II finale spoilers kinda-

I always felt a bit weird and confused at the introduction of the newbie contestants of iii like they didnt watch the show but they want to win and came to compete but also they have no reason to stay (nobody knew what the prize was) and we dont know where mephone picked them up from

Dont get me wrong i love iii and i think i get it now why the intro felt so weird to me cus atleast the season 2 contestants knew about the show and seemed like fans / people who knew what they were in for or idk theres something about the way iii newbie contestants were introduced that didnt make sense to me and i dont know how to explain it😭

nonetheless with the whole ii finale revelation the fact that no contestant had a life or anything outside of the show (+ suitcases conflict about leaving it behind) is so dhdhdfhfj *sobs really hard*

II 2 finale spoilerss

Box being somewhat of a gag character whose just this box that other contestants talk to is kinda well

Hes kind of on the same boat as the deanimated/inanimate contestants except obviously everyone sees him as an alive being i wonder if he will have any importance plot wise

First time rambling in a while ive just been lurking🥲

My god- id like to think that even if the creators of ii made the whole ‘mephone made the contestants” thing really recently- there was a pretty good set up to that especially in season 3

I believe that the contestants are people the way mephone and bot are conscious people even if they were created by someone with a different sole purpose

I think evidence of that is bow and dough being a ghost and the one of the main lessons in season 3 (specifically in bots arc) that and your identity and purpose is yours and yours only to create and decide and not something done by other people

I dont really see mephone being that much of a puppeteering villain as he has been seen caring for his contestants but also like there are people out there who can explain his complex character and decisions better than i can lmao

The implication that one of mephones favourite (if not his favourite) contestants was not actually one he created himself (bot) is kinda wild to me

-also like the amount of loose ends tied like THATS WHY THE CONTESTANTS STAYED IN THE HOTEL CUS THEY HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO GOOOO *sobs uncontrollably* like that explains why mephone can only revive his contestants and not like yk the world cus if mephone could do that i feel like cobs would have probably tried to capitalise it somehow

The implications that some characters may be a reflection of mephone like i saw somewhere that fan was a reflection or based on mephones love for reality tv and stuff ghdgrhs

SEASON 3 BEING CANON BROO AND CABBY BEING THERE does that mean theres a possible floor cameo (i miss him hes like my favorite💔)

Nickloon in season 2? unexpected but kinda funny i wonder how the hotel guests reacted to that and esp season 3 contestants interacting with the old contestants like mephone was gone for a day and a season was already over damn

I saw people talk about the whole like removing stuff and services from old phones or old designs in one of cobs ppt slides so im imagining that those who were deanimated first were the people mephone made first (since pickle oj and nickel were from season 1)

i hope theres a good end to the oj and paper conflict man ive missed them

it makes me wonder how much of oj pickle nickel and other deanimated characters would probably be like if or when they wake up like would they be back to normal or would they be how mephone originally thought they would be like

How did box's corpse do all those things? Like vote during season 3 or paint (during that one comic). How did box's corpse do all that, and what type of abilities does box herself have? I really do wish we get to see more maybe someday?

Also, theoretically bow, dough, and knife can get bodies again. They can possess inanimate (lol) objects so theoretically they could possess a robot or smth? We know TestTube can build one.

Also, another thing, can't TestTube just repair MePad? I am pretty sure Cob's lab is still open, so you really can yoink the things needed? Ofc ik unless like the memory or other important nerd junk was damaged that might affect MePad's personality?

Also, I am sorry Cobbs is weak af, that means he made mephone 4 with really shitty material! Anyways.. WHO WANTS POPCORN?

So, I know that I could now just talk about literally anything else, because hey, it’s confirmed right??

But something that I was wanting to mention before II 18’s confirmation is that II 17 seems to set up a “darkest hour”

(For those who don’t know what a “darkest hour” is, there’s some definitions below)

The general idea is that the protagonist is faced with something seemingly impossible to get through. The lowest point in their adventure.

