
I love you like this because I don’t know any other way to love,
except in this form in which I am not nor are you,
so close that your hand upon my chest is mine,
so close that your eyes close with my dreams”
If you think that this is all wrong, please just ignore it, and I promise I’ll never talk about this again. But if you somehow feel the same, meet me at our usual spot at the beach tonight, 10 p.m.
Yours always,
y/n

It wasn’t like you didn’t know this would happen. This was why you never wanted to risk your friendship because of some silly feelings. You knew Alexia wouldn’t feel the same, your confession would go to waste, and you would be sitting on the beach, alone at night, waiting for someone who was never going to show up.
You thought of calling Alexia, to ask her what she thought of your letter. But you decided against it, this was humiliating enough.
Maybe Alexia was embarrassed? Maybe she felt bad for you. Maybe she didn’t know how to talk to you now, knowing that you had all these feelings for her. Or maybe Alexia just didn’t want to talk to you anymore.
You let out a big sigh and buried your face in your hands. You didn’t know what you were thinking. All those years of friendship… that was all it was: friendship. You should’ve known.
You checked your phone again. Nothing. No texts or calls.
You let out a laugh. Alexia wasn’t stuck in traffic nor was she late, she was simply not coming.
Feeling your eyes start to well up with tears, you took a deep breath before standing up. You didn’t plan on going back to your parents’ house just yet, stupidly enough a part of you still had hope that Alexia was going to show up. You needed to walk around and distract yourself, sitting in the same spot that contained so many memories of her wasn’t helping.
You took another glance at your phone, and when there was still nothing, you wished your heart wasn’t so weak when it came to Alexia.
—
Alexia never believed in fate or anything.
To be fair, she was five years old and watching movies where the princess always ended up with the prince and lived happily ever after seemed too good to be true.
That was until she met you.
You, who had your little legs outstretched on the grass as you snack on your cookies. You, who didn’t hesitate to wipe away Alexia’s tears when she tripped on your legs. You, who kept on apologizing even though it wasn’t your fault that Alexia wasn’t looking at where she was going, but you were trying to make her feel better.
You had been a constant in her life ever since then, with your wise wisdoms and never-ending ability to make Alexia laugh.
Alexia then understood that fate and destiny really did exist, because it was fate that brought Alexia to the playground at that exact moment—at that exact second—so she could meet you.
When Alexia lost you, she didn’t want to believe in fate anymore, because why was the universe so cruel that it left her on the floor of her apartment, crying and begging for you to come back.
You disappeared from Alexia’s life and Alexia saw firsthand how the world became gloomier, how her days seemed to drag on longer without your presence.
Just when Alexia completely lost all hope, the universe had other plans, and it was destiny that she left her phone in her hotel room that morning, because if she didn’t, her phone would be in her pocket as she was thrown to the swimming pool because Vicky and Esmee decided that playing a prank on their captain was a brilliant idea. Her phone would be ruined and she wouldn’t be greeted with a text message from you.
A simple text telling Alexia that you were proud of her, but it left her breathless because she hadn’t talked to you in a year. You two had no contact for a year, yet you were still proud of her. Like always.
Fate, destiny, the universe, and all of that had brought you to her, took you away, then brought you back.
It was also fate that made Alexia reach down into her purse and open the envelope you’d given her before parting ways earlier—something tugging in her heart, screaming at her to read the letter you wrote to her, even though she told herself that she would do it after you’ve left the city.
And sometimes, the universe had a sense of humour, because at that moment, as Alexia finished reading the last sentence of your handwriting, her fiancé appeared in the doorway of their shared bedroom.
“Alexia?”
“I’m sorry.”
—
The only thought Alexia had as she drove over the speed limit was to hope that you were still there, waiting for her. Just like what you had been doing all of these years.
All of those wasted years where you two could be together if it weren’t for the doubts that forbade you from truly loving each other the way you were meant to.
“You’ve always loved her more than anything, Alexia. Even when she’s a thousand miles away, even when you two weren’t on speaking terms… She’s still the one you love the most. I could never compete with her.”
From this whole thing, Alexia was just sorry that she had to drag someone else into her mess. She would never forgive herself for saying “yes” to someone, knowing that her heart wasn’t fully in it.
“Olga, I never meant to make you feel like you were at constant competition with her. I really do love you.”
“But not as much as you love her.”
“I never planned on staying in love with her forever, I really did try to love someone else—with you. And I did. All these years together, I meant everything I said and everything I did.”
“I’ve always known that she would always come first to you, yet I still convinced myself that that would change one day. I know it made me a shitty person, but I was happy when you fought with her, because I thought that was finally it, you know? Finally you’d move on from her. But not even the fall out made you love her any less.”
Alexia would take whatever life will throw at her for hurting someone so deeply like she did to Olga.
But the only thing she could do right now was to find you and hoped that you were the happy ending fate had in store for her. The happy ending she’d dreamt of all this time.
—
When Alexia couldn’t find you at the beach, she figured she was too late. She tried calling and texting, but you weren’t replying to any of it.
So she went to your parents’ place, taking a slight detour to your favourite florist, picking up the bouquet they had ready, not wanting to waste another second away from you. Alexia figured you must’ve left thinking that she was rejecting you. Even if Alexia wasn’t in love with you anymore, she wouldn't have just let you sit there all alone, fearing the worst. She needed you to know that.
Your childhood home was dark and quiet. All the lights were off and Alexia remembered that your parents were in Mollet del Vallés, visiting your grandparents.
You weren’t here but Alexia wasn’t going anywhere else. She would just be there and wait for you—she had waited decades for you, a few hours would mean nothing. She sat down on the pavement, not caring how dirty her jeans were going to be, and pulled out her phone from her pocket. She called the only person she could think of.
It took a few more tries for Mapi to pick up, and once the call got connected, Alexia spoke into the phone, “I have a problem.”
Mapi’s voice was groggy. “It’s midnight, you dumbass. Can you call me later?”
“No, this is urgent.”
Alexia can feel Mapi roll her eyes on the other end of the line, “When Ingrid kills me for being too noisy and waking her up, I’m blaming it on you.”
“Well, in that case, I hope she does wake up then.”
“Tonta.”
“María,” Alexia let out a tired exhale. “Do you know where Y/n is?”
Mapi groaned in reply. “Estúpida. I was asleep, how should I know?”
Alexia pressed her hand over her eyes and groaned, “I think I screwed up.”
Just when Alexia was about to elaborate further, even though she knew Mapi was half asleep, someone called out her name. Someone whose voice sounded exactly like you.
“Ale?”
Alexia quickly opened her eyes. It really was you.
“Y/n.”
And there you were, standing in front of Alexia, head cocked to the side as if trying to figure out why Alexia was sitting there in front of your house at midnight.
Alexia quickly put her phone back to her ear, “Uhm, I’ll call you back—Tomorrow. I’ll call you tomorrow. Goodnight, María.” As soon as she ended the call, she quickly stood up.
Your arms were crossed over your chest, you were making yourself smaller, you looked so unsure of yourself that Alexia wanted nothing but to hug you and tell you that she loved you more than she’d ever loved anyone.
But all you had was apprehension written all over your face. Alexia understood. You must’ve thought that by her not showing up, Alexia didn’t feel the way you did. “What are you doing here?”
Alexia gulped. Now that you were in front of her, Alexia didn’t know what to say. “Did we really kiss on my 18th birthday?” Alexia blurted out.
“What?” You were confused and still reeling from the embarrassment of the whole thing. You couldn’t process what she said.
“I don’t remember it,” Alexia continued. “I swear. I swear on Messi.”
“What?” Your tone was full of surprise. “You don’t remember?”
“No,” Alexia sighed, looking at you wistfully. “I would never stop talking about it if I did.”
You went silent for a few seconds, your face full of confusion. Alexia let you take it all in. “You don’t remember,” you stated in a questioning tone. “But you said you wished it never happened.”
“I couldn’t have said that, because I don’t remember—”
“Oh my god, you don’t remember?” It was like you finally realized what that meant. “Oh my god,” you groaned, placing your hands over your face. “I spent years thinking—I convinced myself that I wasn’t in love with you because you rejected me—”
“I didn’t!” Alexia interjected. “I would never– I was so hopelessly in love with you.”
You looked at her and your face turned paler if that was even possible. Your mouth agape, as if you wanted to say something but you couldn’t. How could you? When your best friend was telling you that she—
“Wait,” you realized something. “Did you say ‘was’? As in past tense?” You felt the hope that grew plummet to the bottom of the stomach. You knew it was too good to be true. “Is that why you didn’t meet me earlier?”
“No… No, Y/n, I read your letter too late. I didn’t know you were waiting for me. I would’ve dropped everything in a heartbeat to get to you.”
“Oh.”
Suddenly you were laughing. Your laughter echoing throughout the empty neighbourhood. Alexia stared at you, unsure of what this meant but she couldn’t help the growing happiness in her heart with every laugh that escaped your lips. “I should’ve just texted you, right? I wanted to be romantic with the letter.”
Alexia shot you a comforting smile. At least fate brought you both here, to this moment.
After your laughter died down, you took a hesitant step forward. “But… do you really feel… the way that I do?”
Alexia sighed, being the one to close the gap between you and took your hands in hers. “If my years and years of pining weren't obvious, I feel the same. I’m in love with you. I still am. I never stopped, if we’re being honest. I broke things off with Olga, it wasn’t right to stay with her if my heart belonged to someone else. She deserves way better than some girl who was too much of a coward to confess that she’s in love with her best friend and ended up stringing her along for years, knowing that she would never love her the same.”
“So you…” you were at loss for words.
“I’m sorry, Y/n,” Alexia continued. “This whole thing is a mess. I need to cancel my wedding preparations, I have to talk to a lot of people, but the only thing I know right now is that… I can’t let you go again. You’re my soulmate, I’m sure of it. I’ve been sure of it ever since we were kids. I won’t love someone as much and as deeply as I love you. So… yeah.”
You didn’t reply to Alexia’s statement, instead you placed one hand on the back of Alexia’s neck and pulled her in for a kiss. Once your lips met, Alexia’s mind went to two things: how she never wanted to kiss anyone else in her life and how exactly did she forget your soft lips when they tasted like heaven?
Alexia’s hands wandered to rest on your neck, caressing the smooth skin that felt electric under her touch. Alexia’s mind was full with thoughts of you. Your lips on hers. Your hands around her waist. Your perfume engulfing her. Your nose brushing against hers. Your laugh vibrating against her lips.
Your lips curved upwards into a grin and Alexia could taste the happiness on your lips. She leaned forward once more for a peck on your smile and when you scrunch your nose in response, Alexia pressed another kiss to the tip of your nose.
“That was… everything I’ve ever dreamed of.” Alexia hoped that you couldn’t hear how erratic her heart was beating.
“We can take things slow,” you whispered against her lips.
“I’ve waited my whole life for you, I don’t want to take it slow,” Alexia whispered back. “But… I agree. We don’t have to rush this. We have the rest of our lives to make up for lost time.”
Suddenly your eyes drifted to the flowers on the pavement, raising your eyes at that. “Is that supposed to be for me?”
Alexia’s eyes widened when she realized the discarded flowers, quickly taking them and shoving them to you. “Uhm. Yes. These… these are for you.”
“They’re beautiful,” you replied, taking the flowers from her but your gaze never leaving her face. “Thank you.”
She pouted when she realized you hadn’t even glanced at it. “You didn’t even look at it!”
You grinned at her, leaning forward and wrapping an arm around her waist. Your face back in its favourite spot against her neck. “I bet they’re beautiful, just like you.”
“Okay, flirt.”
Alexia quickly stepped back when she noticed that the flowers were squeezed in between you two. “You’re ruining my flowers.”
“I’m not,” you scoffed. You looked down and scrunched your nose at the sight. At least they still had the beautiful pink colour intact, your favourite. “Okay, kind of. But that was your fault.”
Alexia took your hand that wasn’t holding the flower and brought it to her lips for a kiss. “How was it my fault?”
“I couldn’t resist hugging you.”
Alexia laughed and wrapped her arms around your shoulder. Swaying you side to side and sighing in content. Everything felt good. It felt like everything had fallen into place.
“Now you’re ruining the flowers even more!” your voice muffled with the way your face was squeezed into Alexia’s neck.
“I’ll get you new ones, mi amor. In fact, I’ll get you the whole shop.”
You laughed into her neck, placing a gentle kiss there. “I’m holding you on to that.”
Alexia hummed. “I love you, cariño. I missed you so much.”
“Me too,” you replied.
“Say it back,” Alexia prodded, placing her cheek on the top of your head.
“Huh?”
“I… love… you.” Alexia said slowly.
Alexia felt your giggles tickle her neck.
“Princessa, say it back.”
“You already know the answer anyway.”
“Mi vida.”
“Alexia. I love you too.”
Alexia did know the answer—she had heard you say it a million times over and over. Despite that, Alexia still wanted to hear it a million times more.
—
Alexia had been to Manchester before but it was still hard to keep up with how busy the airport was. She couldn’t spot you—not at first. All she could see was people rushing to get somewhere despite it being the early hours of the morning.
Alexia dragged her luggage to a secluded corner and pulled out her phone to give you a call. She put her phone to her ear and kept on looking around while waiting for you to pick up.
It was on the second ring when Alexia spotted you. You were sandwiched between people and you looked so small that Alexia would’ve missed you if she didn’t see the giant flower bouquet you were holding.
Once you answered the call, Alexia laughed into the speaker, feeling her heart grow ten times bigger with the amount of love she felt for you. Alexia still couldn’t believe she was finally here, just a few steps away from the person she had missed so much.
“Why are you laughing?”
“Because,” Alexia sighed in content. How did she spend so long convincing herself that she would be fine settling for someone other than you? “That bouquet is way bigger than you.”
As soon as Alexia said that, she saw you move your head in all directions trying to locate her. “You’re here. Where are you?”
“I am here.” Alexia stated, enjoying how clueless you looked.
“Alexia.”
“You always complain about how tall I am, how can you not see me?” Alexia kept her eyes on you—from your furrowed eyebrows to the small pout on your lips, one hand holding your phone to your ear and the other holding the flowers. She laughed even more when you kept on whining and your pout kept getting bigger as each second passed.
“You are annoying,” you groaned. “Can you just tell me where you are? I’m hungry.”
“Not because you miss me?” Alexia teased. “You only want me because I spoil you with lots of food.”
“Yes, that’s true!” you laughed. “So hurry up and tell me where you are so we can get food, Alexia Putellas Segura.”
“Ooh she’s using my full name now.”
“It’s because I’m getting impatient!”
Alexia laughed, finally dragging her luggage and walking towards your direction.
Once she was behind you, Alexia ended the call and tapped your shoulder, making you jump slightly. Alexia chuckled to herself at how ridiculous she was for finding everything you did adorable.
You immediately turned around and once recognition settled in, you squealed and jumped to hug her. “Alexia! You’re blonde again!”
“Mi amor! I missed you.”
When you broke apart, Alexia’s eyes started to well with tears. You were finally in front of her, smiling at her with your big smile and sparkly eyes. Two months without having you near felt so long.
“Baby,” you cooed. “Why are you crying?”
“Just emotional,” Alexia squeezed her eyes shut to stop the tears from escaping. “I missed your stupid face.”
“No one will be able to guess that you're the crybaby in this relationship.”
Alexia scowled at you. She would never admit that she cried more than you. Besides, no one would be able to verify this fact because she never cried in front of anyone, except you. “I am not.”
“Sure. Can we get that breakfast now?”
Looking at you behind your big flower bouquet, Alexia felt breathless, only because she still couldn’t believe that you were hers. At the same time though, she felt like she was able to properly breathe again, because you were finally back in her arms.
—
“Hey, Ale?”
“Yeah?”
You sat on the passenger seat, absentmindedly playing with Alexia’s hand that wasn’t holding the steering wheel.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to drive?”
Alexia gave you a side glance. “Are you questioning my driving abilities? When it was me who drove you around most of your life.”
“Maybe,” you kissed the back of Alexia’s hand. “You’ve never driven outside of Spain before. I’m kind of scared right now. For my life and for my brand new car.”
Alexia laughed, “Driving is the same everywhere, amor.”
“Fine,” you leaned over the console and pressed a kiss to Alexia’s cheek. “I trust you.”
Alexia scrunched her nose in response. “Stop kissing me and tell me where I should go next instead.”
“Just keep on going straight,” you responded. “Then turn left.”
“Now?”
“Are you seeing any left turns right now?”
“You just told me to turn left,” Alexia whined. “You’re such a bad navigator.”
“You should’ve let me drive.”
“You must be tired from work,” Alexia let go of her hand that was in your grip to caress your face. “I just wanted to do something nice for you.”
You looked at Alexia, taking the her hand in yours again. “So thoughtful, always a gentlewoman. Thank you, Ale.”
