everyone in college is eccentric. everyone

you wanna wear full on Victorian suit? the girl in pajamas who clearly hasn’t slept in three days supports you

everyone is too preoccupied to care as long as you’re polite and follow class etiquette

multiple high school diplomas? eh. same stuff. multiple BAs? Enjoy learning chemistry AND art history! All in detail!

wandering around campus at 3am? that’s just the lifestyle tm

no matter how old or young you look it’s not really that weird, there’s sixteen year olds and sixty year olds doing BAs somewhere

big schools are very anonymous so nobody’s gonna bother to hassle you

One of the many agitating things about Christmas is the that fucking ends man. You get hyped, feel happy for once (sorta forgot how to do that), don’t completely despise your obnoxious relatives for five minutes. And then New Years comes and fucks you over and you remember that life actually sucks and you probably have numerous mental health issues that you are ignoring and that the world is horrible. Merry Christmas, now here is your shit tone of sadness and stress, ENJOY!

who is old enough to be part of the fanfic.net era where we literally talked to our characters? like, had conversations with them?

cause I do. as a lonely child of 12 who had no friends, it was a favorite pasttime of mine to boot up the dial-up internet and type out imaginary conversations with ouran high school host club characters in the beginning notes before even starting the damn chapter (which was inevitably 500 words long and absolutely awful)

tony in college: 14-17 years old, very tiny, spending his days either studying, crying in the library, or being cooed at, having his hair pet, and being called an adorable little baby by the girls on campus

tony in grad school: 18-21, finally got his braces out, refusing to be a Sad Bitch in public, finally able to be a thot

tony post-grad: realizes that being a thot is not for him, settling down with rhodey as god intended

Am I crazy for just wanting the Avengers to be friends? Like my favourite fanfictions are domestic ones where they all live in Avengers Tower and like aren’t fighting each other. Civil War is an undeniably well made movie, and yes conflict is important for plot and all that but I have trouble watching it. Probably because I just want everyone to get along, have team movie nights, and bicker about what fast food place to order from.

So, when I was doing my thesis on whether or not fanfiction should be considered a legitimate genre of literature, my advising professor asked me for examples.  I gave him the generic ones, of course - “Pride & Prejudice and Zombies” is a horror fanfic of “Pride & Prejudice”, “50 Shades of Grey” is an erotica fic of “Twilight" - and that seemed to make him understand what fanfiction is, but not how it’s useful.  So I thought about it, and, after about a minute, I said, “Paradise Lost is basically a fanfiction of the Book of Genesis.  And The Divine Comedy is an epic self-insertion fic for Catholic doctrine.  So, basically, you were teaching us fanfiction last semester.”  I had never before seen a grown man’s eyes widen with such fear, incomprehension, disgust, awe, and understanding.