In context of the three act structure, this means that II 17 may start with the lowest point, (Cobs seemingly winning)

But something will happen that will lead us to the climax and resolution.

I don’t know what this “something” that’s supposed to happen means in the context of II 18, but that’s something to think about I suppose.

(Also, I could be wrong with the way I defined the “darkest hour”, so take that into consideration)

(The “darkest hour” also has other names, such as an “all is lost” but I believe the idea is the same)

Inanimate Insanity S2 EP16 and EP17 spoilers??

After watching the episode, I’ve been looking at the reactions from people on this site and a lot of them are similar, saying that they, “can’t just end the show like that”, or just expressing general sadness of the show being “finished”.

However, no, inanimate insanity is (most likely) not ending like that. How do I know? Well it’s by looking at the language used for the finale episodes.

In the trailers for inanimate insanity they talk about them as “act 1” and “act 2” like the image below shows in the trailer for II 17 and II 16.

Which, if you don’t know what that’s referring to, it’s talking about the 3 act structure usually found in pieces of media like films and plays.

Seeing as how in the II ep 16 trailer it describes it as a movie as shown below, it’s most likely not a coincidence.

(Below is a general outline of the 3 act structure that I found through google on a website called “Reedsy Blog”.)

Since II 16 and 17 released, it means we’re already through the first 2 acts, meaning that the final act will include the climax and the falling action.

So yeah, that’s it really. I mainly made this post to hopefully calm people’s worries about episodes 16 and 17!

(Even though this may worry people even more lol! Like, “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERES MORE?!)

(Admittedly I don’t know that much about the 3 act structure, I’m just going off what I know and have seen)

So, after the release of the episode 17 I’ve been thinking about and seeing people talk about what might’ve happened to characters we didn’t get to see. (Bot, Floory, etc.)

Now I’d like to add my own question in. What happened to these guys?

Like, aside from Apple and Yin Yang because they’re actually in the show. I don’t think we really see these other characters do we?

(Just to clarify, I mean in the universe of Inanimate Insanity, because irl most just went to other shows ((dictionary, TV, etc.))

Were they also “frozen” for a really long time like how the season 2 contestants were? Did they just, I don’t know, disappear after another character got in?? Did COBS notice them and have THEM erased too??

And it’s not like there’s a chance they could’ve not been made by Mephone right? Because there was a scene of Yin Yang getting killed in the same way everyone made by Mephone has been, and Apple was erased out of existence when they pulled the plug. So??

To go back to me mentioning some characters moving onto other shows, doesn’t that lean towards the possibility they’re not in the same universe if they’re not affected then??

I honestly don’t know. It’ll probably not be mentioned at all, but oh well. I just kind of wanted to give something to think about that I haven’t seen people mention!

I have a theory that the contestants were based on symptoms of PTSD before II17 came out (i.e hallucinations, being aggressive towards others, depression, low self-esteem; besides them being stereotypes) which would make sense since MePhone created them and made them broken because that's all he knows.

ii name realization

Steve cobs actually has a name, Steve,

His name isn't corn cob, while the contestants are just called what they are,

What if in the actual real world that mephone4 has avoided objects actually have names, like in hfjONE, but sense mephone has only ever known cobs or just couldn't think of names, they just got called what they are?

Imagine being an ii contestant finally entering the real world, and everyone is very weirded out that you do the equivalent of introducing yourself as "human person" or "homosapien guy" instead of saying an actual name,

To a contestant it's a weird situation of realizing you're missing several key traits of being a person, like a name, a background, a childhood, as far as the government is concerned you don't even exist,

While to regular objects, these strange almost but not quite people are going around functioning on logic regular people just can't, flaming paintbrushes, psychic candles and spoons, healing from things like broken limbs in just a day cause any longer is inconvenient, (looking at you knife) falling from hights that should kill someone and being fine, summoning teacups from literally nowhere for comedic effect mid conversation, (looking at you taco) doing things a regular person can't, they don't have names, they don't have actual jobs, it's genuinly like cartoon characters come to life trying to function in a real setting,
