Troilus Design! (ft Best Dad Apollo) He's Around 12 Years Old Here.

Troilus design! (ft best dad Apollo) He's around 12 years old here.

Researching Troilus' story is not an easy task because unfortunately most of the ancient texts focused on him didn't survive and others only survived in fragments.

This story is brutal even for greek mythology standards so please keep that in mind if you want to continue reading this or do more research on your own.

Something that all of the versions seems to agree on is that he was a Trojan prince, son of queen Hecuba and was killed by Achilles. His father was either Apollo or Priam (Apollo fits more with the context of the story though).

Most of the versions also focus on Troilus' young age and he's often shown to be visibly shorter than Achilles on the vase paintings depicting his death.

The most popular version of the myth (which is also supported by ancient vase paintings) states that Troilus and his sister Polyxena (she's not preset in every version though) went outside of Troy on their horses and while they were at a fountain Achilles ambushed them.

Achilles then chased Troilus who tried to hide inside of Apollo's temple (possibly seeking his father's protection) but Achilles caught up to him and murdered Troilus either inside or in front of the temple and then brutally mutilated his body.

There 2 alternative reasons given for the murder:

1. There was a prophecy which said that if Troilus reached 21 years of age Troy would never fall.

2. Achilles fell in love with Troilus, tried to force himself on him and was enraged when the boy refused his advances. (This version seems to have more surviving evidence)

It could also be that the only reason that Achilles killed Troilus was the fact that he was a Trojan prince and therefore an enemy but this does not seem to fit with the brutality of the act.

Thinking about how that one dead guy said galatea never actually spoke to her husband when she came to life and it makes me think about how she was only created to be for him. She was brought to life to be a person but only for him.

As far as I know, her creator only created her because he hated women and thought he could create a better, "perfect" woman.

She was created because of a man's hatred. And was brought to life because of his obsessions.

People who have read "the song of Achilles" need to read "the silence of the girls" and Homer's Iliad, as in song of Achilles the story is told from Patroclus' perspective, someone who loved Achilles so he's incredibly biased and mainly focuses on how amazing Achilles was,

when actually he's the reason so many died during the trojan was because of his massive tantrum over Briseis (who would not have been like a close friend to them she would have just been a slave for Achilles to use)

Then again after Patroclus dies he commits horrific acts "in the name of love" but in Homer's Iliad the entire plot is off Achilles anger, it starts with his annoyance of being dishonoured and ends with his rage as his lover is killed because of his original anger.

Greek myths modern Au (Pt.1)

since I was bored and I’m reading a book about the myths for school here you go! >:)

Notes: -This Au is settled in southern Italy

-In Italy, the “Liceo Classico” is a high school major in humanities: it is possibly the only high school in the world where pupils study both Latin and Ancient Greek and it’s internationally renowned for its advanced curricula in philosophy, literature and history. I will refer to it as ‘Classic lyceum’ though the Hc and all

The Iliad

-Achilles is a 16yo artistic gymnastics agonist from Milan who moved to Naples with his Mom since she’s from there.

- Patroclus is a 16yo Classic lyceum student. He could be the best but doesn’t put enough effort in it.

-Hector is a friendly and caring university student, 21yo, is already married with a kid. He’s friend with Patroclus, since he’s an ex student from his same high school.

-Paris is an arrogant and stupid upperclassmen, 18yo, brother of Hector

-Odysseus is Patroclus’s class 37yo Geography-History teacher

-Agamemnon is a short-tempered 40yo gymnastic coach who heads Achilles’s Agonists group

-Briseis is a 16yo brilliant student and Patroclus’s classmate, being one of the major authors in the school’s journal..and helping Patroclus to not fail his classes.

-Deidamia is a rich and boring 15yo freshmen from a city near Naples, Sorrento

-Helen is a lovely and caring 35yo Greek teacher

-Chiron is a fresh and joyful 40yo fencing, parkour and archery coach

(a plus!)

-Aeneas is a curios and observant 16yo classmate of Briseis and Patroclus. He always fights with them ‘cause he likes Latin over greek

-Telemachus is a shy and lovely 17yo upperclassmen in the same school of Patroclus. He loves his family and he’s trying to find a job to earn some money and go abroad to study when he’s older

Yes! Medusa would be such a cool goddess, she has such a bad rep that she doesn't deserve, I hope she and all her followers have a good day

Medusa as a goddess headcanons

She is the Goddess of victims (thank you, @rey-diem )

Out of all the gods, she is very rebellious and defiant against Zeus and those who follow him.

