so i’ve been rewatching sk8: the infinity and someone must have noticed this by now already but miya and langa feel like foils of one another???
I mean, super talented skateboarders who got into it to have fun with friends, but ended up surpassing them and driving them away through a mixture of their single-minded dedication and their friends’ insecurity???
It just makes me f e e l things, y’know?

It was no secret that Miya loved cats. Probably even more than humans. But the real shocker was that he didn’t have one of his own. Is there anything in this world half as ridiculous?
Or
Miya finds a sick kitten while going out to eat with his friends and takes responsibility.
Also, I mention a character named Yuhiko in that story. I feel like people are gonna say she's my OC. For clarificaiton:
That's Yuhiko. She's the girl talking to Takashi in Episode 3. She's not my character. All I did was give her a name and background.
Miya tries to collect himself after meeting Reki in the hospital.
He wanted to find a new way to push down his emotions.
He found an enygmatic stranger instead.

This dynamic is so great because it always involves a third person who is, for whatever reason, quite invested in watching two idiots dance around their feelings for each other.
When Miya turns 16, he starts to figure out a thing or two.
He realizes that the comfort he feels when he is with Reki is not normal, his heart feels warm when the older one hugs him, he spends most of the time at the Kyan's house and what he considers worst is the slight feeling of jealousy when Reki prefers to spend more time with Langa than with him
That leads Miya to think, "Oh shit, I'm in love with the slime."
So Miya denies those feelings and starts trying to date guys to stop thinking about Reki, so he gets a red-haired boyfriend with a very curious resemblance to Reki.
But the relationship doesn't work out because Miya refuses to kiss him or do any other kind of common dating activity, so the relationship ends and Reki being the ray of sunshine that he is, consoles Miya for his first love breakup.
Reki mentions something like: "Whenever you want someone to talk to, you can come to me, Gatito, that's what the family is for."
And then Miya reacts and ends up realizing that his feelings for Reki are not as he thought.
Miya loves Reki, but not in a romantic way, Miya loves Reki like family, Miya sees Reki as an older brother and he completely agrees with that.
So Miya smiles at Reki and says "You can count on that slime"
Reki: Pinche chamaco caguengue todo castroso hijo de toda tu pinche madre.
Miya: What did you say?
Reki: That I love you as a little brother.
