Every Lloyd ship is so unhinged it's crazy when you think about it.
I mean, there's this psycho princess who's secretly the leader of a biker gang and also a cult who wants to resurrect his departed father and conquer the city.
A girl who can turn into a giant three-tailed wolf and is on a revenge quest to assassinate the evil emperor who turned her tribe to ice.
The prince of an underwater civilization who had to battle his evil octopus brother for the throne.
An anthropomorphic tiger man who's also the leader of a cult trying to resurrect an ancient evil after his home land had been compromised.
And then there's frickin Brad at the flower shop
Like you can't make this stuff up ðŸ˜
So I started reading the new "Journey to the West" translation for reference and this bit almost killed me:
Nezha's baby face belied his powers as a warrior; he was extraordinary agile - able to fly, leap and transform at will - and was armed, moreover, with six magic weapons.
"Who's this dumpling?" Monkey asked. "What business do you have with me?"
"Monstrous monkey!" shouted Nezha. "How dare you not recognize me? For I am Prince Nezha, third son of Heavenly King Li. I am here on the orders of the Jade Emperor to capture you."
This made Monkey laugh a good deal. "Does your mother know you're out, little princeykins? How many baby teeth have you lost already? I'll spare you this time for the sake of your adorable chubby cheeks."
I mean no wonder he's so pissed all the time; this also perfectly explains his relationship with Wukong.
Twilight is the main character, crazy powerful, a leader and motivational speaker, has OCD and may or may not outlive her friends, but Fluttershy looks better in green, has anxiety, anger issues, is kind, a mediator, and sort of in love with a former villain who's also a shape shifter
Pigsy: I know you snuck out last night, MK.
Mei: Play dumb!
MK: Who's MK?
Mei: NOT THAT DUMB!
I think it's okay to headcanon Lloyd as asexual or aromantic even though he has been given a "romantic interest".
Just looking at this scene, the pure distress on his face, the way he jumps back as though her touch burnt him, his funny walking away as if stepping on glass.
I'm sorry, but in no way is this: "Oh, look at him, how cute! He's shy!" No, if that were the case the creators most probably would have given in to the classical anime urge of making him blush or at least have a tiny smile when he turned around and she could no longer see his face.
But Lloyd looks utterly uncomfortable all the way through.
Even Harumi seems to have learned her lesson.
A kiss on the cheek is definitely less assuming and a more universal display of affection. It also doesn't need to be reciprocated, so it is instantly more comfortable and accessible.
Now it might be that Lloyd is looking for a different kind of relationship with Harumi, other than his friendship with Skylor or the brother-sister bond he has with Nya. But I think it's something more like a Soulmate which can really mean a variety of things.
One reason I love Akita so much is that she knew straight away how to approach him.
Jay: What if people had food names and food had people names?
Kai: Hey, Noodle, we're having cole for dinner.
Zane: What is wrong with you people?
Kai: Shut up, Popsicle.
Told you this really fits. So I made this little edit to test my theory. Whoever wrote this really knew what's going on. Look:
"Fall came early (meaning early-childhood trauma, also fall has a double sense here. It both refers to sudden change in the season, and falling from above, which physically and metaphorically happened in the mist of events)
My sun was taken (highlighting either the loss of his Grandmother or of his colors)
So I locked myself inside (well, literally)
Restart (him joining Poppy in her adventure)
Fresh start (getting closer to the Trolls while helping out Bridget)
Head start (being the only Troll ready to give out hope, while everyone else became faithless)
Spring (if Fall meant the loss of his Grandma, then Spring means finding Poppy, someone new to love)
Chains become strings (how he found his long-lost voice, thus freeing himself from the chains holding his mind back to the past, and getting back his colors)
Lift up (he lifted up his own spirit)
Lift up (he lifted up everybody else's spirits)
Rise (becoming as one with she who just became the new ruler of their kind)
I am Branch (simple say, though indication of wholeness in identity)
Bloom" (metaphor for growth with the flower symbol, mentioning what happens to branches on Spring-time, but it could also refer to Poppy, of course)
Shout out to Bansha for being the first ever female Ninjago villain!
Early Pixal and Skylor don't really count.