“I am thoughtful huh.”
You poked your tongue out at her in response. “I should stop before your ego gets too big.”
Alexia grinned at you. “I think my ego has been big ever since I knew I was your first kiss.”
“Yeah, yeah,” you rolled her eyes playfully. “You’re my first kiss, Alexia Putellas Segura. Just like I am yours.”
“The one I don’t have a single memory of,” Alexia noted. “How could you let me forget what would be the most meaningful experience of my life?”
“It’s not my fault you’re a lightweight,” you pinched Alexia’s cheeks to which the blonde laughed in response. “But hey, at least I tried to remind you of that night, didn’t I? About a thousand times these past few days if I remember correctly.”
Alexia hummed in thought, puckering her lips. “I think I need the reminder once again.”
You giggled and kissed the palm of Alexia’s hand instead. “Later at home, okay? I can’t have you crashing my car.”
“I’d like that.” Alexia took a quick glance at you and smiled—one that reached her eyes, one that showed you just how happy she was.
But you were suddenly thinking of home and how you used it to describe your Manchester apartment, even though you never thought of it that way. That was, until Alexia came to visit, leaving her things scattered around like she always did in your old place in Barcelona.
You yearned for days like this, with Alexia driving you back home, eating takeout on the couch as you watched a football match you couldn’t care less about. You let Alexia talk your ear off, giving her commentary on the game, you nodding along like you were totally invested in it too.
Home.
Manchester had never felt like home. It was an apartment with all of your things, where you slept and showered and ate, but you never considered it to be your home.
Alexia visited one day and changed the meaning of the place entirely.
You lived here for years without Alexia, but you couldn’t imagine it without her anymore.
You looked at your best friend as she sang along to a Spanish song, she was so off-key. A grin instantly made its way to your lips.
Home was wherever Alexia was.
—
It was a no-brainer, really.
There was no reason to stay in Manchester when your heart lived in Barcelona.
It had been on your mind since you had to leave Alexia again as you boarded the plane back to Manchester a few months ago. It was the only thing you could think of as you waved goodbye to Alexia as she went back to Barcelona, her black cap and sunglasses covering her face, but you could tell there were tears running down her cheeks.
You knew she was scared that history would repeat itself and you two would argue again. But you also knew that it was different this time. There were no uncertain feelings in your chest, no other girl next to Alexia making you feel replaced. You were certain of your love for Alexia.
But it was time to come home. You knew that the moment Alexia kissed you for the second time.
You hadn’t told Alexia, but you were planning on coming back in a couple of months. You wanted it to be a surprise.
But the night before Alexia left, as you savoured the feeling of her pressed up against you, you came to the conclusion that you need to come back to Barcelona sooner than planned.
Having Alexia next to you felt so good. You missed it a lot. You knew you couldn’t stand even another month being away from her, so you changed your entire timeline and decided to move it up so you were coming back in two weeks.
You had a lot on your to-do list. It was a hassle to move away from the place you’ve lived in for years. It was even harder when you wanted to do it within a few weeks.
Alexia thought it was starting again—the space between you.
You didn’t want to ruin the surprise.
“Ale, you're just being a distraction right now.”
Which was true—you had less time to reply to texts and calls in between trying to get rid of your furniture and trying to cut your lease short—but Alexia didn't know that so it wasn’t the right word to use.
Out of context, it sounded harsh, and you figured you could’ve said it better.
Alexia ended the call abruptly and ignored all your texts for the rest of the day.
—
Turns out, Alexia decided to ignore you for a whole week. It was understandable, you royally screwed up, but the only thing that kept you from flying to Barcelona as soon as you figured out she was ignoring you was the thought that you were coming back soon. For good.
You left Manchester and years worth of memories behind on a Monday. Your parents welcomed you back with open arms and you spent the night eating your mother’s home cooked meal.
The next day, you knew Alexia had training until noon. So you went to a florist, bought the biggest bouquet of Alexia’s favourite flowers, and you met up with a Barcelona staff member with clear instructions that he was to give it to Alexia. And to make sure that she actually read the note attached to it.
Alexia, my love
Meet me at our spot at 4pm
You’re going to be done by that time, so you better show up
Yours,
y/n

You sat at your usual spot by the beach, the same spot where you got your heart broken a few months ago when Alexia didn’t show up. This time, instead of waiting for Alexia with dread and a heavy heart, all you felt was excitement at getting to see her again.
This time, you knew that Alexia loved you too and you didn’t have to worry about her not showing up.
Alexia loved you too and you weren't going to let her go. It was that thought that kept on repeating in your head, the one that propelled you to leave Manchester behind and come back to Barcelona. As much as you loved it over there, you knew it would never beat the feeling of having Alexia next to you.
You couldn’t wait to be with Alexia. Really be with her, not through a phone screen where her sleeping face would disappear once her phone ran out of battery.
“Amor?”
You craned your head as soon as you heard that voice. Alexia was still as beautiful as ever, despite only wearing some sweatpants and a hoodie that she stole from you when you were still in high school.
“Hi.” Alexia put her hand up in a little wave. You smiled because Alexia looked so nervous, it was adorable.
You stood up and walked towards her slowly, your face still amused at the way she was biting her lips—a nervous habit of hers. When you were inches apart you spoke, “Hi back. Why do you look so nervous?”
Alexia’s eyes drifted anywhere but you. “I’m not nervous.”
“You totally are,” you said, trying to catch her eyes. “Can I hug you?”
Alexia finally returned your stare and once your eyes met, Alexia’s entire posture softened and she leaned forward to engulf you in a hug.
“I missed you,” Alexia exhaled deeply. “It’s only been a few weeks but I missed you.”
You wrapped your arms around her neck, whispering that you missed her too. You breathed in her familiar scent and sighed. You felt at home.
“You didn’t tell me you were coming,” Alexia said once you broke apart.
You shrugged. “I wanted it to be a surprise.”
“Well, I am very surprised.” Alexia took your hands in hers. “I’m happy you’re here.”
“Can I kiss you now? Or are you still too nervous to do that?” you asked, your tone teasing. “ I can’t have you passing out on me.”
Alexia rolled her eyes, a small smile on her lips. “I’m not nervous.”
“So can I kiss you or not?” you asked once more, a grin on her face.
“Of course you can.”
And that was all you needed before you leaned forward and captured her lips with yours.
You kissed your girlfriend gently, you kissed her slowly while trying to convey just how much you missed her—how lonely your nights were without her to cuddle you to sleep and how cold your mornings were without her warm smile.
And when Alexia traced your bottom lip with her tongue, you couldn’t comprehend how fast your heart was beating. After countless kisses, you still felt the same way you did when Alexia first kissed you at eighteen—all fluttery as a thousand butterflies rummaged around your stomach.
Alexia’s lips on yours felt tingly, and Alexia’s hands that were caressing your waist felt like they had belonged there all along.
When you broke apart, Alexia’s hands stayed where they were, her forehead resting against yours while you both tried to catch your breath.
“I love you,” Alexia whispered. “I know I say that a lot, but I mean it every time.”
You hummed, your lips curling up into a smile. “I love you too.”
“I’m sorry, cariño, for ignoring you. I was just… sad, I guess.”
“No, I'm sorry, I shouldn’t have called you a distraction.”
“It’s just–” Alexia sighed, she was really beating herself up over this. “You’re supposed to tell me if you’re unhappy. I’m your girlfriend.”
You immediately shake your head. “I’m not unhappy—I could never be unhappy with you.”
“Then?”
You took a deep breath before continuing, “You were a distraction, but only because—Ale?”
Alexia blinked back, as if she didn’t quite understand what you said. She took a step away from your touch and turned her back towards you.
You were confused for a moment before you remembered how much of an overthinker she was.
“Ale. Baby,” you gently placed your hands on her shoulders and turned her around. Your heart broke at the sight of Alexia’s furrowed brows and the slight tremble in her bottom lips.
“Are you—Did you come back to break up with me?”
“Of course not,” you laughed. “Alexia—”
“Don’t—” Alexia tried to turn back around and leave, but you quickly grabbed her arms to prevent her from leaving.
“Alexia,” your hand travelled down to her hands, intertwining them with yours. “Look at me.”
You could see tears starting to well in her and you sighed at how much she resembled a kicked puppy. “Baby,” you cooed. “It’s nothing bad, c’mon, please don’t cry.”
“It’s not?” Alexia whispered out.
“No,” you flashed her a comforting smile. “I would never break up with you, you should know that by now.”
“Oh,” Alexia looked down, sniffling. “Then why? I’m a distraction to you?”
You lifted Alexia’s chin up with your finger. “Moving across countries isn’t an easy thing to do, you know. I have to talk to the hospital about my contract, I have to talk to my agent about my lease, I have to sell all my furniture, I have to meet with my friends to say goodbye—”
“What—”
“That’s why you were kind of distracting me, because I need to get a lot of things done if I want to come home to my girlfriend as soon as possible.”
When realization dawned on Alexia, her eyes widened and you laughed at how comical she looked. Alexia placed her hand on your mouth, muffling your laughs. “Stop laughing at me. You’re coming back?”
You took Alexia’s hand away from your mouth and grinned at her. Alexia’s eyebrows were raised, her face expectant as she waited for an answer.
You smiled fondly at her expressions before you answered her question with a kiss.
One second into the kiss, a giggle escaped your mouth, causing Alexia to break you apart, narrowing her eyes at your interruption. “Sorry, you were just too adorable.”
“Glad to know you think me crying is adorable.”
You placed a kiss on her cheek. “I don’t like seeing you cry but I wasn’t even breaking up with you, you big baby.”
“You’re so mean,” Alexia pouted. “But you’re really coming back? For good?”
“I am. I can’t be apart from you anymore. I love you and I want to wake up next to you every morning and fall asleep next to you every night.”
“Cheesy.”
You scrunched up your nose. “Shut up. I’m trying to be cute.”
“So… will you be asking me to move in with you then?”
“Well…” you gave a sheepish grin. “I was hoping you would be the one to ask me that, since I don’t exactly have a place here anymore. Unless you want to move in with my parents, that’s okay too.”
Alexia laughed and pecked your lips. You felt warm all over. “Let’s go look for a new place. My place is too small for all our kids anyway.”
“Kids?” you looked at Alexia with wide eyes. “Alexia. Did you skip the entire wedding?”
Alexia wrapped her arms around your waist, pulling you close. “I’m talking about Nala. And Mr. Oreo, your stinky cat. Add Vicky, Jana, Esmee to the list too.”
You slapped Alexia’s arm in response. “You scared me there for a second. We need to get married first, you know. No skipping a chapter.”
Alexia laughed, kissing the top of your head. You looked at her and the sight of your girlfriend with a big smile and eyes that displayed so much happiness gave you the sudden urge to kiss her again. So you did.
With the feeling of Alexia smiling against your lips, you knew that no matter where life takes you, you’d always come home to her.

Y/n,
I still remember the moment you left to go to Manchester. I remember watching you leave and I remember feeling so helpless because I knew that things would change. I saw you walk away and I have never wanted to scream your name so badly—just so you would look at me one last time. But I didn’t.
I didn’t, because you were off to do amazing things and I couldn’t keep you here as much as I wanted to. And because a part of me felt relieved that we’d be spending less time together because it would give me the time I needed to move on from you.
It worked for a while. My heart didn’t break into pieces every time I saw you and Leila on social media, and my heart didn’t feel like it’s being squeezed every time you talked about her.
My daydreams about you stopped, I didn’t hear your laugh in the back of my head at random times of the day anymore. I thought that was it. I was moving on, and I started to swallow the bitter truth that we weren’t meant to be together.
But then one night you called me. It was in the middle of the night and you couldn’t stop laughing because of a joke you just thought of. You asked if I was asleep, and I knew you’d tell me to go back to sleep if I said yes, so I lied. Only because I missed your voice and because hearing your laugh again after so long made my heart feel whole again when I didn’t even realize it had a missing piece.
I realized that, no matter how hard I try to convince myself, I would never love anyone as much as I love you.
I started to spend each night cursing at the stars, being angry and asking why the universe gave you to me, but at the same time, never letting me completely have you.
I settled for someone else because I thought that you’d never look at me the way I looked at you. I loved someone else and their name tasted just fine on my lips but I kept on wishing that it was your name that I was whispering into the dark nights instead. And I had to come to terms that I wasn’t going to spend the rest of my life with you in the way that I’d hoped, so I said ‘yes’ to someone else.
But things happened, and I found out that you had been looking at me the same way all along—hidden glances, longing gazes, the desperate yearning to know how it feels like to love each other in ways no one but us can understand.
You’re my best friend, Y/n. You’re the bestest friend I’ve ever had and now, instead of cursing at the stars, I thank them each night because the universe gave you to me and now I have the chance to be able to love and admire every part of you.
Now your name is the only one I’d whisper into the nights—the nights where it’s just us two and your face that’s illuminated by the moonlight is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Now you’re the person I said ‘yes’ to because you’re the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
It’s been a journey, hasn’t it? I never would have thought that we’d be here, and that in a few hours I’d get to call you my wife.
I love you, mi amor. I have loved you since I was five and didn’t know anything about the world. I have loved you when we were apart, when nothing else was left to say between us, when the mornings without your texts turned my world darker.
And I have loved you when we’re together, when I look to the side and you’re always there next to me, when your hands feel like they’re my long-lost limb—your hands holding mine, your hands around my waist, your hands tangled through my hair, your hands around my neck, your hands holding me at night when it’s quiet except for the sound of your heart beating in sync with mine.
I have loved you for so long that it’s now a part of me and I know that I would never go a day without loving you.
And despite knowing you for most of my life, I still get nervous around you. So I’m writing this letter in case I couldn’t blurt out my vows because of how you’d be looking at me—as if I’m the only star in your sky. I hope that by reading this, you know just how much I love you and how I don’t ever plan to stop.
You make me the happiest. And I’ll spend the rest of my life making sure that you’re the happiest too.
I’ll see you in a few hours. Can’t wait to see you walk down the aisle :)
Yours forever and ever and ever,
Alexia

Paring: Young!Sirius Black X Fem!Lupin!Reader
Summary: One argument gets a little too detailed.
Every sibling had a counterpart. Whether it be one was nice, and one was mean. Or one was smart, and one was incredibly dumb. Every sibling had their contradiction. Remus and Y/n Lupin were no different in the grand scheme of things, but on the outside, they were different people.
Remus wore robes of maroon and gold. Y/n wore robes of green and silver. They were only a year apart, but they were so incredibly different. Remus felt like from the minute she was born, they were meant to argue. Her sarcastic comments were unmatched, and her wit was incredible.
To be frank, it brought great smiles to James and Sirius’ faces when the Lupin siblings got into it. It was undoubtedly funny and incredibly jaw-dropping to watch them argue. It was a constant back and forth argument with how they differed. If one said something snarky, the following comment would be even better.
Sirius had never been on the receiving end of it until he had, and it brought a bright red flush to his face to get told off by the female Slytherin. Now Remus understood what was so fun about watching them argue. Remus and James had never seen Sirius look so flustered before.
This argument was supposed to be no different, “Are you fucking daft?” Y/n retorted, “Merlin, your voice makes my ears bleed.” Sirius muttered.
She quirked an eyebrow, “Does it now? Maybe you should listen to yourself. All you do is blah blah blah. You never shut up.”
“Well, maybe you should shut me up!” Sirius shouted, and Remus stilled, “Should I now?” Y/n approached slowly.
Sirius was quickly backed up against the wall and gulping down breaths nervously, “And what makes you think you deserve that?”
“Cat caught your tongue, darling?” Y/n purred, twisting his tie, “So tough on the outside, but as soon as you get what you want, you can no longer talk.”
Y/n leaned to whisper in his ear, “Maybe I should go talk to Regulus. You wouldn’t like that would you?”
Hands tightened on her waist as he clenched his jaw, making her chuckle, “That’s right. You wouldn’t like that, mm?”
“You forget Regulus is one of my closest friends.” Y/n teased, “Maybe, you’d enjoy the same things he does.”
“What is that suppose to mean?” Sirius growled, “What do you think, love?”
People gathered, watching them do this in the middle of a corridor, “Maybe if you use your words like a good boy next time. I’ll do what you want.”
Y/n pulled away with a wink leaving Sirius speechless and blushing like mad. Remus was appalled. Yes, he knew that Y/n could have any guy she wanted in the castle. That wasn’t new knowledge. But watching it happen, especially to Sirius, was an entirely different process.
“Alright.” James coughed, “Now that we know Sirius has a crush on Y/n and that your sister has slept with Regulus, I think we can move on.”
seriously part 3 please😍

Warnings: older reader, Steve is 21, teasing, alcohol consumption (just one wine glass each), oral sex m receiving, slight daddy kink, cum play, cum marking, squirting , p in v, unprotected sex, doubts, insecurities
“Steve? What-“ “You said to come back when I’m twenty one…so, can I take you out on a proper date now?”, he interrupted you, holding out his ID for you to look over.
