died 131 AC, born 1984(?). welcome back aegon ii targaryen
Oohhhhhhh, so fucking Rhaenyra is a massive stain on Criston's honour (that he was willing to die for), but its OK if he's Alicent's fuckbuddy. Love the mental gymnastics...
Saw your brief comment about B&C and I agree with you, the writing wasn't it. The sounds were awful but them alone didn't really move me. I get Helaena's reactions aren't what's considered usual in general but Phia is amazing and deserved something better from the writers.
I will say the same thing I just said in another ask—the writers chose the cheap sounds of gore instead of the gut-wrenching bartering and the horrifying choice Helaena makes in the book.
She chooses Maelor over Jaehaerys because as a mother she thinks it's the merciful choice, as he is a baby and doesn't understand what is happening.
She makes that choice after offering herself, pleading they kill her instead, and under the threat that they will assault her daughter if she doesn't choose.
I understand they might have wanted to portray shock, but it is badly done. Again, I'm talking purely about the way the scene and the characters are written. Phia Saban did an amazing job with what she was given.
BRIDGERTON SEASON 4 SNEAK PEAK Luke Thompson & Yerin Ha as Benedict Bridgerton & Sophie Baek
Hearing the kid get sliced up was fucked. Sorry Haelena, girl. Anyway,
rhaenyra: why on earth are they blaming me? WHO would do such a thing?
daemon, guilty asf right next to her:
rhaenys knowing it was his ass instantly:
House of the Dragon is an enjoyable show, but I think that to really appreciate it you have to have read the books, and I say this as someone who hasn't. The problem is that the first season went way too fast and it didn't develop some characters properly, and even this one just keeps introducing new stuff without giving the viewers time to adjust. I see book readers say how excited they are to see a new character, but I just can't share their feeling because we'll probably see said character for two episode before it's killed off. And this is a big problem in my opinion, because many things that should be heavy with feelings for the characters just fall flat. (ex. blood and cheese)
Where are the slow beginnings? Where are my filler episodes? GIVE. ME. TIME. TO. GET. TO. KNOW. THE. CHARACTERS.
one of the hundred things I love about Andor is that in the end, all the villains were destroyed not in an epic showdown with the rebels or whoever but by the machine that they worked for. syril was a faceless casualty of the genocide he helped create. dedra was done in for putting ambition over conformity to the machine, and she took down partagaz, who essentially created her, along with her. even heert was quite literally killed by his own droid and his own men. all of them were crushed by the wheel they dedicated their lives to keep turning. it's just so deeply deeply satisfying.
