I forgot about this art completely, even though I did it last week.

I am generally glad that my skill is shifting for the better, but on the other hand it infuriates that I make everything soapy.

I mean, what the hell, when I do art without lines, they look like my eyesight has fallen even more than it is now. (I have vision - 2)

Some miscellaneous things I’ve done in the past two days. All from photo reference, but trying out different styles.

The previous drawing, but adjusted to be more accurate to reference.

A watercolour piece of a kitchen. Reference from Pinterest. I honestly prefer the uncoloured version and other steps in the progress to the actual finished product, but I’m still learning, so that’s fine, I guess.

Altogether, I’m fairly happy with it, but it does look a bit “off” in some ways.

(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧*:･ﾟ✧ Wow! I might not be completely innocent of bias, I'll admit, but I think your sketches are positively stunning - and so evocative. To me, they always convey a such a heady, cogent sense of the character of the subject. I'm not sure whether it's the way you handle the details (that little birthmark!) or what, but it's working. Your love of and feeling for the portrait genre definitely shines through in what you do. Oh, and don't thank me! The pleasure's all mine. (◕‿◕)

That about sums up my reaction on seeing these. I managed to retain my dignity for all of about .02 seconds and then lost it. I love them! So much! Ahhhh! >//<

*ahem* Right. I'm delighted that you got some use out of my photos, kokomiko - seeing them go from refs to portrait studies was a real treat. Thank you!

Draw-a-follower thingy starts! This is Carletoncolton, who was very generous to give me some of her photos for reference and practice, i think those turned out fine ( a wanderer and a noire lady?). Expect to see more soon!