He was indeed twenty one. Today was his birthday.
And that’s how you found yourself here. Getting ready for a date with Steve Rogers. Your daughters old highschool friend. God, was that pathetic? Was it weird? You couldn’t decide how you thought about it, but with every word it got worse and worse.
Sighing you looked at yourself in your favourite blue dress. You had worn it years ago to a date-which had turned out into you being dumped. From then on you hadn’t worn this dress but you also remember how much Steve had liked it-yeah, he had never been subtle about his crush. Not even a bit. A smile crept onto your lips when you remembered his many compliments, and also hated how your ex-husbands surname sounded from his lips.
“Oh wow, Mrs Dupont you look amazing. This colour makes your eyes pop-and the make up, incredible. Any man would be happy to take you out on a date. I’m sure he’ll- ouch Stacy! Don’t kick me-“
“Aren’t you tired of wearing high heels all the time? I mean, I get it, your legs are beautiful with them but even without you’d look good-“
“Is that a new haircut? It suits your face so good, Mrs Dupont”
You also remembered how Stacy had pulled him away or kicked him under the table at that, making you cringe slightly. What would she think of it? What if she’d be mad? That’s not even a question. Of course she’ll be mad. You’re twice his age and to that he was Stacys friend-or is? You had no idea. God, you had no idea what the hell you were doing.
Ten minutes before eight a car pulled up at your house and the door bell rang only a few minutes later. Walking over to door you looked one last time in the mirror in the hallway, pulling your eyebrows slightly together. God…People would rather assume you’re his mother. Which you could be looking at the age gap. Sighing you brushed your hand over your cheek to the corner of your eye, where already some smile wrinkles appeared.
Why was Steve so attracted to you? He waited three years to go on a date with you…
For some reason it warmed your chest a bit. It was actually really flattering.
Opening the door you gasped in surprise, a huge bouquet of roses beeing held up tight to your face. “Hello”, Steve’s gentle voice and smile made your heart flutter. “Hello, Stevie, you got me flowers?”, I asked in surprise, not remembering the last time I become a bouquet like that, probably somewhat in the begging of your marriage with Stacys father.
You saw a little blush creep over Steve’s face, even though most of it was hidden by the beard. “Yeah, you deserve nice things…”, he smiled when you took the bouquet and walked back into the house, leaving the door open for him. He followed you into the kitchen where you looked for a vase, after finding one filling it with water and putting on the table with the roses, “thank you, they’re beautiful”, you smiled, your gaze falling from the flowers to Steve.
Steve was eye candy from the higher shelf, he looked incredible, dressed in a suit and black button down. His beard was trimmed and the hair in a neat hairstyle . Nothing was out of place, not one small wrinkle or hair strand. But what him made look so good was probably the bashful and nervous smile as he looked you up and down. Steve loved your dress years ago and still did now. He had always dreamed of you at his arm in that dress. The colour was one of his favourite, maybe after tonight his favourite.
Coming closer Steve carefully placed his hands on your waist and leaned down, giving you a kiss on your cheek.
You had to be honest…it made your heartbeat quicken like never before from just a single kiss, to that on the cheek. It was sweet. Innocent. Just a small peck. He wasn’t demanding or trying to be in any way pushy.
“Let’s go, I made a reservation for us”, steve smiled, holding out his arm for you to take. A smile crept onto your lips as you wrapped your fingers around his biceps, unintentionally squeezing a bit more than necessary. Jesus, his arm felt- no, stop lusting over him.
Head shaking over yourself you let Steve lead you to his car-a truck, not something you liked driving in, but you wouldn’t complain. You knew the young kids liked trucks-god, did you just refer to him as young kid?
It actually surprised you when he opened the car door for you and helped you step into the car-but you were really thankful for that seeing how high the car was.
When Steve started the engine the radio immediately turned on, some older song playing. A few seconds later you recognised the melody to be ‘a long, long time’ which made you smile to yourself. Steve listened to that kind of music? Oldies? Huh. That was quiete the surprise…but a good one. An old soul in a young body, maybe.
“I like the song, Is it your Playlist?”, you then asked, looking form the side at the blond man. He smiled lightly, nodding. “Yes, I love that type of music…it’s just…I dunno, it’s calming”, he explained, turning the volume a bit higher.
Most of the car ride was spent quietly with both of you humming to the music that was from his surprisingly good playlist.
Around twenty minutes later you arrived at a rather higher praised restaurant that you definitely hadn’t expected from him, but it did make you feel nicely treated-not because of how classy and expensive this place was-more because of how much Steve wanted to impress you on the first date. Not that it was necessary because…this wouldn’t be going any further, right? Just one date and that’s all.
Just when you wanted to open the door Steve took your hand. “No-wait”, with that he quickly left the car, before walking around and opening the door for you and holding out his phone to you.
A chuckle escaped your lips as you placed your hand in his palm, for a second a thought occurred to you; how long did it take for Steve to stop being such a gentleman in a relationship? You’d never find it out….but it still made you curious. Your ex husband had stopped treating you like that soon after the pregnancy.
When you stepped out of the car Steve closed the door and you both walked to the restaurant, where a waitress walked up to you and lead you to your table. Steve pulled your chair back for you, then sat down in front of you. All this time he had a big smile on his lips as he watched you.
Happy and completely content about finally having you taken out on a date. It was a indescribable feeling.
The waitress gave you both menus, her gaze glued to Steve so long she nearly hit you with one of the menus. Of course she was watching him. She had no idea he was your date. She maybe even assumed he was…your son. God, this was a mistake. A huge mistake.
Sighing you looked down at the menu as the waitress asked what you’d want to drink. “Please the [_____] red wine for me and for Appetizer the fried jalapeños with breadsticks”, you said and looked back at Steve who was already looking at you. “Is it okay if I Take something alcoholic? We will be here for a while so you don’t have to worry about me being drunk or anything”, he made sure before ordering.
You thought about it for a second and nodded, then. If your evening would turn out shorter you could drive, you weren’t planning on anything besides the glass of wine. “Good, then red wine for me, too. And bruschetta for Appetizer”, Steve ordered, smiling at the young woman.
She furrowed her eyebrows slightly, before smiling at him bashfully. “Well…Im sure you’re allowed to drink but I have to follow the rules, so may I see your ID?”, she asked making the both of you blush. You immediately looked down, hiding your face a bit behind your open menu.
Steve took out his wallet, reaching for his ID which she immediately took and looked over for longer than necessary-you could feel her gaze on you for a moment, but when you looked up she was already smiling at Steve again.
“Okay Steve, a wine it is, I’ll bring you your food and wine soon, if that’s all. Anything for you, ma’am?” Hearing her refer to you that way made you feel even worse than before and you were 100% sure she did it on purpose.
It was a huge mistake to go on a date with a man this mich younger. Closer to being a teenager than a man, if you had to be honest. And Steve had to know it too. How could he feel comfortable with you on a date? The waitress probably assumed you were his mother. Or maybe she was now laughing with her friends about-
Steve’s gentle touch at your wrist made you look up from the menu, which you hadn’t been even really looking at. You had no idea for how long you’ve been staring at the same page without having read a single word.
“Don’t do this…don’t overthink it, please…let’s just enjoy the evening”, said Steve gently, holding your wrist. His own menu was already put aside. “I’m sorry Steve, it’s just…you’ve seen how she looked at us-or rather me. At you she was looking with heart-eyes”, you mumbled while putting your own menu now aside, too.
Steve bit his bottom lip at your words, hiding a small smile. It sounded a bit…like you were jealous. Of course he knew you meant the age difference, but he couldn’t stop himself from slowly grinning more. “Oh come on, I don’t care about what she said-and you shouldn’t either”, he said, slowly brushing his hand over yours and squeezing.
“You have no idea how happy I am that you agreed to the date, I…actually thought you would have changed your mind at this point-or maybe that you’d already be with someone. A woman like you should be alone. You should be cherished by the right man”, he kissed your knuckles, all this time looking in your eyes.
And for the first time since you couldn’t remember when, you blushed over a man’s compliment.
A quiet ‘oh’ escaped your lips while you slowly started smiling a bit bashfuly. “Thank you, Stevie, that’s…really kind.” You wanted to add something more when the waitress came to your table, putting down the wine glasses forcefully making you both pull back in surprise. You both hadn’t even noticed her coming.
“I’ll get your Appetizer in a minute”, she smiled at Steve, not acknowledging you before once again leaving you two alone.
Steve watched her with furrowed eyebrows before scoffing quietly. “That was rude”, he said, his gaze back on you. He slid his hand along the table closer to you, his palm up. Inviting. You were uncertain if you should take his hand, knowing the young waitress would be back soon, but in the end you decided to gently place your hand in his.
He smiled at you happily, his eyes carrying a happy glimmer in them. “What have you decided to order? For the main course?”, Steve asked, adding after, “I’m thinking about the steak with fries.”
“Hmm, at first I thought about the salmon but steak sounds good…maybe I’ll take the steak instead”, you thought, looking into the menu once again. “Oh or shrimps…god, I don’t know I’ll take what the chef recommends. That way I won’t have to decide”, you laughed, shaking you head at your own inability to choose.
Steve chuckled and opened his mouth to answer but the waitress from before came. “So what would be for the main course?”, she smiled at Steve, before looking at you for a second but then quickly back at the blond.
“For my beautiful lady what the chef recommends and for me the steak”, said Steve without hesitation, squeezing your hand when he noticed how unsure and insecure you seemed because of the young woman.
She seemed to be speechless for a second, before nodding and writing the meals down. “Of course. Anything else?”, this time her gaze was stubbornly glued to her little notebook, not wanting to look at neither Steve or you.
When she finally left Steve couldn’t hold back the small giggle before winking at you. You still were slightly speechless from what he had said…his beautiful lady. That was…
He was really a sweet guy.
A part of you knew you shouldn’t feel this thrilled and happy, but another part was falling for him faster than you imagined possible.
———————
You stayed at the restaurant for about two hours, enjoying your meal and the many interesting or silly conversations you had. All this time you weren’t interrupted anymore, or if you were then by a different person than the girl from before.
After you two ate your food and even dessert Steve paid for everything-surprising you, which you tried not to show. You hadn’t really expected him to pay for everything even if he was the one who had invited you to the date.
While leaving the restaurant Steve wrapped his arm around your waist, leading you to the car. Once again he opened the doors and helped you into the car, a true gentleman. On your way back home he turned on the same playlist as before, this time a bit quieter.
Even when you arrived at your home he helped you out of the car, walking you to the door and waiting till you opened the door. He didn’t pressure you into walking in after you when you opened the door, he just stood there and smiled at you, his hand burried in his pockets.
“I…I had a really great time tonight”, he said, now much more nervous than during the whole evening. That was the part where you’d tell him it couldn’t happen again. This was there part where you broke his heart, this time for real, without any hopes for the future.
And yet something different left your lips. “Do you want to come in?”
It seemed to have caught you both off guard, but Steve nodded slowly, once again starting to smile at you. “Yeah, I’d love to”, he said and stepped into your house when you walked in. He closed the door behind himself and turned around to you.
Once again to your both surprise you grabbed his button down and pulled him closer to you, your chest touching, his arms immediately wrapping around your middle as you crashed your lips into his, kissing him passionately.
He gasped in surprise, but kissed back, even though slightly more sloppy, not having been prepared for it at all. You leaned back for a second, searching for any sign of discomfort or reason to stop, but before you could change your mind Steve leaned down again, kissing you even more enthusiastically.
You couldn’t stop the quiet gasp that escaped your lips when your back hit the wall with a light thud, Steve’s hands sliding to your behind before lifting you onto his hips. Automatically you wrapped your legs around his middle.
The last time someone had lifted you like this was a long time ago-and never did it happen so effortlessly, which kinda gave you a little confidence boost and also woke some primal part of your brain up that wanted to feel his strength in every position possible.
God. You were so lusting over him.
“Holy shit, Stevie-“, you gasped when he started kissing your neck, walking with you to the living room, his shoulder bumping into the door frame. “Wait-bedroom, go to the-the bedroom”, you gasped out, pressing his face further into your neck.
He looked up at you, pulling his eyebrows together. “Really?”, he asked quietly, confusing you slightly. “Yeah, really. It’ll be more comfortable.”
In the bedroom Steve carefully put you down on the bed, leaning over you and once again kissing passionately. This time it was a bit softer than before. When he let go of you once again he smiled down at you, standing up again and taking off his suit jacket, throwing it on your armchair.
He then looked back at you, his hands trembling as he started unbuttoning his shirt. “Everything okay, Stevie?”, you asked, sitting up and pulling him a bit closer, still looking up at him.
“More than okay-I’m-I’m really happy about this evening, I’m just…nervous. I’ve never been with an experienced woman like you and- ""But it’s not your first time ever, is it?” You couldn’t stop yourself from asking.
He slowly shook his head, his hands stopping unbuttoning the shirt as he got to the middle. “No, not my first time but…I only had sex two times”, he said, burying his hands in his pants pockets.
You slide to the edge of your bed, your hands brushing over his thighs up to his stomach and you slowly open the rest of his shirt. “Do you want to continue?” Before you even finished the question he was already nodding furiously, watching as your hands slid down, over his bulge. A quiet moan escaped his lips and you couldn’t stop the grin creeping on your lips.
“Have you ever had someone suck you off?”
His face took on a dark shade of red as he slowly shook his head. “No”, he mumbled, watching as your hands slowly opened his belt and zipper, pushing his pants down.
“Would you like me to do it?”, just like before he nodded furiously, making you laugh quietly. Your giggles quietened as soon as you pushed down his boxershorts, his cock springing free, not even fully straightening from the weight. Fuck. He was huge. Definitely not how you had imagined him-not that you have done it often but…still.
It was a surprise.
A good one.
You wrapped your fingers around his cock, your palm not even fully closing around him as you slowly pumped him, the pre cum immediately leaking from his tip into your palm, making the movements a bit smoother.
His hand brushed through your hair when you leaned down and licked over his slit, making him moan quietly. The feeling of your wet and warm tongue indescribable. You licked along his shaft to his balls, pushing his cock against his stomach to have better access to his tense balls.
You hadn’t done much and he was already ready to burst. How cute. “Stevie you gotta hold it back for a bit longer so I can really make you feel good”, you grinned seductively, before sucking one of his balls into your mouth, your tongue playing with him before once again letting go with a loud plop.
He gasps quietly, nodding. “Y-yeah. I’ll try to”, he moaned again when you slowly started suckling at his head taking him deeper and deeper with every movement of your head, your hand rhythmically moving with your head making sure no part of his Beautiful cock was left out. Your other hand played with his balls, palming him gently.
After tonight your jaw would be sore for days, sof be your throat but it was definitely worth it. You couldn’t wait to feel his load fill your mouth-but not yet. First you wanted to make sure he’d for ever remember every second of his first blow job. Maybe you also wanted to make sure it’d be his best, too. No other woman was supposed to make him feel good. Definitely not better than you. Maybe…you should be thinking that way, but you couldn’t stop it. You wanted for him to always remember you when another woman would suck his cock poorly.
“Oh my-fuck, can you please suck my balls again?”, he panted, stroking your hair again. When your eyes met he couldn’t stop himself from moaning quietly again, his grip on your hair tightening. He imagined this view a few times if he had to be honest with himself-but never had he imagined it would look this good.
You slurped at his cock head for a second more before licking to his balls, suckling and pulling at them. His cock rested against your face, the pre cum leaving a glistening and wet trail behind, messing up your make-up, some even dripping onto your dress.
“God you’re so beautiful-and so fucking hot”, his hand started trembling, his panting getting faster. You could already tell he was coming closer to his orgasm.
It definitely made your chest feel tinglish, for some reason you were a bit proud of what was happening. You were the person giving Steve his first blow job.
“I think-I’m close-yeah, I’m close-take off your dress-I wanna come on your tits”, he moaned, stepping one step back, his own hand wrapping around his cock as he slowly started to stroke himself, his gaze glued to you.
Fuck. This was hot.
Grinning, you opened the zipper of your dress, pushing it down till you could throw it into the floor. Steve’s gaze slid over your body, stopping at your breasts when you took off your bra.
His lips twitched upwards as he watched you play with your breasts, pulling and pinching your nipples. “You’re incredible”, he moaned, stepping a bit closer to you again-his cock leaking pre cum onto your tits and then stomach when you leaned back on your elbows.
He closed his eyes for a second, trying to calm his breath before looking once again at you. His pupils were blown wide, his mouth slightly agape, his grip around his cock quick and tight. “Open your mouth for daddy’s load”, slipped past his lips, making him immediately blush. Just when he wanted to open his mouth again you chuckled quietly.
