Consider- Voltron but as a youtube channel

Shiro and Allura would be the original creators and it probably started as a podcast in Shiros room

They called it Voltron because Allura said that Voldemort was a stupid name for a villian and would have liked it better if everyone just called him Tom or Voltom

It became an inside joke

Shiro accidently said Voltom in front of her father and he thought he said voltron and mentioned that it sounded like a fun name for a metal band

Voltron was born.

Keith is their editor once they make youtube videos, also sets up the sets if they need one, and does it for free for like the first three years because Shiro abuses his role as his older brother

Shiro refuses to pay him for at LEAST a month when Keith realises but then he goes on strike and doesn't edit for them anymore and Shiro concedes

Matt is Shiro's roommate in college and out so hes in the videos sometimes

(People go bat shit crazy when they see he shaved his head in a momentary lapse of judgment, the hastag 'bring back Matts mullet' trends)

Pidge and Hunk join the cast once they become popular on youtube, and Hunk immediatly is swarmed adoring fans

The first video Hunk is in is a two truths and one lie where you get soaked if you guess wrong, like you're head is dunked into a bucket on water on the floor and the thirst traps are born of him soaking and laughing

(Pidge wins. Every time.)

Lance is the last to join and he first joins Voltron as a crew member but Keith doesn't edit out his remarks in a video and he's demanded to be in the next few videos

He goes back and forth between production crew and cast but Lance prefers to be with the cast

Keith left the sound in because he wanted an excuse to stare at Lance for hours while editing and knew the remark "god, Shiro might be built like a greek god but he is as stupid as a rock" wouldn't slip past fans

Their first trending video is called "Screams and Moans" but its all about how much Shiro hates the goverment and how its a corrupt concept thats been warped through time

Shiro did not pick the title.

Allura brings in Coran once they create a youtube channel because she's worried about how it will impact their lives but he literally cheers her on and works as a camera man for the first year when they couldn't afford to hire an actual production crew

Matt does not remember helping to create the channel or the podcast. Shiro and Allura do not speak to him for a week when they find out.

Slowly the channel grows and they create an instagram account, anither YouTube channel called "Lions of Voltron" which is a vlog channel that all seven have control over

Matt slowly but surely is intergrated into the main cast and he loves it but his mother doesnt because shes tired of beinf referred to as the Holt siblings mom instead of the awesome milf that she is

They include her in a video and Shiro is black and blue by the end because everytime he flirted with her (as a joke) Pidge punches him

Romelle is brought in for their sound and screen crew and Keith almost fights Allura because she purposefully sends him bad audio so that she can text Romelle with the excuse of it being for work

Shiro catches Lance and Keith making out during one of his vlogs and twitter literally breaks, does not run for two days with the amount people spam the website with them

Adam and Shiro dated before but broke up around the beginning of Voltron. Shiro calls him back after the channel is set up and they've gained a following because he realised he placed the channel above their relationship, and Adam realised that he let his own ideas of Shiro become obscured becausw of that. They talk again and agree to date now that Shiro has more time, and is willing to give him more

Adams first video as a part of Voltron is "Adjectives and Beards", a game where you come up with a the correct adhective out of four for a photo shown or you get hair glued to your body

He wins. Spectacularly.

Headcanons on how the paladins chill out?

•Shiro rarely ever takes time to chill, and when he does, it’s because the other Paladins forced him to. -One time, Keith (aided by Hunk, of course) had to actually pin him down to make him stop training. -When he does take a break, it’s to make sure everyone’s doing alright, looking over battle plans and catching up on alien literature he’s actually a huge fuckin book nerd ok. -He always gets dragged into the Paladin’s movie nights and, though he won’t admit it, he loves Disney so goddamn much.

•In his free time, Lance has tried to sneak off to alien bars gay bars to meet cute girls and boys. -On one abandoned planet, he found two long scraps of metal and bent them into needles so he could knit. He’s made everyone sweaters and gave Keith a giant floppy Santa hat (Keith secretly loves it).-Once and a while, he’ll set up a kind of spa and forces the other Paladins to let him give them face masks and massages and paint their nails.

•Hunk cooks, of course. He tries to find new ways to work with food goo, and tests out different ingrediants Allura finds him on other planets. -He loves taking long naps (and not getting woken up by attacking Galra) and checks in with the others to see what they’re up to, if they need any help or support from him and is down to cuddle at all times. 

-He also works with Pidge, exploring the castle and checking out all the cool technology it has to offer, making sure that everything is functioning.

•Keith will spend hours just zoned out, staring at nothing or playing absently with his knife until someone shakes him out of it. 

-He creates these crazy fitness-oriented contests and basically forces everyone to fight him or do push-ups or kickbox until they can’t feel their legs. 