She didn't immediately become a goddess, but after a long time of self-healing and such, godhood was bestowed upon her

She has a strong hatred for Poseidon and Athena. She also feels sorry for their mortal victims who have caught their attention (same for the mortal victims who have suffered the hands of the other gods)

Medusa would be a maiden Goddess, and her sisters would be at her side.

Obvious tension between Medusa and Athena

She is a hands-on interactive Goddess. She always interacts with her worshippers and her children

She's very protective of her people and children

Hates Poseidon and Athena with a passion and tries to keep her children far, FAR away from theirs

People who have a tattoo of Medusa, she protects and they are her followers

That's all. Hope you enjoy.

The myth of Persephone and Hades is so silly to me because the actual story is just some socially awkward guy trying to ask a girl out and asks her father but her dad’s a dick but Hades just listens to Zeus anyway and kidnaps her which (rightfully) pisses of the mom so mom gets angry and they come to a compromise and now Hades has a wife that’s actually really scary.

I can imagine Hades as a pining mess who just sits there saying “wow” and blushing like a schoolgirl every time Persephone starts ordering people around in the underworld.

Listen i know i haven't posted anything about Lancelot in a good while but HEAR ME OUT. Lancelot, the weeping monk, as an Ares/Mars devotee.

First of all, some posts ago i wrote about maybe giving Lancelot greek-roman hellenism as his born religion. AND ARES IS JUST THE PERFECT CHOICE. And yes, this is his new religion cause, first, i am hellenistic, so this is a religion i can talk with a bit of property without commiting big mistakes and making shit, and second because France was submessive to Rome for a very long time.

Ok, now listen to the parallels.

Ares is the god of war and bloodshed, and very are scared of him cause he doesn't hide his bloody nature. Guess what happen' to Lancelot?

Yes, Ares is the god of bloodshed and a scary man at first, but he could love and protect you like no else if letted him. We can say the same about Lancelot.

He's a great father and protector of women, just like our monk boy.

I wasn't even going to do this joke, but he was a lover, guess who else was one?- ok, sorry.

Ares is saw as a scary man, addicted to war and considered and weapon for those who don't know him (saying this based on a real expirience) , and so is Lancelot, saw as a scary weapon.

His sacred animal is a dog. A fucking dog. Excuse me, but the "Daniel Sharman is a doberman" post says everything.

He's also a great lover and the best warrior.

Ares is red, therefore, having Ares as a new red reference would help him with his discomfort with the color red because of the red paladins.

Ares loving his devotee for never denying who he is and overcoming his traumas. Giving him his bless in battles and Lancelot all happy for having agod who matches him and love and accept him as the weird litte problematic thing he is.

I'll make a longer post later but for now it's decided, Lancelot is now an Ares/Mars and Hestia/Vesta devotee.

THE BOY I LIKE DECLARED HIMSELF TO ME TODAY!I'm so happy, he gave me a handmade bouquet of flowers and gave it to me, on the way out he said he liked me.

But I'm going to talk especially about Apollo in this too. I asked him for help with the boy I like, as I said in the last post. I made a bouquet for him and when I put it on the bed, the sun shone right on the bouquet. It's like Apollo is saying, "What's this? Who's this for?" And I said, and when I got home I said how he had said he liked me.

I'm going to make a sunflower for Apollo, and this is my first romantic experience, so wish me luck!

On Sunday, I got my act together and made a little altar to Apollo on the bookshelf in my bedroom. I felt lighter and better afterwards. Before going to sleep, I asked him to help me with my sick dog, and with the boy I like, but he was optional and my priority was my sick dog.

Yesterday I felt that he wanted a hyacinth on his altar. I started at nine in the morning and only finished at eleven at night, almost midnight. Of course I stopped for lunch, a snack and dinner.

After I finished, I felt light again, and it made sense that he wanted and asked for the hyacinth with him in the same way that I asked for my loved ones to be with me. It's dawn and guess what? The sun hit the hyacinth flower first and then lit up my room. And the weather is overcast and it's really cold for me, the light wasn't supposed to appear in my room so soon!

It looks beautiful and I don't regret the hours of sore hands. And Apollo seems happy too.