“Sure, daddy, I want your cock. Give me your cock, daddy”, you whispered back, keeping an amused grin to yourself. At least you tried to, but seeing Steve blush deepen you knew you didn’t succeed.
A silent moan escaped him as he was thrown to his peak, your words still freshly in his mind. He liked the sound of the word ‘daddy’ on your lips. “Oh fuck”, his cum hit your stomach and chest first, before he aimed higher for your face, especially your open mouth. The view of your cum stained face and body could make him bust again. This was definitely a view to remember.
As soon as he stopped orgasming he leaned down to you, cupping your face with his hands and pulling you into a breathtaking kiss, licking the cum from your lips and following the taste of himself in your mouth, “you’re fucking incredible”, he gasped into your mouth, slowly leaning over your body and pressing you further into the bed.
You grinned against his lips, pushing down his button down from his shoulders, revealing his beautifully sculpted body. “Oh god” “just Steve is enough”, he giggled at his pun, making you laugh quietly too. Your hands slid along his chest. “Wow, I remember-“ you bit your bottom lip at your next words. “I remember when you were still so skinny and rather…lanky”, you mumbled. How quickly time had passed…
Now that you were once again reminded of the age difference you weren’t sure if you really should be sleeping with Steve. You tried to tell yourself it would be just a one time thing. Something that wouldn’t matter to both of you, but….you could tell it was a lie. You weren’t sure what exactly feelings you had for Steve, but it was definitely more than just something platonic or lust.
During the whole evening you had a lot of fun with him-and you knew you’d have more, but not only sexually. Just talking and laughing was enough when it was with Steve.
“Are you okay?” Steve's quiet whisper brought you back as he gently brushed his palm over your arm. You hadn’t even noticed when he had laid down next to you instead of being above you. A small smile twitched over your lips as you nodded slowly. “Yes, it’s just ....I'm not sure what happens next-” Steve opened his mouth, slightly confused looking, but you quickly shook your head, “-not the sec part, silly. What would happen after? we can’t be together-I’m too old for you. People would watch our every step, everything we’d do together in public-they’d judge-and I don’t think you’d like to be with me forever. The difference is already noticeable, I have already some gray hairs and you-you’re so young and good looking.”
Sighing you closer your eyes when Steve brushed over your hair and pulled you closer. “I really don’t care about that…I like you. It doesn’t has to be…labelled…let’s just be with each other, we don’t have to be together…”, he mumbled, slowly kissing your cheeks down to his neck.
“Don’t think about it…let’s just enjoy it”, he smiled against your skin, leaving soft kisses behind. You couldn’t stop the smile that crept onto your lips as he pulled you even closer, your bodies pressed together, sharing the warmth of your skin. “This night is ours and what happens next…doesn’t matter”, he kissed you on the lips, passionately and rather…loving.
You slowly pushed him onto his back, throwing your leg over his hips. The feeling of his already hard cock poking against your leg made you grin a bit. You forgot how it was to be with a guy Steve’s age.
“You feel so good…Daddy”, you grinned against his ear, feeling a bashful smile on his lips as he kissed your neck again. “Stop it…”, he giggled looking at you again, his cheeks being already deep red. You smiled smugly, kissing his cheeks. “But it’s true, daddy”, you mocked him quietly, letting his dick side between your folds as you started grinding against him.
“Such a big cock for me, daddy”, you moaned into his ear, once again, mocking him. It was cute. Steve having a daddy kink…seeing how big the age gap was.
You wrapped your fingers around him, positioning him at your wet cunt. “Come on, make me feel it, daddy”, whenever you addressed him mockingly his blush deepened, a bashful smile crept onto his lips which was quickly replaced by a frown in pleasure as you slowly sank onto his cock.
When you were finally seated, his cock stretched your cunt perfectly, hitting and rubbing against every sensitive spot. “Oh fuck-so good”, you moaned bouncing lightly, trying to adjust to his size. You really couldn’t remember the last time you had been with a guy like Steve.
A few seconds later you started moving more, lifting yourself nearly fully up before slowly coming down again, gasping as his cock head rubs along your walls.
Steve himself couldn’t stop his moans anymore, grabbing your hips and fucking into you quicker, harder. “Oh fuck-yes-just like that”, you moaned in surprise, supporting yourself with your hands against his chest, your nails digging into his sculpted pecks, leaving behind red marks.
A small grin crept onto his lips as he noticed your surprised reaction. Steve wrapped his arms around your body, pulling you down onto his chest and slamming his cock deep in your quivering cunt, hitting your g-spot every time.
“Steve-I’m close-“, you moaned into his neck, your hands grabbing everything in reach-mostly his chest or the sheets. You felt your whole world collapse when the sudden g-spot orgasm rushed over you, your whole body shaking in Steve’s arms, your cunt squeezing him and pulling him in. Your juices gushed around his cock, making a mess.
You felt overwhelmed with every coming thrusts, still brushing your overstimulated g-spot. Steve’s grunts and moans close to your ear letting you know he was also getting closer to his orgasm.
It took Steve a few thrusts before his own body twitched, his load painting your pulsing and sensitive walls, all the cum leaking around his dick making an even bigger mess than before. Your and Steve thighs were covered in a mix of your releases, your sheets were dirty with cum.
And you felt better than ever.
A quiet laugh escaped your lips as you buried your face into Steve’s neck, inhaling his cologne. The smell being the same as years ago when Steve had hugged you to wish you a happy birthday-you remembered liking his smell. You still did.
Steve’s hands brushed along your back, scratching you gently before he slowly turned with you onto the side, his softening cock slipping from your messy cunt, making both of you gasp in pleasure and sensitivity.
“Let me get you a bit cleaned up”, Steve whispered against your forehead. You could feel the smile on his lips, the happiness in his voice.
And you couldn’t stop yourself from smiling.
A blush crept to your cheeks when Steve pushed you onto your back and admired his messy work. The cum was still leaking from your cunt every time your walls throbbed, pushing out the mix of releases, “that’s so hot”, he mumbled, before leaning down and licking along your slit, getting a surprised moan from you.
“Wait-what-“ “I told you I’d clean you up-“, Steve grinned from between your legs before once again continuing, licking along your slit, dipping his tongue in your sensitive cunt. Quiet and needy whines escaped your lips as you grabbed onto his hair. “I thought you meant-something different”, you were interrupted by your own moan when his nose brushed your clit.
You hadn’t been eaten out in a long time, especially not with someone who actually wanted to do it-and Steve seemed very eager about laping and slurping at your cunt, his tongue pushing into you as deep as possible, following your taste. There was definitely lack of experience, but his eagerness made up for it. You were curious how many times he had done it before-but it was no time to ask.
Even though you felt unbelievably good, you also felt too overstimulated and another orgasm felt like it’d be too much for you, so you gently pushed his head away.
The sight made your cunt throb again. His cheeks were covered by a small blush, probably from the lack of oxygen since he really didn’t want to let go for a second from your cunt, his beard glistening, his pupils blown wide. Just when he wanted to dive in again you held him back by the hair. “I’m too sensitive”, you said apologizing, making you both chuckle quietly.
Steve nodded and sat up again, his cock already being half hard again but he ignored it. “I’ll clean up a bit, bring us some water and then we can…sleep? If you’d…if you’d like for me to stay. I get it if you’re not interested in more and if so, then I’ll leave-“ “stay…Steve, please stay tonight”, you interrupted him, taking his hand gently in yours.
He looked down at your hands for a second before coming back to your face. His lips twitched to a smile and he nodded. After giving you a quick peck on the lips Steve went to the bathroom, cleaning himself a bit before grabbing a water bottle from your fridge.
When he walked back into the room you had changed the sheets and were laying beneath the comforter, already being close to falling asleep. A bashful smile crept onto his lips as he slowly sat down at the edge of the bed, not being sure what to do.
You smiled up at him, pulling the comforter back and patting the space next to you. “I like cuddles after sex”, you whispered, the two of you blushing like teenagers after their first time. In a way you felt exactly like that.
Steve pulled you into an embrace, kissing your head gently before closing his eyes.
You both had no idea how happy you both were right now. After years of pining and fantasies Steve finally had his dream woman in his arms and you felt happy having a man who actually cared about you. The last time you felt this happy was in the beginning of your marriage…which would now be over twenty years ago, “good night”, whispered Steve into your hair, interrupting your thoughts.
“Good night, Stevie…or should i say daddy?”, you whispered, a smirk creeping on your lips. Without looking up you knew Steve was blushing. “I…got carried away for a moment”, he chuckled slightly embarrassed but still smiling into your hair.
It didn’t take you two long to fall asleep after the amazing, yet exhausting date. You haven’t been with such an enthusiastic man in a long time and it did take a turn on you.
Your sleep was interrupted in the morning by the slam of the front door. “Hi, mom! Are you home?”, you heard Stacys steps coming closer to your room.

—
Alexia,
The moment that has always replayed in my head for years is the night of your 18th birthday.

You’re going to be done by that time, so you better show up
Yours,
y/n
—

Yours forever and ever and ever,
Alexia

a/n: thank you for reading. this is my longest fic yet, please let me know your thoughts!<3
christmas time
navigation // request // masterlist
summary: christmas is around the corner and lesso isn’t the type to celebrate or so she thought
warnings: none i think [not fully proof read; i’m gonna do it today probably]
notes: i literally adore this fic. i was supposed to publish it at christmas but my family just wouldn’t leave me alone so i didn’t have the time to finish it. took me all my free time from my winter break. anyway, i hope you enjoy it as much as i did. [it has 14k words so good luck]
i ran through the corridor being already late, again. this time it was lesso’s class that i was running late for and i knew i was gonna get in some trouble for this happening again… third time this week, actually. christmas break was almost there and i had a lot going on in my mind but this didn’t work as an excuse with lesso. almost none of them worked, to be honest. she said at the start of our first year that we should not be worried about christmas till the break comes and not even day before. easier said than done when, despite the fact of being a never, i needed to take care of so many things connected with celebrating. two years ago i discovered that lesso wasn’t the person who celebrates christmas with joy. i could call her a grinch but i would probably get into more trouble than i already am in. i have been holding down to my books while still not slowing down when i finally saw the door at the end of the hall. why did her class need to be at the opposite side of the school from my room? gasping for air i ran even faster and finally reached the doorknob. gently pressing down on it i opened the door to the class. suddenly my eyes saw the expressions of all the students surprised that someone would be interrupting while the lesson was on. lady lesso’s eyes immediately flew to my face and at that moment i knew i was screwed. she smiled at me with one of her typical smirks and slowly get up from her chair. i wanted to swiftly move and get to my desk but i knew she would hold me back anyway so i just stayed in my place waiting for her to come up to me. she walked up and stood right before me, only a few centimetres separated us. she looked down at me, despite the fact she was taller than me and was wearing heels. she gently shook her head to the sides.
“you’re late.” she said and her eyes decreased.
“i know.” i responded looking her straight into the eyes. feeling brave i see. “and i’m sorry for that.”
“i bet you are.” she bit out a small laugh. “it’s the third time. this week.” her voice became more intense at the end of the sentence. i bit my lip. “don’t you have any explanation?” she asked with something teasing in her voice. that was new.
“nothing you will be proud of.” i whispered but she caught it anyway. “i was getting ready for christmas and totally lost track of time.” i said, this time for everyone to hear me. lesso rolled her eyes at me.
“i’m not proud in fact.” she responded and her eyes become as cold as they were before i got into the class. she came a step closer to me. “i’m kind of disappointed.” she added and shook her head once again. students started to whisper but i tried to ignore them, as usual. they always whisper something about someone. after almost three eyes in this school and after being a never for as long it’s something you get used to eventually. or just don’t give a damn about it. either way. “i think the doom room would do excellent for you.” she said with a cheshire cat’s smile and turned around wanting to go back to her seat. something in me exploded and i just couldn’t understand why she was being so emotionless.
“it’s almost christmas. can’t you be a little bit more understanding and just chill out a bit?” i asked and all the students’ eyes widened. lesso has turned her head back immediately making strong eye contact with me. she then came back to me and now was standing even closer than before. i could smell her perfume and it definitely wasn’t helping me right now.
“what did you just say?” she asked putting my bravery or stupidity, for a try. i swallowed the saliva that has gathered in my mouth and while not taking my eyes away from her i made myself stood up to her once again.
“it’s almost christmas. why can’t you be understanding for once?” i asked and her eyes also widened at my response.
“you’re wasting my time.” she said with actual thunders in her eyes but also a scoff. “stay in after the class ends. i need to have a little chat with you.” she added and as quick as she was standing before me she was sitting in her chair once again. i rolled my eyes and walked to my seat finally being able to get some rest from all the previous running.
the lesson was more boring that usual. there wasn’t any christmas atmosphere (of course) and it made everything even worse. i just couldn’t sit in place so i started fidgeting with anything my fingers could find. even though i was listening to lesso my mind was in a totally different place. the yule ball, to be precise. it’s a magical event, school dance organised every year. part of passing the subject for evers but for nevers it is just strictly a chance to have some fun. of course asking someone to the dance was a thing for the side of good but many nevers were also choosing someone special to spend this time with. not because they had to, just because they simply wanted to. and it was heartwarming, actually. this year yule ball was going to be my third one. penultimate one. previous two years i was going with my friends but this year i wanted to take my special person to it. but there was only one, tiny problem with that. she hated christmas and would definitely laugh at me if i asked her out. letting out a big sigh no one seemed to notice i looked at the teacher’s face again, trying to come up with something she would have to agree on. lesso on the other hand was almost sitting on the front of her desk while looking at the whole class. i think most nevers were focused on her words not because they were interested in whatever she was saying but because they felt this weird kind of fear towards her. the redhead was looking surprisingly bored herself but that’s something i’ll bring up later on.
finally we heard wolf’s howling and people started to pick up their things and exit the class. almost everyone was gone when hester and anadil stopped in place before the door, exactly where i and lesso were standing previously. both me and the redhead looked at them surprised why they weren’t leaving. both girls looked up and we also understood why they froze in place. over their heads we all saw a small piece of mistletoe attached to the doorframe. both girls quickly looked at each other and blushed slightly. lesso rolled her eyes at them but didn’t say a thing. hester then, softly grabbed anadil’s cheek and pecked her lips. the other girl kissed her back almost immediately but hester suddenly pulled back and ran away. anadil did the same closing the door behind her.
“that’s why they were whispering.” i said and lesso’s eyes flew to me, still sitting in my seat.
“stand up.” she said and i slowly did as i was told. “come closer to me.” she added still being pressed against her desk. i walked slowly to her standing right before her. she caught my eyes once again and i uncontrollably bit my lip. she smiled at me but then remembered the real reason for our meeting.
“why do you hate christmas?” i asked and she seemed surprised by my sudden question. she placed her right hand on my left cheek.
“i don’t hate them. i just don’t feel the need to celebrate them. and the atmosphere died so long ago since i was brought to this school.” she joked at the end but i didn’t laugh. she also calmed herself down almost immediately.
“then why can’t you be a little bit more relaxed?” i asked and she looked away from me. of course, not because she was scared more like she was starting to get bored.
“you have whole break for celebrating. that’s enough.” she said and the grip on my cheek tightened a bit. her eyes looked into mine once again.
“lesso.” i said and her attention was directed fully to me. “you’re not going to punish me?” i asked and she smiled at my words.
“no. not at all.” she responded and stroked my cheek. “consider it an early christmas gift.” she added and snored at her own words. “i also adore that boost of confidence in you.” i rolled my eyes playfully at her. my arms then wrapped around her neck while my legs were on the both sides of hers. she surprisingly didn’t mind.
“i…” i started but my voice died the moment it came out of my mouth. her other hand found my waist and brought me even closer to her. our noses almost touching.
“what is it, my love?” she asked seeing something was definitely on my mind. i took a deep breath and looked away from her.
“i have a question.” i said and looked at her again noticing she was looking at me all the time. her face softened a bit.
“go ahead, darling.” she said being concerned. in that moment she was prepared for hearing something extremely amazing or terribly awful. i wasn’t ready to ask her yet, but i knew i couldn’t get myself out of this situation so it will be just better to try. well, here comes nothing.
“i wanted to ask you out.” i said and she smiled at me, warm feeling filling up her body from the inside. but sadly that wasn’t the end on my sentence. “to the yule ball.” i added whispering. lesso’s smile was immediately gone.
“definitely not.” she responded still looking at my face. i tried holding the tears wanting to form in my eyes.
“but lesso, please-“ i wanted to argue but she interrupted me right away.
“no, and that’s final.” she said not leaving any chance for me to discuss it. “also, you know it would come with making our relationship public and i’m not sure how to feel about that one.” she explained looking away from my face and her eye sight was roaming all around the class behind me.
“thought so.” i responded and wanted to get away from her but her grip didn’t let me. her attention was back at me again and she gripped my cheek harder once again.