-He can’t whistle and he is the most tone-deaf person you’ll ever meet, thus he hums so goddman much. He denies it, but sometimes he’ll just sit and hum his favorite songs, thinking about earth.

•Pidge, obviously, would spend pretty much all of her down time working with her tech. 

-When she isn’t using her computers  to track the Galra or search for Matt, she’s coding, making new programs, taking alien teach apart and making new robots and machines out of the pieces. 

-One time she holed up in her room for an entire day, making a video game and spent the next 48 hours testing it playing it non stop with Lance.

Paladins & Kids

Shiro:

•he’s such an imposing presence that kids can be scared of him at first •but he’ll crouch down and ask them their names with that sweet, soothing voice of his and two seconds later they’ll be all over him •he is a little bit awkward around kids, because he doesn’t have a ton of experience and he’s afraid he might hurt them on accident •but when kids see how sweet and dorky he really is they cuddle right up to him and gets this little smile and aaaaaagghh •one time a kid absentmindedly called him ‘dad’ and he nearly cried •he’d be such a good dad, he’d spend so much time with his kids getting to know them, and he’d play games and cuddle and build pillow forts with them and I just •Shiro the Space Dad makes me very happy.

Lance:

•HOOOO BIG BRO LANCE AMIRIGHT •he has so many little siblings and cousins it’s crazy •he just exudes brotherly vibes it’s like he has a gravitational pull for kids •they adore him •it doesn’t matter if he just met this child 3 seconds ago they are his now •he will spoil them rotten •he’ll tease them and tickle them and chase them around and feed them chocolate he smuggled from the kitchen •big bro lance, everyone.

Hunk:

•he’s like a huge cuddly teddy bear of course kids love him •just like Lance, he does not mind becoming a human jungle gym to appease the children •they love him for his sweetness, his cuddles and his bottomless supply of snacks •big and strong arms, perfect for holding many children •IMMEDIATELY protective of any child he meets •lay even a finger on them and he will fuck all yo shit up • not even kidding

Keith:

• actually pretty chill around kids?? • “yeah ok go do the thing just don’t get hurt” • but if they do get hurt... • the mom switch is flipped. there is no going back. he is freaking the hell out • “oH MY GOD HOW DID THIS HAPPEN WAIT NEVERMIND NOT NOW WE NEED TO GET YOU TO A HOSPITAL-” “it’s literally just a scratch calm down i fell into the neighbor’s rosebush” • kids love him because he doesn’t patronize them or talk down to them • also because he’s as likely to do dumb impulsive shit as they are • he’s an enabler • has such a soft spot for the kiddos • but will never admit it • he has more of a ‘cool babysitter’ vibe than a ‘parental’ one

Pidge:

• but she’s the kid????  ?? • why are you letting her near your children she does not know how to take care of these things • “Hunk get your butt over here right now it wants cuddles???? what do i do??” • how exactly is she”adult supervision” she’s like 14 or smthn • she suffered through exactly half a summer of babysitting before throwing a chair across the room and screeching like a banshee • kids? who needs kids when you’ve got technology • she doesn’t care if it’s an inoocent child if it touches her computer it dies • but as a mom oh jesus she would be good • so confused at first but she would spend so much time hanging out with her kid and making dumb videos with them and teaching them computer science • “honey isn’t it a little early to teach her coding she’s three” “IT’S NEVER TO EARLY TO LEARN”

So I was just looking at this new poster for Voltron that's been flying around Tumblr and I saw this and.... *deep breath* ARE YOU TELLIN ME THAT TWO OF MY FAVE GIRLS ALLURA AND SHAY ARE HANGIN OUT TOGETHER? So... hear me out.

I had this weird idea at 2AM last night, and it kinda morphed into something...  What if Lance could shapeshift?  Just Imagine all the shit he’d get up to-

Lance becoming a girl so he can understand what it’s really like. Lance turning into different animals- a dog, a goldfish, a giant blue lion... Lance changing his hair color and length, turning it blue, green, red; giving himself a mullet or long, wavy locks.  Lance turning into a giant snake to scare the shit out of Keith. Lance giving himself huge muscles and entering space wrestling competitions. Lance entering space drag races  And winning Lance growing another two feet to scare off a man’s unwanted advances to a girl.  Lance turning into the other paladins for a day and making them incredibly uncomfortable. (They actually thought he was Shiro for half an hour) Lance stretching his arms out long to pull Pidge back for a hug. Lance shrinking a little so Keith can bend down to kiss him.

