Awesome comm i made for @svtvres !! This was so fun
Day 3: Spooktober
Prompt: Twins
I really like how this one turned out! :D
I loved this scene, it’s one of my faves after “Avengers...Assemble!”. BUT DO NOT GIVE THE RUSSOS PRAISE FOR IT.
We were promised “our first open lgbt character” and all we got was that five seconds of Joe Russo being an openly gay man. That? Is not what you hype up the community with. That? Was pathetic. They had the nerve to bait us with that sham of a “spoiler”!
As amazing as this scene was, it was still being used to pull the wool over eyes to “prove” that ‘HeY wE cAn Be InClUsIVE!’
I know the MCU is getting there, but that was atrocious.
In conclusion; GIVE US A FUCKING FEMALE AVENGERS MOVIE!

Cuckoo Wasp (Family Chrysididae), taken May 5, 2025, in Georgia, US
I fear my photography career has peaked with this one. I don't think I've ever seen anything so cute in my life. This little lady was simply just sleeping on the stem of a leaf, completely unaware of the fact that I was frantically taking as many pictures of her as possible. In the end, she put out a single antenna to sense me better but never ended up moving, so I'd say my attempt to not disturb her was successful! I had no idea cuckoos slept like this—it's adorable!!! One billion more, please!!
Braconid Wasp (Family Braconidae), female, taken April 23, 2025, in Georgia, US
A elegant woman with an even more elegant butt-katana! This little lady was flitting around slowly in the wake of brief rainfall, likely cautious of flying, so she made an easy subject. My favorite types of wasps are ones who sit still and stare off into space for long periods of time—easy pickings!
Metric Paper Wasp (Polistes metricus), taken April 18, 2025, in Georgia, US
A beautiful, sleek wasp in the afternoon sun! This individual was an extremely good sport and let me get in very close for photos! Typically, paper wasps are a bit skittish and prefer to keep their distance, but this one just seemed curious. It's always a good day when a wasp stops buzzing around and lets me get some nice pictures! They're usually so busy that it's impossible to get anything!
Chalcid Wasp (Brasema rhadinosa), female, taken April 12, 2025, in Georgia, US
Feast your eyes on some (okay-ish) pictures of this gorgeous woman!! She was quite the pain to photograph because she would not sit still ever. She did, however, stay wandering around the top of the same boardwalk post for 3 hours. I have no idea why, but she clearly liked that spot. It ended up being helpful because it allowed me to spend as much time as I needed trying to get decent pictures. A wasp as thin and flat as she is sucks to get in focus, but the effort was worth it! The pictures don't do her justice, but you can still see how pretty she is!
Parasitic Wasp (Family Platygastridae), taken April 2, 2025, in Georgia, US
A tiny wasp! This girlie is...very small. I happened to see her land whilst waiting for a nomad bee to resurface from underneath the leaflitter (he never did). She sat still for a long time, so I took the opportunity to try to get some pictures! These are pretty good for her size, especially considering how shaky my hands are lol. I found a different wasp later and the leaf she was on was moving so much that I just had to shoot complete blind and pray I got something in focus. It was terrible. Compared to that, this wasp was an angel!
I've got you. A very small (chalcidoid) wasp checking out a bunch of aphids...
Busy today, so no nice bugs. However, perhaps you could take a moment to imagine…a very small wasp. Wow. Nice.
Oh!!! Freaking love these!! The jellybean is excellent, oh my god...
I ended up getting the raynox after we discussed it a little more on the post you made about it! The only time I've ever seen a cuckoo wasp was in New Hampshire, so I don't know if I'll get to try it out on one soon, but I honestly hope not because I have barely figured out how to get a medium-sized bee in focus regularly... I'll probably make a post with some pictures and my thoughts so far soon—I got some really nice ones of a nomad bee and some spiders today :)
I have no idea how you managed to get such nice focus on small things like springtails. I'm guessing it's partially use of flash (I just use the raw flash—no add-on for that yet so I'm avoiding using it with the raynox), but tips are definitely welcome if you're willing to provide any!
i am photographing hymenopterans that are smaller and more indistinguishable than you could possibly imagine
I've gotten some decent quality pics of cuckoo wasps with my clip-on macro lens, but I've never had the opportunity to try with my actual camera, so I have no idea if I'd have the same issue as you guys lol. I both love tiny bugs because they're usually surprisingly beautiful but also hate them because they're so small you need an $800 lens to get good pictures of them...
Here is the cuckoo I've gotten w/ my clip-on lens. They're honestly way darker green up close—it must be how the sun hits them!

Ichneumon Wasp (Limonethe maurator), taken August 17, 2024, in Georgia, US
A lithe wasp for the wasp-likers! I can't wait for it to be wasp season again... The paper wasps are back out, and I swear I saw a spider or great black digger wasp in the leaves the other day, but it flew away before I could get a good look. I also found and lost a damselfly I've never seen before, but I can stop being salty about that when I find another one (hopefully). Regardless, the wasps are coming back, and here is one I look forward to seeing again!
Fine-backed Red Paper Wasp (Polistes carolina), taken November 4, 2024, in Georgia, US
Sleeby!! A beautiful paper wasp drowsing on a yellowing leaf on a cool November evening. She barely reacted to my presence, likely due to the incoming cold. She was gone the next day, so she likely set out once the sun warmed her up the next morning!
American Pelecinid Wasp (Pelecinus polyturator), taken July 29, 2024, in Georgia, US
My beautiful skinny queen.. How must it be to have such a perfect figure? For such an elegant looking insect, you'd think they'd be agile, but I've had these guys just. come at my face. They have collided with me, though they're not alone in that. Too many wasps have crashed into my face. How would you feel if you turned around and immediately received a face full of WASP?
Four-banded Stink Bug Wasp (Bicyrtes quadrifasciatus), female, taken August 3, 2024, in Georgia, US
Digging a hole in the sand! There were a few different species of sand wasps flying around this area, but most ran before I could get to them. I missed this lady initially storing her prey, but I did get her filling in the hole! She posed very prettily at the end, maybe showing off her hard work!
Wasp and bee cuz it's first day of spring and bugs are back :3
remembering i have ocs and stuff.