“don’t act childish.” she said and i rolled my eyes at her. my hands still placed around her neck gripped her skin a bit tighter. she swallowed quickly a sparkle shinning in her eyes for a moment.
“that’s just something important to me.” i responded and this time she rolled her eyes at me. “but it’s okay. you don’t have to care about that.” i continued remembering after all, she’s the dean of the school for evil, a devil herself. why did i ever bother myself with thinking she would change her mind for me? pathetic, as always.
“don’t be ridiculous.” she said with a stern tone. “besides that i’m telling you, i’m not ready for making our relationship public. and i certainly don’t think christmas is the best time for it.” she added and i shrugged at her.
“no surprise.” i said and she rolled her eyes at me again. relationship with lesso was a tough cookie. she was the best person i could ever ask for while also being my worst nightmare. when lesso put her mind to something there was nothing or no one able to change her view. no matter how much she cared or tried to care about that someone. lesso was just to stubborn to even argue with. she stroked my cheek again bringing me back to earth.
“you can come to my room while the ball will be on. we are going to have plenty of time for ourselves then.” she offered definitively trying to make it up for me somehow. i shook my head at her.
“i’ll probably go with my friends. like the years before.” i responded and she stayed silent. “also i promised dovey to see her there and she even asked me to dance with her like a month ago so i can’t let her down like that.” i said and she rolled her eyes at the mention of her fellow coworker i also had a close relationship with. “don’t get jealous, you know dovey is like a mom to me.” i said seeing her expression and she immediately smiled at my words.
“i know, darling. sometimes i just wish you could be for me only.” she said and slowly came closer to my neck, leaving a kiss there. my hands gently wrapped themselves into her red hair keeping her in place.
“i am yours and yours only.” i said feeling more and more pleased from her kisses. she smiled to my neck nibbling at it a bit harder. i bit my lip not wanting to cause a scene in the middle of lessons. she let go of my skin after a moment leaving a red spot. lesso didn’t fully pull back from my skin till almost my whole neck was covered in red or purple marks. when she was finally satisfied with her work she slowly pulled away making eye contact with me.
“i wish you luck with covering this.” she said and the hand that was previously on my cheek now was swinging around my neck touching the marks she just left.
“maybe i don’t want to cover it up.” i responded and her smiled faded a bit. her hand also disappeared same as the other one. at this point the things keeping us in constant contact were my hands around her neck and in her hair. they slowly slid out of her hair and stopped at her shoulders.
“you should go. you will be late to your lesson again.” she said still looking into my eyes in reality not wanting for me to leave. i smiled at her sadly and one of my hands grabbed her cheek this time. she relaxed into my skin adoring this type of touch.
“i think i’m gonna get rest of the day off.” i said and stroked her cheek while her eyes closed slowly. “i was doing pretty good lately, not counting the times i was late, so a few absences won’t hurt me.” i explained and she cuddle in my hand even more.
“as a teacher i can’t allow that.” she said while she opened her eyes to look at me with the look full of love and adoration. all this from so little attention. maybe lesso was hard to please, or she just seemed like it, but when you knew what she really craved, you could wrap her around your finger in seconds. of course she was still very present of the way you were handling her but she just chose not to do anything about it. “but as your girlfriend, i’d say do what you feel like.” she continued and smiled at the mention of her being my lover. i also smiled at her words.
“i hope kastor won’t kill me for not being present in his class.” i laughed slightly and lesso did the same. my other hand grabbed her other cheek and now i was holding her face in my hands. she raised her head a bit signalling me she wanted to kiss me but not wanting to break the skin contact.
“if he tries, he will have to deal with me. and that won’t be the first time.” she replied laughing even more. i saw little wrinkles forming in the corner of her eyes and i unconsciously smiled at her.
“can you do something for me?” i asked the moment i almost got to kiss her. her eyes filled with love still focused on mine shined once again.
“anything, my darling.” she whispered. i felt her breath on my own lips which sent shivers down my spine.
“will you kiss me under the mistletoe?” i whispered back and she rolled her eyes at me. that pushed me over the edge, actually. i asked her for tiny thing connected with christmas that would bring me a lot of joy and she dared to decline it like that. it was enough even for me.
“can’t i just kiss you here?” she asked feeling impatient. this time i rolled my eyes.
“and can’t you do it under the mistletoe?” i asked once again with more stern tone. she right away sensed my attitude and got out of the grip my hands were holding her face in. she straightened herself up, while pushing me off her a bit. then she adjusted her collar and the pit she had under it. i licked my lips and gently shook my head at her still standing close but not as close to her.
“i’m gonna head out.” i said not wanting to show her i was hurt. she probably knew it by now but i just didn’t care at that moment.
“see you later.” she responded and stand up, going to sit in her chair and starting to grade the papers or something she always does.
“i’m not sure when, but of course.” i replied walking to my desk to grab the books i have previously bring with me. her eyes were following me all the time.
“winter break starts tomorrow so you will have plenty of time.” she said as i was almost at the door. i turned around to face her still sitting in her chair. little part of me hoped she would come up to me while i was leaving and kiss me under this damn mistletoe, but as usual, this part was wrong.
“you’re right, but i am going to spend it with my friends and dovey mostly. cause you know, that’s what this time is really for so i’m not sure when we will meet just the two of us again.” i said and my hand reached the doorknob. “unless we see each other at the ball.” i added and slightly pushed on the silver thing in my hand.
“then we probably won’t see in a long time. we may only meet again in my class.” she said with no emotion filling her sentence.
“i assume that’s correct.” i responded with same emotionless expression. she nodded her head at me. “merry christmas in that case.” i added and turned around to leave the class finally.
“you too.” she replied even colder that before. i shook my head at her but she probably didn’t notice it as my silhouette was now in the hall again. i let out a deep sigh and directed myself to my room. i wanted to leave all the books there and go to somewhere i knew i wouldn’t be judged for the excitement i felt connected with the event that was nearly there. the school on the other side of the bridge, to be precise. and the certain dean.
as i said i stepped by my room and literally threw all the things i have been carrying and just left the space in rush. not wanting to be caught by any of the guards i turned myself into little dragonfly and flew out of one of the windows in the hall. not a minute later i was in the corridor of the school for good. it was empty despite the fact that the lessons was on. i quickly flew to the dean’s office and turned back to myself. deep inside i prayed she wasn’t having one of her lessons now, i still couldn’t remember her schedule. i gently knocked at the door and turned the gold doorknob letting myself in.
coming in i saw the person i was looking for, sitting beside her desk drinking tea while also reading a book i have seen so many times in one of her bookshelves. when she noticed my presence she almost spilled the liquid on her dress. thankfully there was little of it left in the cup so it didn’t dirty her up.
“oh my!” she exclaimed and quickly put down the book she was previously reading.
“it’s nice to see you too, dovey.” i smiled at her, closing the door behind me and coming further in.
“very funny.” she said while looking at me unsurprised. i just shrugged my shoulders at her and she snored at my reaction. the tea cup was now standing on her desk while she took the book into her hands once again and stood up to put it back to it’s place on the bookshelf.
“what are you reading?” i asked sitting down in one of two chairs situated in front of her desk. she turned her head towards me while pushing the book between tons of different ones.
“one of the stories my students gave me many years ago.” she laughed gently and i smiled at her response. “but what are you doing here? don’t you have lessons now?” she asked and walked up to me, sitting in the chair next to me. i loved how dovey usually treated me with respect and not just like a random student that came into her office. i adored the fact she thought about as equal and showed it in any way she could.
“i do.” i said quickly. “but i was good lately so i decided to take the rest of the day off. i just wanted to rest a bit and also talk with you.” i explained and she nodded at me with a gentle smile.
“well then,” she stated and turned even more to me. “what brings you here?” she asked looking a bit concerned. my smile faded away a bit.
“it’s about lesso again.” i said quietly. she shook her head and whispered a quick ‘lesso’ to herself.
“what did she do this time? and what do i need to take care of?” she asked her voice filled with no emotion. i smiled at the way she said it.
“nothing much to be honest.” i said as the yule ball wasn’t a bit deal for me. dovey didn’t believe in a single word. “i just asked her to the ball and she of course said now. i mean, what did i expect? that she would agree? yeah, i was being silly.” dovey listened to me her face showing mixed emotions towards the other dean. “also i talked with her about christmas cause as i was saying the last time we talked, she always seems so drained out and just not interested in anything. so i talked with her about it and she explained to me,” i did the sarcastic gesture at the word explained. “that she just doesn’t feel it anymore, and doesn’t feel the need to celebrate it. and as much as i understand this i can’t understand why she just can’t do something for me which would make me so happy you wouldn’t even understand.” i rambled and didn’t feel when tears started to fill my eyes. dovey immediately took one of my hands in hers and started to slowly massage it. wanting to calm me down.
“oh sweetie,” she stayed and her eyes were full of empathy. but as i looked into them longer i noticed the anger building up in them. “she never celebrated christmas.” she said remembering all the years they have spend together. “but i do agree with you on the fact that she could do something for you and at least try being more involved with all the celebration. at least be that with you.” she said and i nodded at her words. “lesso is a really complicated person. i’m amazed that you endure her.” she laughed and i let out a snort at her words.
“she’s a lot.” i said and dovey smiled at me. “but i can’t help the way i feel about her.” i added and her smile widened even more.
“a heart wants what it wants.” she said and her smile turned into a smirk. i rolled my eyes at her playfully. “who would’ve thought lesso would ever fall in love.” she continued and i blushed slightly at her words. “the person who believed the most that evil couldn’t love.” she shook her head. “and after all that she fell in love with a never. you have to be a real special one.” she added and i smiled at her so widely.
“you’ve always said i am unique.” i said and she laughed once again while stroking my hand.
“indeed i did. and in fact you are.” she replied and let go of my hand. “lesso for sure knows it too.” she added and nodded her head.
“i just wish she would show it more often.” i said sadly while looking down. dovey bit her lip.
“maybe she would if your relationship wasn’t private.” she guessed and i made eye contact with her again. “or maybe that’s just the way she is. you can always talk about it with her, not turning it into argument but just discuss it.” she suggested and i nodded at her once again.
“you’re right. but after today i feel like i need a bit of a break from her.” i said and dovey looked a bit worried. “nothing big though, i still love her, of course, but i just feel like maybe what we need is this christmas break. i planned to spend it with you and my friends so i won’t be seeing with her anyway. i probably will come to her at the end of it but for now maybe that’s what we need.” i said my thoughts out loud and dovey nodded her head with an understanding smile.
“there’s nothing wrong with taking breaks. sometimes they help us realise that we can’t stand too long without the person we love.” she said and winked at me. i shook my head at her but the smile was still present on my face. “i don’t want to be rude, but i have a lesson in like ten minutes? so i need to excuse myself. also you’re welcome to stay here, but after the class i have somethings to take care of connected with the fact that the break starts today. so i won’t be coming back for long, but as i already said you’re more than welcome to wait for me.” she said and started to gather the things she would be needing for her lesson. i quickly stand up and scratched my nose.
“don’t worry, dovey. i, myself have a lot stuff to get done today so i won’t stay here. i hope to see you tomorrow though, at the ball.” i said and she smiled at me with the most heartwarming smile i have seen in my life.
“of course. you promised me a dance after all.” she said and i smiled at her words too. i nodded my head at her and then quickly turned into dragonfly once again. dovey opened her window letting me out. i sit at her shoulder for a second, that was our way of hugging while i was in my animal form, and then i flew out of the window going back straight to my room, already thinking about all the things i needed to do today.
dovey kept up a quick pace of walking while crossing the bridge separating two schools. her dress was floating into all sides but she didn’t care at that moment. she was pissed off but tried to keep her face still. which wasn’t working. dovey hoped she wouldn’t walk into y/n as she crossed the line to the big hall. she immediately turned right knowing the plan of the castle better than her own house’s. she quickly stumbled through the corridor filled with doors to students’ rooms and finally reaches the stairs she was looking for. grabbing her dress in her hands she started the journey up the stairs. cursing the headmaster in her head for making those towels so difficult she was taking now two steps at one time. finally, when her eyes spotted another big hall she sighted with ease. stepping up on the last step, her foot were met with cleaned and almost new floor. now she just needed to find the door to the right room. dovey didn’t expect lesso to be in her office after hours while all the students were on their break now. any other day she wouldn’t bother with coming up to the other dean’s room, but today she was certain she will find her there. passing many door she suddenly noticed the one she was looking for. coming up quickly to them she knocked softly and grabbed the silver doorknob attached to them. after a while she heard a soft but tired “come in.” and immediately pushed down. dovey opened the door and was greeted with a sight of lesso sitting on her bed, massaging her right knee. the redhead looked up and got a bit confused seeing the dean of good.
“got lost?” she joked and clarissa shot the door behind her. lesso’s expression became more surprised at the rage dovey was currently in. not feeling the need to stand up she waited until the blonde walk up to be standing right in front of her.
“i’m not in the mood for jokes, lesso.” she hissed and the other dean suddenly got quiet. “i have a lot of things to get done and coming here to talk with you definitely wasn’t on the list.” she added and lesso smirked at her words.
“you don’t make time in your day for me anymore, clarissa.” she shook her head with fake sadness.
“oh, stop it!” she scoffed her and lesso let out a laugh.
“then why are you here? miss me already?” she asked and clarissa give her one of the looks that could actually kill.
“i am not the one missing you.” she said and rolled her eyes. lesso suddenly swallowed. “but the reason behind my visit is, in fact different.” she stated and lesso focused more on her.
“what did my little misery tell you this time?” she asked the amusement still present in her voice. dovey let out another scoff at her words while her hands flew to her hips.
“nothing you should be worried about.” she replied sharply and it took lesso a bit by a surprise. “but seriously, i need your help lesso.”
“i’m all ears.” she said and her eye’s directed to her knee once again. her hands were massaging it trying to resolve the pain. dovey bit her lip seeing the other dean in pain.
“it has to do with the yule ball.” she said quietly but strongly. lesso rolled her eyes but remained silent. “we need another teacher to come despite the fact juba won’t be here for christmas.” she explained and lesso’s knee started to hurt even more.
“and you can’t ask anybody else?” she asked still being focused on her knee. dovey stayed silent.
“you were the first person to come to my mind.” she responded trying to stay proud. lesso smiled at her words but didn’t take that as a win in this situation.
“i’m flattered.” she responded jokingly looking up at the other dean for the first time in a while. “and you assure me it has nothing to do with my unruly never?” she asked raising one of her brows. dovey swallowed quickly but kept her face still.
“of course not.” she responded and her hands relaxed a bit. “whatever goes on with the two of you is none of my business.” she added, both of the women knowing that sentence was a damn lie. lesso’s been massaging her knee but her eyes remained on the other dean’s face.
“of course.” she responded almost mockingly. dovey rolled her eyes at her with annoyance.
“so, will you be coming?” clarissa asked and lesso straightened up in her seat. she also threw her head back thinking hardly about it. dovey looked at her with boredom waiting for the answer.
“i don’t think i have a choice.” she replied finally and a smile uncontrollably formed on dovey’s face. “besides that, i hope she’s gonna be happy when she sees me there.” she added mostly to herself but dovey couldn’t help, but react to that. lesso’s attention was back at her knee and the horrible pain she was experiencing.
“i adore how you put ‘my’ before every title you give her.” clarissa commented and lesso’s eyes immediately glued to her face. “i think she would love it if you showed her that attention.” she added and lesso quickly rolled her eyes.
“it’s hard to do, when no one knows about us.” she said actually being in a mood for a chat. or at least not being against it.
“you need to assure her she’s special, you know?” dovey said taking a seat next to lesso on her bed. “and we both know how damn special she is to you.” she added and the redhead groaned at the other woman’s words.
“indeed she is.” she said again mostly to herself. “i’m not sure how to show her that, i mean,” she started and cleared her throat when she felt this weird feeling making it harder for her to speak. “i don’t know how to express my emotions towards her. they’re so strong i’m scared i could hurt her. and that’s the last thing i want.” she said and dovey quickly nodded at her words. lesso hasn’t looked at her face from the moment she sat down beside her. “i hope she feels how much she means to me.” she continued and dovey bit her cheek from the inside. she also started fingering with her fingers placed on her dress.
“you could try by being more open for what she wants.” she suggested and lesso eyes finally found her face.
“what exactly do you mean?” she asked knowing partly what clarissa meant by that. she also wanted to know how much you were telling her.
“you know,” she started and gestured her hands into the air. “for example, you’re going to be at the yule ball anyway, why don’t you ask her to it?” she explained and lesso laughed at her words. dovey looked a bit confused.
“so she told you that.” she said and dovey shook her head at the redhead’s reaction finding it ridiculous.
“are you surprised?” she asked and lesso stopped laughing. she then started massaging her knee once again. clarissa was wondering if she did that because it hurt her again or she just wanted to distract herself with something.