•He loved hanging out with his sisters back home -They would paint his nails (pink with glitter, obviously) and tease him about his obvious crush on the cute boy next door -He got really good at braiding hair and always stole their croptops

•Never play soccer against him he will own your ass

•The only things he can cook are toast and some vague, incredibly complicated family recipies.  -But if he tries to make something from a cookbook or a box there is a 98.9% chance of everything exploding

•He uses the most outdated memes and evreyone on the team is just. so done. -”O SHIT WADDUP” “Did I mention I hate you.”

•Jokes “I’d die for you” -is never actually joking

•He always sits in the weirdest position ever like the rest of the team’s sitting all nice and proper in their chairs and thERES LANCE LAYING ON HIS CHAIR WITH HIS FEET OVER THE TOP OR SOME SHIT AND I

•Because he had to share a bed with like three of his siblings, he sleeps stick-straight or curled up, always careful to make sure no one get pushed out -The rest of the team, though… 

 •He wolf whistles at everyone on the team, but only when they’re doing something supremely unattractive 

 •once he caught Keith picking his nose and the whistle scared him so much he punctured his nose with his fingernail and Lance will never let him live it down 

•He’s been known to sing acapella covers of Toxic in the shower

Because you guys really liked my previous Pidge headcanons here ya go have some more of my fave lil pidgy

•She and Lance have freestyle rap battles -the whole team basically sits back and watches the chaos -except Hunk he beatboxes

•She once tried to sneak into Shiro’s room and mess with his arm while he was sleeping -she had her tools out and everything and was about to pry up a panel when Shiro bolted upright and scared the shit out of her -he laughed for days and she’s still salty about it

•She gets freckles in the summer and it’s tHE MOST ADORABLE THING EVER THE WHOLE TEAM IS WEAK FOR FRECKLEY PIDGE 

  •She is a hardcore gamer and by hardcore i mean HARDCORE -do not game against her she will leave you so far behind it’s not even funny

 •She draws mustaches on random objects and talks to them as if they’re Coran 

 •Oh god she has no filter when it comes to cussing  -*alien says something offensive* “what the fUCK DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME YOU BITCH ASS HOE"  *cue lance falling out of his chair in shock*

•She loves hiding in the castle vents and jumping down on top of people unexpectedly  -she realized it was a bad idea when she nearly got decapitated by Keith

•Sometimes she’ll steal everyone’s blankets, wrap herself up in them and snuggle into a little ball -once she didn’t come out for days and Allura was a little concerned until Hunk assured her that this was normal Pidge behavior

• At random times Lance will come up behind her and start narrating her life like a nature documentary -”And here we can see the wild Pidgeling in it’s natural habitat. This particular Pidgeling is of the dwarf variety, and-” “Fuck off, Lance”

Paladin style

Pidge is such a wild card when it comes to... pretty much everything, really. Some days she’ll be rocking flannels and snapbacks like the hardcore lesbian bby she is. But then the next thing you know it’s a spinny green dress and heels. You never know what to expect, but she completely owns everything she wears.

Shiro, on the other hand, always seems to be wearing jeans and a T-shirt. Once in a blue moon you’ll get a button down or a black varsity jacket/sweater but he’ll only ever change up his style if Allura forces him.

Keith is a beanies and flannels and bomber jackets kind of guy because he’s suCH A HIPSTER UGH. But he’s also such emo trash i mean can we get some skinny jeans and MCR tees?  he’s still not over them breaking up

Hunk doesn’t really have a style, it’s more like whatever feels the best that day is what he’ll wear. He loves big cozy sweaters and tank tops and hoodies, hoodies galore. He likes puffy vests, cargo shorts and he refuses to go anywhere without his hairband/wrap/tie thing. Only Lance has ever seen him without it.

Lance is slightly obsessed with snapbacks and routinely steals them from Pidge, to her everlasting annoyance. He typically wears shorts or jeans and one of those sleeveless muscle tees, but you bet your sweet ass if you give this boy some booty shorts he will pop and lock it like nobody’s buisness.  also croptops

Okay but Keith and Hunk being bros? Hunk knowing that Keith is upset or smth without him needing to say anything. Keith: *grunts* Hunk: Lance again huh? Keith: *groans* Hunk: that bad? Keith: Hunk: don't worry I got ya. Let me make you some food.

This makes so much sense??!!? I mean, Hunk’s obviously the team mom and has to take care of his angsty lil friends.He’s like a therapist- talks with them about their problems, makes them comfort food, and never tells the other paladins about it. He’s 100% confidential, completely respects each of their privacy.

Hunk really tries to understand Keith- an orphan, a dropout, a reject. He can see how lonely he is, and tries so hard to make him feel comfortable and cared for.He’s always there to give Keith a high five after a successful mission, or a hug after a failed one. He makes him cinnamon snickerdoodles - Keith’s favorite cookie - and forces him to eat them. He braids Keith’s hair, (with pink ribbons, obviously), listens to his rants, and is basically his confidant, cuddle buddy and bro.