“to be fair, i’m not.” she said still focusing on her leg. “i overreacted today i could just kiss her under this goddamn mistletoe.” she said the side of her overthinking showing. dovey gently grabbed her shoulder and stroked it.
“i don’t know about the situation with mistletoe, but even if for you something isn’t a big deal, for y/n it can mean a lot.” she said and lesso groaned again. now her hands were covering up her face.
“i know that.” she said and gently pulled away her hands. her eyes were glued to the floor, not enough strength in her to look dovey in the eyes in such a moment. moment of loosing her walls down a bit and letting someone know how she feels. moment of showing her emotions and her worries to someone who could actually help her with that. a moment of weakness, at least according to her.
dovey stayed silent gently stroking lesso’s shoulder for the whole time. the redhead looked up for a second only to be met with another pair of eyes looking at her. clarissa was looking at her with the most understanding sight she has ever seen. and in that moment she didn’t even felt guilty or ashamed for letting her know how she felt. she felt comfortable, understood even and that was something fully new to her. lesso wiped her eyes with fingers, looking away once again.
“to be honest.” she started suddenly and it got all dovey’s attention. “this year when i think about christmas i even feel a bit excited.” she said and clarissa’s eyes widened at her words. lesso laughed quietly. “those last two years were like every other ones but this year, this one in particular is different. it’s special.” she said and dovey guessed what she was gonna say next, and she unconsciously smiled at the words that haven’t even left lesso’s mouth yet. “this year’s christmas feel a little like the ones when i was a kid. all excited and full of joy. i subconsciously wanted to decorate my room same as my office for christmas.” she continued letting out another silent laugh and the dean of good still stroked her shoulder. lesso’s eyes concentrated on the bookshelf attached to the wall in front of her. “it’s because of her.” she stayed and dovey’s smile widened even more. “she makes me feel all joyful and warm.” she continued coming to terms with it herself. “i literally want to do so many things knowing they would make her happy. i definitely don’t show it but she indeed changed my mindset for this year’s christmas.” she said and the tiny smile formed on her face.
“i think you should tell her all of that.” dovey said and lesso’s eyes met hers once again.
“not likely.” she replied and scoffed at the end. “i physically can’t be so affectionate with her.” she said and dovey’s hand found lesso cheek. the redhead instantly looked into the other dean’s eyes.
“you should try doing in on your own way.” dovey said and lesso wanted to interrupt her but she didn’t let her. “or you can start by doing the things you know y/n would love you to do.” she continued and this time lesso hasn’t had anything to add. she looked away once again getting lost in her thoughts. clarissa stroked her cheek slightly taking her hand away a moment later.
“i’m grateful you need someone to help at the ball.” lesso said out of the blue and dovey laughed softly at her words.
“if that’s your way of saying you’re thankful for me coming here and having this conversation with you, then you’re very welcome.” she said being able to read lesso’s intentions every time. lesso hasn’t looked at her or smiled. “i should be going.” clarissa exclaimed and stood up from the bed. the redhead finally look at her only seeing her silhouette walk up to the door.
“sometimes i forget she doesn’t know me for as long as you do.” lesso said which caught dovey’s attention. she smiled warmly at her while also touching the doorknob.
“she’ll learn everything. just as i did.” she said and pushed on the silver metal opening the door. lesso looked at her knee again and groaned in pain. “i think she could help you with the pain though.” clarissa implied leaving the room. “you’ve always forgot about the pain when pleasure was overcoming it.” she added and quickly disappeared behind the door, closing it shut. lesso laughed at the other woman, loving to see her not so mature and immaculate side. a moment later she put some spell on her leg not helping with relieving the pain but at least making her not feel it. the dean then got up and stormed out of her room going straight to the towel’s loft. she needed to find her old christmas decorations to make her room look at least a bit more joyful.
clarissa wasn’t expecting this conversation to take the turn it did but she was definitely not complaining. she was actually glad that lesso shared her feeling with her which made her even more sure of the fact that lesso and her little unruly never were truly meant to be. however the teachers, in fact, didn’t need another person to help with the ball. but dovey figured out that’s something lesso doesn’t need to know of now.
the night was almost there and thankfully i’ve done everything i was supposed to do that day. feeling terribly tired i laid down on my bed not wanting to ever get up. i could literally feel the tiredness filling up my body. i groaned and girls from my room laughed at me.
“you’re exhausted.” hester commented looking at me.
“infeed iem” i responded my head deep in pillows. girls laughed once again.
“you need to rest then, tomorrow’s the big night.” dot exclaimed and i rolled my eyes.
“i’m going with agatha so i won’t be bothering you.” said sophie looking herself in the mirror. three of the girls shared a look at her words.
“we’re actually going together.” anadil said and looked at hester. the girl licked her lips.
“so i guess we will be going together too.” dot suggested and i groaned once again. i turned around on my bed so now i was facing the ceiling. slowly sat up and finally could see all the girls i was having conversation with.
“i’m not sure if i will be coming.” i said and dot frowned at my words.
“in that case i will have to stick with sophie and agatha.” she said and sophie just shrugged. dot looked at me with puppy eyes. “please don’t leave me.” she whispered and i uncontrollably laughed at her.
“i can’t promise you anything, dot.” i said and hester laughed alongside with anadil. “also your kiss under the mistletoe was pretty sweet.” i said turning to two of the girls. anadil blushed at my words and hester just rolled her eyes but with a smile.
“i literally thought you and lesso were going to kiss today.” anadil commented and i bit my lip in embarrassment. the girls didn’t know about my relationship with fellow teacher but let’s just say they had their own suspicions.
“what a plot twist would that be.” i said and all five of us laughed at my words. that was something i genuinely adored about those girls. they never asked questions despite the fact how curious they were. i mean sophie and dot did ask questions, a lot of them but they never pressured me to answer. they were evil to the core but they still knew how to be a good friends.
“nah but for real.” dot said once again. “would you really miss a yule ball?” she asked and i started wondering myself. am i gonna miss out on something so huge just because i got into a little fight with my girlfriend? the answer is clear: probably.
“i’m not sure how i’ll be feeling tomorrow.” i lied and the girl just nodded at me. “but i promise i’ll try my hardest to not let you down.” i added and she smiled at my words while eating a chocolate cookie. “and dovey. i promised her a dance after all.” i remembered and the brunette laughed at me almost chocking on her food.
“the dean of good cares so much about some never.” hester said laying down on her bed. “pretty crazy, huh?” she continued and i smiled at her.
“i don’t know what she sees in me.” i laughed and she rolled her eyes playfully. dot and anadil also laughed while sophie just shook her head with playfulness.
all of the girls were getting ready to go to sleep. after like thirty minutes all five of us were laying comfy in our beds getting mentally ready for tomorrow’s night. what an event that will be. i closed my eyes and drifted to sleep almost immediately. despite my tiredness i was just exhausted from all the stress i’ve had from talking to lesso. i hoped tomorrow would be a bit easier.
lady lesso woke up earlier than usual. her knee was acting up again and her spells weren’t working anymore. with a groan she sat up on her bed and looked around her room. christmas decorations were put out everywhere and it weirdly made her feel kind of better. she smiled at them thinking about how surprised and excited i would be if i saw them with her right in the middle. she started massaging her knee trying to do anything to resolve the pain. but it wasn’t working. she turned her head and looked out of the window and was greeted with winter sun. she unconsciously smiled and her thought’s subconsciously turned to the yule ball she was going to attend today. she started wondering about the outfit she was going to wear tonight and in how much trouble she would get if she put on something a bit too revealing. she laughed at herself and slowly got up, grabbing her cane and walking up to the wardrobe placed in her room. she started looking through all of her clothes hoping she would find something appropriate without having to ask dovey for giving her one of the outfits from the good school. not that it have previously happened. no, of course not. after a while, the redhead finally found something that satisfied her enough to wear tonight. due the fact she woke up so early she got all day to prepare herself for the nightmare that was waiting on her. she rolled her eyes at the thought of the ball being even worse than she’s imagining and came back to bed wanting to at least rest more if she wasn’t getting any more sleep. lesso’s thoughts came back to me once again and she smiled while laying down under the warm blanket. she was preparing herself for the night and all the things i could say to her that she hadn’t even noticed when she fall asleep once again. the pain coming from her knee somehow didn’t stop her from drifting to sleep.
the night has finally arrived. everyone was more exited than usual which was understandable. even the teachers felt a christmas spirit. this year, yule ball was organised in the school for evil despite the fact it was in the good side last year. all evers needed to cross over the bridge but speaking from their point of view it made the ball even more fun and magical. more people started to come into the big hall situated at the second floor of the castle. almost all teachers were already present beside lady lesso and one of the good teachers. dovey stood awkwardly at the table with food waiting for the other dean to show up. or at least for the never she promised a dance. she was alone and it was definitely driving her crazy. of course, she knew all the other teachers that were at the ball but they just weren’t as close with her and she didn’t feel comfortable enough to just walk up to them and start the small talk she hated with passion. clarissa rolled her eyes and put another olive in her mouth. one thing that caught her attention when she was waiting on anybody to come and literally save her, was the way people were coming in. the stairs were build in a way that it looked like they were coming out of the floor. and it literally amazed her. she smiled to herself seeing more evers and nevers enter the hall and her nerves calmed a bit. but suddenly she felt a cold hand on her exposed shoulder and she almost jumped out of her skin. she turned around immediately and her eyes met the person who just nearly gave her a heart attack.
“i see i still got the effect on you, don’t i?” lesso asked taking her hand away when the other dean turned to her completely. dovey scoffed at her still calming down her breathing.
“i almost died on the spot.” she exclaimed and put one of her hands on her chest. lesso laughed at her words.
“it wasn’t my intention. this time.” she said with a wink. clarissa playfully hit her arm.
“i’m glad you showed up.” she said and smiled warmly at the other dean. leonora looked away from her face but also smiled.
“you need my help after all.” she said with a proud tone. dovey wanted to roll her eyes but she decided not to.
“of course.” she responded and both women laughed gently. lesso took a look around the hall noticing little details connected with christmas and the ball. she smiled to herself and her eyes came back to the other dean’s face again.
“has she show up yet?” she asked and dovey shook her head.
“not yet.” clarissa exclaimed and looked away from lesso’s eyes. “the ball just started, give her a bit more time.” she suggested with a nod. lesso’s sight just focused on the hall once more.
“of course.” she whispered to herself. “you look ravishing.” she said looking dovey up and down for a moment, noticing the light green dress was a bit different from the ones she was wearing every day. her shoulders and collarbones were exposed and the top was cut low also exposing a lot of her cleavage. the dress was wide at the bottom but it was decreasing more further up. she had little sleeves attached to the top of the material on her chest. dovey looked literally angelic in the moment. the blonde smiled at her words and a little blush crawled up on her face.
“thank you kindly.” she replied and took a look at lesso’s outfit. “you look marvellous yourself.” she added admiring the overalls lesso was wearing. whole material was wine red with black lace under it. due to the sleeveless outfit the lace was covering all her arms and a bit of her cleavage. lesso looked like a king taken out from his fairy tail. and it suited her so well.
“indeed i do.” she smirked and dovey rolled her eyes. both women looked at the students filling up the room, waiting to see their special never. but she was nowhere to be seen by far.
minutes went by and she still hasn’t arrived. lesso was now pushing her cane into the floor harder with every passing second. dovey finally took a notice of that and put her hands on top of the other dean.
“stop that.” she said and squeezed their hands together. lesso looked into her eyes and raised a brow.
“we barely use this floor, no one will notice.” she said and dig her cane even harder. dovey scoffed and took her hands away. lesso laughed softly at the annoyed dean of good. both women noticed hester coming in while holding anadil’s hand and other three girls, two nevers and one ever coming in right after them. clarissa started to wonder for a second if no one invited agatha or she was just meeting then at the ball. her mind quickly went back to the redhead stood next to her and her girlfriend that still definitely wasn’t present.
“why hasn’t she arrived yet?” dovey exclaimed and lesso attention was still directed to her face. clarissa took another chocolate candy and put it in her mouth. lesso laughed once again remembering her habit of eating a lot more than usual when she was nervous.
“i have no idea.” she replied and finally stopped touring the floor. “maybe i should check up on her.” she suggested getting a bit lost in her thoughts. dovey turned to her again and smiled.
“i think that’s a great idea. you can ask her out by the way.” she said and another chocolate chip found it’s place in her mouth. lesso tried to keep her face still.
“i will be back as soon as possible.” she said and grabbed her cane in the other way, so she could be using it while walking. “and i’m not sure how the part about asking her out is gonna go.” she added and dismissed herself from the table they were standing by all this time. clarissa shook her head to the sides and immediately turned to the table looking for another chocolate delight.
lady lesso stormed out of the ball hall and immediately took turn into the direction of my room. going down the stairs she found herself at the right floor and went to the door she knew so well by now. searching for the ones in particular she missed four others and finally found the ones she was looking for. lesso gently knocked at the door and didn’t hear any reply. starting to get a bit worried she pushed down on the silver doorknob and invited herself in. she closed the door behind her in no time. the redhead finally took a look at the room she was now in and her eyes almost immediately found me laying on my bed in total comfy mood. she frowned her brows together looking at me with a confused expression. i finally took a notice of her and almost fell off the bed.
“you scared the living shit out of me.” i said looking at her like she was insane. she tried to hide the smile on her lips but was totally unsuccessful.
“i didn’t mean to, my love.” she said and stayed still in her place. “why aren’t you getting ready? or why aren’t you ready by now?” she asked and my confusion got confused.
“what do you mean?” i asked and she looked at me like i was the dumb one here.
“the ball. the yule ball.” she said slowly not understanding what i was on. i cracked a brow at her.
“what about it?” i asked getting up from my bed and slowly approaching her.
“why aren’t you ready to attend it?” she asked following me with her eyes all the time. i walked up to her and was now standing in front of her.
“i decided not to go.” i said the sadness filling my tone despite my trying to hide it. she clicked her tongue at my response and i was vividly confused once again.
“lies.” she commented and one of her hands found my left cheek. she grabbed my face making me look up a bit. “get ready, i don’t have all night.” she added and i blinked quickly at her.
“what?” i asked and she let go of my face as fast as she touched it. lesso fixed her posture and leaned on her cane, guiding all her weight on it. her other hand situated on her hip.
“get ready.” she said with a stern tone. “you have a ball to attend to.” she added and a little smile appeared on her lips. i couldn’t help the one that was forming on mines.
“how did you know i was in my room?” i asked and turned around, quickly walking to my wardrobe searching for the outfit i picked like a week ago. her eyes roamed all around my room avoiding only me.
“i saw your friends and you were nowhere to be found, so i assumed that you must be still in your room.” she explained and i literally stopped in place with the dress in my hands.
“you saw my friends? at the ball?” i asked confused and quickly looked at her. she just nodded her head still not bothering to look at me. she seemed to be actually interested in the way our room looked. “you were at the ball?”
“indeed.” she replied and finally took a glance at me. “dovey asked me yesterday for backup so i couldn’t disagree. it was too late to involve someone else.” she explained and i bit my bottom lip, stopping the huge smile that wanted to form on my face.
“that explains everything.” i said to myself but lesso hummed at my observation. i grabbeb all the things i would be needing to get ready and stood before her. she looked at me with her typical grin. at this moment it made me smile even more.
“you can change here. it’ll be quicker.” she said and i slightly blushed at the idea of changing in front of her. of course, she has seen me naked by now but literally changing was somehow more intimate to me. i looked away from her still staying in my place. lesso noticed my uncertainty and a soft expression appeared on her face. “if you feel comfortable enough with that.” she added and her hand went through my hair. stroking it gently. “but i can move if you prefer to go to the bathroom.” lesso continued and took away her hand, my head subconsciously moving after it. she hummed happily at me reaction to her touch but waited at my answer.
“i will need someone to zip me up anyway.” i said and walked away to my bed. she smiled smugly at my words. i put all the things on my duvet and grabbed the bottom of the shirt i was currently wearing. i glanced at lesso and noticed she was now standing with her back facing me, wanting to give me privacy. i smiled warmly at the act and in no seconds i was in my desired outfit . it was a black, half-sleeved dress, with red lace on the front and cleavage that was exposed a bit more than usual. the lace was ending half the way down so it looked like it was just disappearing in the sea of folds from the material. at the bottom little red and silver diamonds were attached making it seem like i stepped in the puddle of glitter a moment ago. i adored the way this dress looked in the room the day dovey first showed it to me and i hoped it would look at least half that good on me. to be fair i hoped it would look better on me than it did handling on the hanger. i glanced at lesso again and she was still facing the door, being very interested in the way they were made. i found her amazingly heartwarming and decided to make myself fully ready before she would zip me up. i took my toiletry bag and walk up to sophie’s huge mirror attached to the wall. after a few swing moves my face was ready to go. i grabbed my hairbrush and did everything in my way to make my hair look as perfect as it was possible. finally, after that i was ready to be zipped up.
i walked up to lesso, placing my hands slowly at her hips. she didn’t jerk away but i sensed a little tense in her body when she felt my touch. she slowly turned away and was met with my almost ready look. her eyes roamed me up and down and she couldn’t help the smirk approaching her lips. she licked them and bit down for a moment on her bottom lip. my hands on her hips kept us in a very close position but she still managed to get a look at my outfit. i raised my head making eye contact with her. her eyes were full of love and incoming lust. i smiled at her and shook my head a little to the sides. her hands found my face again and stopped me from moving.
“i should not allow you to go out while looking that breathtaking.” she whispered despite no one was in the room besides us. i licked my lips and smiled even more.
“you don’t have to worry about it. it’s all for you.” i responded and moved my hips slightly. it caught her attention attention and her eyes left mine for only a second. “can you zip me up?” i asked and her smirk grew even wider.
“of course, my darling.” lesso replied and her hands slowly left my face. i also took away mine from her hips and turned around so she could see the zipper. with a swift pull my dress coaxed around my curves tighter, highlighting them even more. i turned around again, facing the love of mine. lesso’s eyes were focused on my body until one of my hands touched her cheek. they immediately flew straight to mine making intense eye contact.
“you’re making me want to stay here even more.” i whispered and she laughed warmly at my words. her eyes closed for a second before she came back to earth again. lesso licked her lips and smiled at me with pure love filling her up.
“we can’t let down dovey.” she said and it surprised me she wouldn’t use an occasion like that to get away from going to the ball. “besides,” she started and my attention was brought to her once again. “i want everyone to see how beautiful my girl looks tonight.” she said and i felt her hands wrapping around my waist.
“i think dovey will actually murder you if we don’t show up in a moment.” i commented and the woman laughed again. i could listen to the sound of her laughter for the rest of my life. lesso’s hands squeezed my body a bit making themselves even more present.
“you can be right.” she replied and her laugh slowly died with it. silence corrupted us for a moment as we were just staring into each other’s eyes. she was the first one to blink and lick her lips again.
her hand pulled me closer to her to the point our bodies were almost touching each other. i could smell her perfume and i literally felt i have fallen in love with her even more. she looked down at me with eyes filled with love and adoration towards me. unfortunately i knew her to well to not notice the glimpse of lust shining in them. i smiled at her while my hand started to slowly stroke her cheek. she gently bit down on her lower lip, definitely thinking about something. i wanted to ask what was going on in her mind but her voice has overtaken me.
“will you go to the ball with me, officially?” she asked out of the blue and i immediately blinked at her words. after a few seconds when it finally hit me what she had just said my smile grew even wider and i wrapped my hands around her neck.
“of course i will.” i replied and she smiled seeing how happy her question made me. she touched my nose with hers and in no time i felt her lips on mine. it wasn’t even a kiss, just a quick peck because she pulled back almost immediately.
“maybe no one knows about the fact we are going together but i think it satisfies you enough.” she said and i nodded at her words still not believing in this happening. “let’s go now, dovey will kill us both.” she said and i laughed. my hands slipped off her neck and so did hers from my waist. lesso opened the door for me and passed me through them. she exited the room almost immediately after me and closed the door with a loud thug. she rolled her eyes hating the sound it made and i just giggled at her. she shook her head and i felt her hand wrapped around my waist once again. she guided me with it towards the stairs and the whole entrance prepared on the floor above us.
after so many stairs we finally reached our destination. the yule ball. the room was full of people by now and a few students were dancing on the floor, but most of them were just standing somewhere not being sure what to do with themselves. lesso has taken off her hand from my waist not wanting to cause a scene. she may not care what others say about her but she was still scared about how the situation would turn out when everybody got to know we were dating. but she did something that surprised me. she held out her arm for me to hold it. i immediately wrapped my arm around hers and just like that we crossed the huge door. many eyes were directed at us not because we were walking together or i don’t think so at least, but just because someone was entering the room and it always drowned people’s attention. lesso was keeping up a fast pace and i tried to match her. finally we walked up to the table where dovey was standing all the time and we finally stopped. clarissa smiled at me so widely when she saw me.
“you made it.” she greeted me, turning around from the table to face us. i smiled back at her.
“i wouldn’t miss that for anything.” i replied and lesso laughed softly. looked around the hall noticing all the decorations and some of the known faces.
“doubtful.” leonora whispered which caught my attention again. i punched her slightly with my free hand.
“will you let her go for some time or i can’t count on dancing with her tonight?” clarissa asked looking at lesso. she had a smug grin placed on her face from the time we entered the ball. i looked up at her and noticed how lesso raised her head a bit and smiled wider while looking at the other dean.
“i think i can make an exception just for you.” she said and dovey shook her head with a smile. i licked my lips and looked at dovey this time.
“don’t worry, i’ll run away from her if she won’t let me have fun.” i whispered to clarissa leaning over to her a bit. lesso shook her head slightly trying to calm the smile that was present on her lips.
“we will see about that.” she suddenly whispered to my ear lowering her head a bit. i felt a shiver come down my spine when i heard her voice and felt her breath so close to my skin. dovey was looking at us with an expression i can’t totally explain. she rolled her eyes after a while and chose another chocolate chip cookie to eat. i smiled remembering how much she loved everything containing chocolate or sugar in general.
all three of us talked for a long time until i asked lesso a final question: “will you let me have fun?” i asked looking up at lesso once again. she directed her eyes at me and her arm gently let me go. the smile on her face faded a bit but a grin was still present. i smiled at her and turned to dovey immediately taking her hand in mine.
not even waiting for her to finish eating another candy, i dragged her to the middle of the dance floor and literally just started spin around with her. one of her hands covered her mouth until she finally swallowed the sweet substance and grabbed my other hand, making our ‘circles’ look a bit more like circles. some kind of music was playing in the background but i literally didn’t care about it, the important thing to me was that i finally made it to the ball and got to spend my time with person i waited to do it for so long. and even with someone i never would’ve thought i would see them here.
after good fifteen minutes of senseless spinning both me and dovey came back to lesso needing to rest a bit. my head was spinning so hard i literally thought i was gonna throw up. thankfully lesso grabbed me with her arms and it helped me calm down a bit. dovey got herself a cup of clear water not being able to look at all the candies right now. i laughed observing this whole situation. clarissa stood in front of me and lesso once again looking at all the students having fun at the dance floor. to be honest, we started this whole party. after we started to ‘dance’ more people were coming to the middle so we can easily take that as officially starting this party. i wrapped my arm around one of lesso’s and she smiled feeling my touch. dovey was looking at us with hearts in her eyes and i rolled my eyes at her.
“don’t say you don’t find it adorable.” she said and i softly laughed. lesso on the other hand licked her lips and didn’t concentrate on our conversation at all.
“i do.” i said through my laughter. “i find it extremely heartwarming, to be precise.” i added and clarissa smiled even wider at my words.
“i’m glad you showed up today.” she said and i nodded slowly at her words. dovey took another sip from her cup.
“i’m glad she came back for me.” i said looking up at lesso but she still wasn’t paying attention to me or clarissa. said girl shook her head at the redhead but didn’t say anything about her.
“good thing we needed her, right?” the blonde joked and my smile immediately grew more when i realised they didn’t need lesso as much as she thought or as much as she told me.
“couldn’t imagine this whole ball without her.” i responded and squeezed lesso’s arm a bit. this brought her back to us and her eyes immediately flew to dovey’s face.
“right.” she said suddenly, narrowing her eyes, obviously thinking something through. i turned my head to her hearing her join our conversation. “would you excuse us?” she asked clarissa and she just nodded turning around from us to observe all the students.
lesso grabbed my hand that was wrapped around her arm and started slowly guiding me somewhere. without hesitation i let her guide. she was walking slowly, passing a lot people who we knew. i just hoped none of my friends would notice us. i saw hester and anadil dancing together being caught up in having fun. i smiled to myself. sophie dot and agatha were nowhere to be found which worried me slightly. as we were approaching the glass door leading to the balcony i turned my head to take another look at the hall, from different angle this time. it was so beautiful i couldn’t get enough of looking. lesso smiled to herself seeing my delight. when we reached the door she she gently pushed on them, making room for us to walk. opening them widely, lesso crossed the entrance and i did the same. she closed the door behind us, giving us a bit of privacy. funny thing was that people would actually have a hard time seeing us, the glass was frosted so it explained everything. they also couldn’t hear us due to the music playing inside so we had a lot of privacy actually. lesso guided me to the railing and finally stopped in place. i looked her in the eyes and saw them being filled with love once again. i uncontrollably smiled.
“i hope you’re having fun.” she said and her right hand found my cheek. i cuddled into her skin.
“so much.” i replied and her grin grew wider after hearing my words. “i’m so glad you invited me to the ball.” i added and she shook her head slightly.
“and i’m glad you didn’t reject me.” she said playing along my game. i bit down on my lip stopping my smile from widening.
“reject the dean of evil? never.” i said fake overtaken in my voice. she rolled her eyes playfully.
“i love how peaceful it is here.” she said taking a look around at the surroundings. i did the same for as much as her grip allowed me to.
“i do too.” i said quietly and her eyes were at my face again. her fingers started to slowly stroke my sling and it gave me even more comfort.
“i believe you know how much i care about you. and about your happiness.” she said looking at my lips and obviously avoiding my eyes.
“of course i do.” i replied and she looked away for a split second. my head slightly turned to the side not knowing how to interpret her quick reaction. “no matter what you do or do not, it doesn’t change the way i feel about you.” i said and she caught my eyes for a moment. she stated into them blankly i guess searching for an answer.
“but i should be doing more.” she whispered looking at my lips once again, breaking our eye contact. she dipped her teeth into her bottom lip not hard enough to draw blood but enough to bruise it a bit. i licked my own lips seeing her movement.
“what you do is enough.” i said assuring her. she scoffed at my words and shook her head while her eyes were suddenly closed. her hand still present on my cheek slightly tightened it’s grip.
“definitely not.” she said a laugh interrupting her words. not a real one, the sarcastic one. i bit my cheek from the inside not knowing how to make her feel better, how to make her feel enough.
“lesso.” i said harshly and her eyes almost immediately found my face. the laughter dead long ago. my hands found her free one and took it, squeezing it hard. her eyes were looking at me with a soft and almost hurt expression. “you are enough. whatever you do i enough. i couldn’t ask for a better person in my life.” i continued feeling my eyes getting wet. she swallowed and looked away.
“i just wished i could do more for you. do the things you want me to do more often. and stop being so selfish all the time when it comes to you.” she said and her words surprised me to my core. i haven’t ever thought she was worrying and underestimating herself so much. my hands immediately wrapped around her waist and just pulled me into her, giving her a tight hug she definitely needed. at the start of our relationship lesso wouldn’t hug me back, but as further we got she learned to hold me too. sometimes even squeezing me. don’t get me wrong she could be a tender person sometimes, but hugs never were her thing. but she got used even to them.
“don’t ever underestimate yourself like that ever again.” i said to the material on her chest. her hands wrapped around my neck, holding me in place. i knew she loved this kind of closeness. and her touch just made me sure of it. “please, lesso. you’re doing your best and that’s what matters the most. i see a lot of change in your behaviour same as in the way you react to so many ridiculous things i often offer you and it warms my heart unbelievably.” i continued and literally felt how her heartbeat fastened. “there’s nothing i could ask more of from you. you’re doing just fine. just the way you should.” i continued and her hands started to stroke my hair. “you are enough.” i added and she pulled my hair a bit. it took me by a surprise so i let out a confused sigh. this move made me pull away from her a bit and take a look at her face. lesso was biting on her lip looking at me even more lovingly, if that was possible.
“i love you.” she said and her hands found my face again. i smiled at her words and raised my head subconsciously. “you are the best part of my miserable life.” she added and laughed at the end. i rolled my eyes playfully. she pulled my face even higher and lowered her head. our noses were touching and she was just so close to my lips. “if i could, i would give you the whole world.” she whispered and without giving me a chance to response, she crashed her lips into mine.
i immediately kissed her back, being touch starved for the past two days. after our fight in her class and not getting the kiss then i couldn’t think about anything else. her lips worked in sync with mine and i sighed into our kiss. lesso smiled but didn’t break the kiss. to my surprise it didn’t tuned into being more heated. of course, not even a moment later i felt her tongue on my lower lip, asking for entrance, which i almost immediately gave her, but despite that our kiss was just full of love but not in the sexual way. in the most comforting and gentle way i have ever experienced. lesso’s hands started to stroke my cheeks and it was my turn to smile into the kiss. she felt the movement of my lips and smiled herself, taking out her tongue from my mouth. her lips gave mine the last peck and she slowly pulled away from me, connecting our noses again. my lips wanted to follow her but i stopped myself. she smiled at me looking how i slowly opened my eyes to meet hers.
“i love you too.” i replied to her previous confession. lesso licked her lips and a grin crawled on them once again.
“you better do.” she laughed gently and i did the same. my hands still wrapped around her waist squeezed her a bit giving her a pleasant sensation.
“i wish i could show you my love anytime i want.” i said and her eyes saddened a bit. i blinked still looking up at her.
“i know.” she said and her hands moved from my cheeks to my waist, she also pulled away more. “i guess you will be able to do it one day.” she added and shrugged her shoulders. oh, that was new.
“but for now,” i said not wanting to keep up the sad atmosphere. i pulled her closer once again and rested my head on her shoulder being close to her ear. “i appreciate the fact you took me here tonight. and by here i as much mean the yule ball as this balcony.” she smirked at my words and gently shook her head.
“my darling.” she whispered straight to my ear and it gave me goosebumps all over again. “there are so many things left you will be grateful for tonight.” she added and i bit my lip. her hands around my waist pulled me away from her so she could take a look at my face. i was looking into her eyes and i literally felt like the whole world just stopped. “we should go back now, i’m afraid dovey will look for us soon.” she said and i smiled at her words nodding my head.
lesso didn’t let go of my waist and guided me back to the inside. i immediately saw dovey looking into our direction with an unsurprised but disappointed look on her face. i smiled to myself and rolled my eyes. lesso closed the door behind us once again and guided me to the table we were previously standing next to. the same path as she brought me to the balcony. i looked around again and noticed dot looking at me, we made eye contact for a moment and i almost immediately looked away. i started to wonder if she saw the whole scene but thankfully dovey broke me out of my thoughts with her voice.
“took you a minute.” she said bored and lesso just scoffed at her. i shrugged with one of the biggest smiles she has ever seen on my face.
“it’s a duty to take the best care of my never.” lesso commented and clarissa shook her head at her but a smile crawled into her lips.
“i guess you’re right.” she said and smiled warmly at us both. lesso fixed her posture a bit still not taking away the arm that was wrapped around my waist. i started to worry a bit about other people noticing anything but she simply stopped my wonders.
“i want to dance with you.” she whispered to my ear coming closer to it. i immediately turned to her and looked at her dumbly.
“don’t you think someone will suspect anything?” i asked and she just rolled her eyes. the grip on my waist tightened giving me a feeling of comfort. i straightened myself immediately.
“you danced with me, so it’s not like you especially chose lesso to dance with.” dovey interjected to our conversation and my eyes found hers. lesso grinned at her finding her words actually useful.
“we don’t have to, if you don’t want to.” she whispered to me once again with that smirk on her face. i narrowed my eyes and a grin crawled to my face.
“such a tease.” i responded and she laughed at my words shrugging her shoulders. dovey let out a deep sigh hearing our full conversation.
“just dance before something actually questionable happens between you two.” she said and turned around to the table looking for some candy again. i smiled at her words and looked at lesso who was already looking at me. she swiftly took away her hand from my waist and took a step back from me. i looked at her confused.
“will you dance with me?” she asked and held out her hand, the one that was on my waist seconds ago, for me to grab it. i smiled uncontrollably and immediately took her hand into mine.
“of course i will, my lady.” i said and she raised her eyebrow at me with a grin on her lips. lesso then took my other hand into hers and slowly dragged me to the dance floor, passing a lot of students or just known faces in the way. i felt like everyone was staring at us but maybe it was just a feeling.
lesso stopped at the middle and her hands slowly found my waist, my on the other end, moved to her neck and wrapped themselves around it tightly. leonora smiled at me, feeling my touch. some kind of slow music was playing in the background as we started to dance together while other students and even teachers were surrounding us. even though m many of them were probably looking at us in that moment i felt like the whole world stopped once again. there was only me and her in. i couldn’t believe i was actually dancing with lesso at the yule ball. my smile widened more as my conscious realised the fact she did all of this for me. to make me happy. my hands started to slowly stroke her skin and i felt how she gently relaxed into my touch. her hands hold me tightly and brought me a bit closer to her. my eyes were situated on her face trying my hardest not to pay attention to the people around us. lesso looked at my lips for a second and then her eyes came back to mine. i bit my lower lip looking at her with love.