Lance & Hunk Broship

•Lance will just rant to Hunk for hours about how much he hates Keith -“…and his dumb face and his stupid mullet- I mean it’s not the 80s any more, why doesn’t he just cut it off-” -and Hunk just sits there like ‘Mmhmm, yeah, that’s right, you hate him so much. you aren’t hopelessly in love with that boy at all you totally don’t want to kiss him till you’re both gasping for breath you don’t want to make sweet love to him on a bed draped in silk sheets and rose petals. not one bit.’

•Sometimes they’ll look at each other and nod like they just had a mental conversation -Keith is completely mystified by this •Lance once tried to help Hunk in the kitchen to disastrous effect

•They’re always completely honest with each other; they’ll talk about pretty much anything. (This obviously means that Lance brings up some freaking weird stuff.) -Hunk talks about how much he misses Earth, misses the heat and scents and laughter of his family kitchen, packed with far more people then it could comfortably hold. -Lance tells him about how useless he feels among the paladins, how confused he is about his purpose, his life.

•Whenever Lance feels shitty he goes to Hunk for chamomile tea and pillow forts. Hunk lets him scream and rant and sob into his shoulder and is basically the Best Bro Ever.

These two are just amazing. I love my lil idiots. If you have any ideas/request, please ask me! I’m fresh out.

why is lance's only trait being allura's boyfriend??? everyone, even allura's own dad, thanked lance for choosing her and loving her but like what about lance???

what about the things he had to sacrifice becauee he accidentally became a paladin??? he had to leave his family behind and i bet every single day he misses them, his mom, dad, sister, niece and nephews but he hides it behind a smile because what else can he do??? hes in the middle of nowhere in space and hes got responsibilities on his shoulders because hes a paladin, what about when those responsibilities become too much for him??? hes still a young boy, about 16 or 17 im gonna guess. what about the numerous amount of times he felt insecure and unworthy and unloved and undeserving??? how come no one told him that they are proud of him for the things that he did and how deserving he is of the love and care from others???

do they all see him as the boy who fell in love with allura at first glance who then accomplished his dream of being her boyfriend???

first of all the relationship was one-sided from the beginning. allura never saw lance as a potential partner material. the only thing that happened between them was lance's huge crush on her. allura never noticed it nor did she care to. thats it.

you cant just tell me she went and fell in love with lotor and then found lance when she was looking for a replacement. if that did happen, thats pretty disrespectful to lance but also allura would never do something like that.

i was actually quite shocked that the writers made them a couple. they literally have no chemistry together whatsoever. even allura didnt deserve this. i mean, lance is a great guy and is a great partner but allura had so much more development to do i just -

the lifestyle they lived made it hard for relationships and they showed that well

the fact that they showed that war takes who it takes and doesn’t leave remorse or sympathy behind for the people who survived and how those left behind have to deal with it wow its so realistically portrayed you don’t see that in your average tv show

the fact that shiro didn’t have time to grieve because of everything that was going on and it’s so prevalent in today’s society wow props to the writers for how well they wrote this

the fact that this stuff like labour camps has happened in the past and continues to happen to some degree today and the way they showed it in a children’s tv show the writers are amazing

lance being super insecure, feeling bad because he knows it’s irrational, but he feels like he’s being over shadowed by his fellow paladins.(shiro doesn’t have an arm and he’s fine, i really don’t contribute anything meaningful to the team).

pidge trying really hard to rationalize her feelings; isolating herself completely in the process, but not knowing how to open herself up to anyone, because she doesn’t even know how she feels.

hunk trying his best to be the support everyone needs, but he gets overwhelmed and breaks down because he can’t handle the emotional turmoil the team is unknowingly putting him under, but he can’t let it show because he’s the rock.

allura getting high-key depressed, because she is trying so hard to make the universe a better place, but every time she takes a step forward the galra push her five steps back, which makes her feel as though her efforts are useless.

coran not being able to stay on the same project for too long and being scolded for it, he tries to stay positive with new adventures and tasks, but he feels like he needs to put aside his personal happiness and wellness, because he’s being berated for it.

keith and lance get into a fight, so as shiro is trying to act as peace keeper, he overlooks important information and because he’s the leader he blames himself for any and all faults of the mission. he starts doubting his leadership but hides his feelings to appease the team.

keith blocks out everybody in his life, claiming he doesn’t need it, everybody already thinks he’s the lone wolf and all. he starts getting snippy and easily irritated because of his pent up feelings, which starts to put the team at risk.