“thank you.” i said still holding eye contact with her. she moved her head to a side a bit, confusion starting to appear on her face. i smiled more seeing her reaction. “for coming with me here today. i know how uncomfortable it makes you feel. but i just wanted to let you know i appreciate your gesture a lot.” i explained and another lovely smile crawled up to her face. she shook her head for as much as my hands allowed her.
“there’s nothing to thank me for, darling.” she said and i rolled my eyes at her. she let out a laugh and i literally adored this sound. “actually,” she started and caught my attention again. “i wanted to thank you too.” she said and this time it was my turn to get confused. lesso licked her lips taking a deep breath. “christmas this year feel a lot better and more joyful than the past years. i owe it to you.” she said and i felt my eyes water up. lesso scoffed seeing my reaction and one of her hands quickly went up to my face, to stroke my cheek and the eventual tears. my smile became the biggest it has been the whole night.
“i love you.” i said totally forgetting where we was. lesso laughed once again seeing my sudden reaction when i realised what i had just said. her hand on my cheek never stopped stroking my skin but the one on my waist pulled me even closer to her, so now our bodies were touching. she looked down at me and smiled warmly again.
“i love you too, my darling.” she responded the whole time looking into my eyes. her hand moved from my cheek to my chin, gripping it gently. she raised my head a bit, making the space between hers and my lips smaller. i was almost hypnotised by her eyes and lesso laughed licking her lips, noticing my state.
suddenly her eyes looked away from me and flew to the side. she noticed something there and then immediately her head turned. i wanted to look up too but her grip on my face wouldn’t let me. so my eyes just looked to the side, the place she was previously looking at but didn’t notice anything. i frowned my eyebrows and my eyes went back to the redhead before me, seeing her neck stretched out, still looking up. lesso suddenly moved her head and was looking down at me once again. i blinked at her not understanding the whole situation. she was looking more stressed out right now and i almost started to worry, but she interrupted me.
“you’re mine.” she commented gently and i was a bit taken aback by her sudden possessiveness. she licked her lips looking at me. her eyes were still filled up with adoration so i figured out there was nothing for me to worry about. i smiled at her feeling like she was looking into my soul with this piercing but loving look.
“only yours.” i replied with a smile on my face. she let out a chuckle at my words and lowered her head a bit. and with one swift move she connected her lips with mine.
i was speechless.
i kissed her back out of habit and felt how her lips curled into a smile which naturally became a smirk. her hand on my chin hold me in position for as long as she was feeling like kissing me. my hands around her neck grabbed her tighter and lesso let out a sigh, hopefully only for me to hear. her tongue slowly moved on my lower lip but i didn’t open my mouth for her. i was in too much shock for that kind of kissing. finally she pulled away, breaking our kiss. i was looking at her in pure shock while she was smirking like crazy. her hand slowly left my chin and wrapped itself around my waist along with her other one. lesso’s eyes looked to the side once more and this time mine did the same. the redhead found the dean of good and locked eyes with her. dovey was just as shocked as i was. the chocolate candy fell out from her hand and fell on the floor. i noticed her and she also made eye contact with me. she started slowly shaking her head and i shrugged my shoulders still not believing what just happened. lesso’s hands gripped my waist and i immediately looked at her. she was looking so proudly and i couldn’t believe it. i looked her in being actually terrified what could happen next.
“i hope this makes up for the unfulfilled kiss in my office, yesterday.” she said and looked up. my eyes flew straight to the ceiling, where hers were and then i noticed it. the mistletoe. right above our heads. i looked back at her and just couldn’t control the smile that came up to my lips.
“you’re unbelievable.” i said scoffing and she just laughed. i looked around noticing almost everyone staring at us in pure shock. i noticed my friends looking amazed but not surprised. i uncontrollably smiled at them and hester shook her head at me. i looked at dovey once again and she was smiling this time. her hands were shaking like crazy, but she tried her hardest to look composed. i smiled at her and she raised her eyebrows still needing time to process this moment. i finally looked at lesso and she was grinning at me, still being so proud of her action. i wanted to say something but the voice from some part of the room, interrupted me.
“i told you! you owe me 20 bucks hester!” i recognised dot’s voice and laughed. lesso shook her head at me and my friends but the smile was still present and wide on her lips.
i want to live above a bookstore café and have a little balcony garden you can see from the street that is all

Summary: Wanda and Natasha are in a relationship that everyone knows about. However no one knows that you are also in that relationship. You were fine not being in the public eye, but overtime it starts to get to you. Everything comes to heads at one of Tony's New Year's Eve parties.
An: I may have tweaked the idea a little but I hope you still like it.

Wanda and Natasha loved each other. It was common knowledge to everyone around them. The two women almost drowned each other in affection every chance they got.
They were always touching each other. Physical touch was their primary love language. Always kissing, always holding one another, always attached at the hip.
It was adorable, as no one else seemed to bring out that side of the women. At least to the public's knowledge, that is.
There was another member of their relationship not known to anyone. Y/n L/n, one of Tony Stark's many assistants.
Both women took an immediate interest in Y/n the first time they laid their eyes on her. From that day moving forward they would always flirt with the girl. They had taken pride in being able to make a blush cross her face.
Soon the flirting transpired into a few dates, and before she knew it they had asked Y/n to join the relationship. The woman was hesitant at first, afraid of what the public would think.
Natasha and Wanda assured the woman that they didn't have to tell the public about their relationship. They knew that if the press caught wind of the relationship, that Y/n could be put in danger, so keeping it a secret was the smartest thing to do.
While the sneaking around was fun in the beginning, it began to take a toll on Y/n. Watching Natasha and Wanda be affectionate with each other in public and not being a part of it was sparking an insecurity inside of Y/n.
The insecurity used to go away the instant that the two heroes got her alone. They'd shower her in that same affection; holding her hand, kissing her forehead, playing with her hair. It was all fine when it was just the three of them.
Lately things have been different. The insecurity doesn't disappear anymore. Now, Y/n questions if these moments they have are real. She feels like they don't love her like they love each other, and it's eating her alive.
It, to the point where every touch makes her feel dirty. As if she is just there to add excitement to an already beautiful relationship. Y/n feels like a randomly selected third, rather than a girlfriend.
She didn't voice this to the women, scared of losing them, despite her feelings. She was waiting for the moment that they noticed what she felt or even the moment where they got tired of hiding, but it never seemed to come.
Tony's New Year's Eve party was the perfect moment to change that. Natasha and Wanda had left earlier, while Y/n stayed behind. Y/n wanted to look so good that they couldn't possibly resist her.
Her natural hair pattern abandoned for the night as she curled her hair. Her face which was usually bare of makeup was fully coated. She had splurged on diamond accessories for this occasion. The outfit she settled on was an elaborate jumpsuit. Between the almost sheer material and plunging neckline, she would gather a lot of attention.
Hopefully, some of that attention would be by the women she was so desperately in love with.
Part of her was self-conscious about the way she looked. It was definitely a little out of her comfort zone. Before leaving for Tony's she gave her a once over in the mirror.
She almost took her own breath away. The woman in the mirror was almost foreign to her. A small smile formed on her face," Well, don't we clean up nice."
With a nod of approval from herself, she was on the way to Tony's.
When Y/n she wasn't surprised to see an abundance of strangers with a few familiar faces scattered here and there. This was of course a Tony Stark party.
" Hello there, beautiful maiden. Don't be alarmed by my good looks and intoxicating voice, it is just I, the one and only Thor Odinson. Have you heard of me?"
Y/n laughed out loud as she turned to fully face the god of thunder," Is that how you pick up women?"
Thor furrows his brow before finally recognizing her," Y/n? I did not recognize you. You look amazing."
She smiles sweetly as she observes a bashful blush appear on Thor's cheeks," Thank you, Thor."
He scratches the back of his neck," Well since I have thoroughly embarrassed myself I will take my leave. I hope to see you around sometime, Y/n."
Now Y/n was certain she could get the attention of her girlfriends. If the first person to flirt with her at the party was a literal god, then she should have no problem getting Natasha and Wanda's attention.
Parties in general weren't really her thing, so Y/n made a beeline to the bar. What she didn't notice was how the crowd of people were making a way for her.
Once they got a glimpse, they couldn't stop staring. So as the woman took a seat at the bar it was as if a line of suitors appeared out of nowhere, all waiting to talk to her.
Y/n was attracting so much attention that Tony came over to see what the fuss was about. He took a seat next to you at the bar.
" Well, you seem to be stealing the show tonight."
Y/n rolled her eyes, thinking this was another man that she would have to turn down. When she saw her boss, she let out a sigh of relief," Hi Mr. Stark."
Even Tony himself seemed taken aback for a moment," Y/n? Holy shit, you look amazing."
" Thanks Mr. Stark"
He looks at the crowd and then at his assistant," If you want, I could move you to a more secluded area, so they won't bother you. It's maybe about 50 people, which is way better than the hundreds down here."
Y/n nodded her head and eagerly took Tony's hand. He led her to a rooftop area that was still filled with people by way less than downstairs.
It was there that she was finally able to spot Wanda and Natasha. They were laughing at some joke Clint was telling. Natasha's hand was resting on Wanda's lower back as laughter shook their body.
" Better?"
" Much better, thank you, Mr.Stark."
He speaks up as he walks away from you," It's just Tony, Y/n. Make sure you enjoy yourself."
Y/n gives him a lazy salute before making her way to a less crowded bar once again. She orders a drink to sip on as she watches her girlfriends have the night of their life.
" Mind if I sit," Y/n looks to the right to see a beautiful blonde woman standing next to her.
" Go ahead."
The blonde orders a whiskey on the rocks before turning attention back to Y/n.
" This may be really forward of me, but can I just say that you look breathtakingly beautiful."
Y/n faces the woman," I've never heard that sentiment shared as many times as I've had tonight. It's starting to inflate my ego."
" A woman like you should have a big ego. I'm Carol, by the way."
Y/n's eyes go wide," Carol Danvers? As in Captain Marvel."
She chuckles," In the flesh. What about your name, beautiful?"
" Y/n, and it sucks to have to say this to you of all people, but I am in a relationship."
Carol gives a small smile, " There was only a slim chance that someone look like you would not be single. Can I ask you something Y/n?"
The assistant gives Carol a nod, waiting for the question.
" If you aren't single, then who is the asshole that's got you looking so lonely tonight?"
The woman takes a sip of her drink before sighing," It's a little complicated."
" I've got time."
Y/n found herself telling Carol everything. Maybe it was alcohol or maybe the genuine interest that Carol showed in her, but it all came spilling out of her mouth.
When she looked over to Wanda and Natasha this time, they were swaying together on the dance floor. They looked like the perfect couple.
" It sounds to me like they aren't treating you the way you deserve to be treated."
" They haven't even looked at me all night," Y/n's shoulder slump.
" What if we made them look?" Carol stands from her seat abruptly, extending her hand.
" I feel like you just want to dance with me?"
Carol shrugs her shoulders," Maybe I do, but I understand boundaries."
Y/n takes her hand and Carol guides her to the dance floor. That's when she felt eyes on them.
" Is it me or does it feel like everyone is looking at us?"
Carol leans down to whisper in her ear," That's because they are, and I do mean everyone."
Carol and Y/n sway to the song. Neither of them are musically inclined, but they're having fun. As the song comes to an end, Carol spins Y/n out and then back in. When Y/n ends up with her back against Carol's front, a blush appears on her face. It was impossible to ignore Carol's strong arms around her waist.
A laugh escapes the both of them as Carol lets the girl go.
Before either of them speak, they are approached by Wanda and Natasha.
" Carol, Y/n it's nice to see you both," it's then that Wanda lets her eyes rake over Y/n's body.
" You look amazing, Y/n," Natasha licks her bottom lip.
" Thanks," Y/n says with her eyes glued to the floor.
As they fall into easy conversation with Carol, their hands link together. Y/n's gaze focuses on their hands, and she is instantly brought back to reality.
" Um, I'm going to go to the restroom. Thank you for the dance, Carol. Hopefully we'll see each other again," Y/n gave her a polite smile before heading to the restroom.
While on the outside, she looked normal. The woman felt nauseous. As soon as she was in the bathroom, she ran into a stall. The drink along with the other contents of your stomach were being violently excommunicated from your body.
Y/n didn't see who it was, but someone else entered the stall and held your hair back. They were also rubbing soothing circles around her back.
" Oh, you poor thing. You're going to be ok, sweetheart."
When there was nothing left to throw up, Y/n removed her face from the toilet.
" How are you feeling?"
When Y/n finally glanced at the woman helping her, she felt some relief.
" I feel like shit to be honest, Pepper," Y/n says, while her head rests on the wall of the stall.
" I almost didn't recognize you, Y/n. I can take you home if you aren't feeling well," concern was splayed all over the woman's face.
" I'm fine, Pepper, but thanks."
Y/n stands on wobbly legs, almost falling over in the process. Pepper holds onto the woman, steadying her. She gives Y/n a pointed look.
" I just want to see the ball drop, Pep, please."
Pepper reluctantly nods," Fine, but after the ball drops I'm taking you home."
Y/n rinses her mouth before leaving the restroom with Pepper in tow. The blonde offers Y/n a mint, which she gratefully accepts.
As the final countdown begins, Y/n looks at Pepper," You aren't going to find Tony?"
" He always finds me at the last second. It's kind of our thing."
Everyone is counting down the final 5 seconds. Y/n spots Wanda and Natasha staring into each other's eyes. She can see them whisper their 'I love yous'. When the countdown reaches 1 they're already kissing. Holding each other like they're the only people that exist.
With a glance to her side, Y/n can see Tony in his suit fly up in the air with Pepper. He kisses her right there. Even the playboy billionaire shows off his one and only girl to a room full of strangers.
It's in that moment that Y/n feels her heart collapse into itself. A single tear slid down her face and she wiped at it ferociously.
When the cheering is over and Tony sits Pepper back down, Y/n asks the blonde to take her home. Without hesitation, Pepper obliged.
The woman offered to walk Y/n in, but she says she'll be ok. Pepper waits for Y/n to get in the house before driving back to the party.
The funny thing was, that Y/n didn't even really stay at this place anymore. She lived with Natasha and Wanda for the most part, but it would be weird to ask Pepper to take her there. Luckily, Y/n kept her place just in case, but it had been months since she actively lived there.
Maybe this was a sign.
The woman peeled herself out of the jumpsuit, took off all her accessories, and wiped the makeup from her face. She stared at herself in the mirror, this time a smile nowhere to be found.
She took a shower and then got into her bed. She curled into herself and finally let herself cry.
Y/n had no idea when she fell asleep or what time it was when she heard a banging on her door, accompanied by the sound of the bell ringing.
She pulled herself out of bed and trudged towards the door. When she opened the door, Natasha and Wanda stood on her porch.
" We've been looking everywhere for you, baby," Natasha reaches for her, but Y/n flinches.
The woman walks back to her room, leaving Wanda and Nat on the porch. The pair share a glance at each other before entering the house.
"What's wrong malyshka?"
Wanda sits at the edge of the bed, giving Y/n space. Natasha stood behind her.
" I- I don't think I can do this anymore," Y/n's voice was barely above a whisper.
" What do you mean?" Natasha tries to catch Y/n's eyes, but the girl avoids her gaze.
" I feel like a third wheel in my own relationship. You two get to parade each other around and I get to watch from the sideline. You get to hold hands, kiss each other, dance together without a care in the world. It's hard to watch, knowing that I don't get to do that."
Natasha speaks first," Y/n, we want to do all of those things with you. I'm sorry if our actions have said anything different."
Wanda adds," We love you. We want to be with you and if you're ready to take it public we are too."
" Really?"
Natasha nods," Yes, I never want you to feel like that again. We are proud to be your girlfriend's, and we don't care who knows."
Wanda grabs one of Y/n's hands," Please give us another chance, malyshka."
Y/n can't help herself as she surges forward to meet Wanda's lips in a sweet kiss. Wanda holds her close, not wanting to let the girl go.
It's not until Natasha sits on Y/n's other side and pulls the girl out of witches arms into her own, that Wanda releases her.
Natasha slams her lips against Y/n's who instantly moans at the contact. Natasha chuckles into the kiss, and then bites the woman's lip, before breaking the kiss.
" I can't wait until the world knows that you're ours," Wanda wraps her arms around your waist from behind, making you lay on the bed.
Natasha wraps her arms around your front side, so you're sandwiched between the two women.
It wasn't long before you fell asleep. When you did, Wanda snapped a picture of the three of you in bed. She posted it on every form of social media she had, with the caption simply being 'my loves'.
Everyone knew, and they'd all have their opinions, but that didn't matter to either of the heroes. They only cared about making sure that Y/n never felt left out again.
