As much as I love Jegulus.., I feel like James realistically wouldn’t be able to be in that state of “I really really love him” and Regulus only being in “I mean he’s alright, I like his company” stage.
James is a simp but he also has standards, he loves love but he also knows that sometimes love is better left alone (Effie helped he come to the conclusion).
“I don’t think I love him anymore.” James spoke, he sounded terrified.

James Potter never sits down while eating. Like he’ll just stand by the counter and eat while talking to everyone or he gets up constantly but he can never just sit down and eat a meal

I read pathological people pleaser and I must say, that is like the ONLY fic I've read that made me feel things. And like sure I get all giddy when regulus and james have a moment in another fic but I'm not talking giddy feelings. I couldn't breathe reading it, I wasn't crying or anything I just could breathe and my eyes were completely blurred over during james' breakdown scene. Not blurred over with tears but like everything was blurry and I couldn't breathe, I don't know what the feeling is but it was fucking INTENSE and I haven't been the same since. NORMAL PATHOLOGICAL PEOPLE PLEASER EXPERIENCE??? 😻😻

At some point, James probably asked Sirius to teach him how to dance, and Sirius did. Then James went and used his new skills to seduce Sirius' little brother.

regulus cannot stand how much spice james' cooking has, but over time, he begins to love it (not that he tells james that though)
regulus introduces james to crossiants, and james can't pronounce it to save himself. it drives reg crazy.
james has banned reg from the kitchen. reg is a shit cook and james has found himself burning the food too often when he just stares at his boyfriend munching on a cookie or two.

james loves gardening but cannot grow flowers.

james loves the taste of the roadside pani puri wala, which reg chastises him for because 'no, james, it might not be clean'
which was what started james' idea to run a chaat shop.
regulus has to stop james from adding too many ingredients when he makes french food, because 'no, james, you cannot andaza this shit out. there is a recipe for a fucking reason'

whenever regulus bakes a cake and frosts it, more frosting ends up on james' face than on the cake.
james has thrown a spatula at regulus too many times to count.
and while reg pretends like he hates that, he loves the way james' lips settle into a line the second before he throws the spatula.

and nothing can ever stop them from finding themselves in a tangled mess after lunch, regulus' fingers slowly tracing the stubble along james' jaw and james muttering 'i love you, meri jaan' while peppering kisses all over reg's face and body

James rambling about who he's falling for, and everyone thinks it's Lily until he slips up and says "he" and Regulus, who had been desperately ignoring it looks up at him. Just in time to see James go crimson and run away
"-just so fucking perfect, you know?"
James Potter's voice carried through the stacks of the library as Regulus paused, listening intently from his now-hiding space, staring at the words on his open book but not taking in a single syllable.
"I just...I feel like I'm invisible. Like no matter what I do, I'll never be worthy. Like, why is it the one person I fancy just thinks nothing of me, Moony? Like...just looks right through me?"
Regulus snorted a bit, unable to hear Remus Lupin's much quieter response. Of course Potter was still waxing poetic about Evans. of course he couldn't let her go. Of course.
"I know, but I just- there's nobody more amazing! So...smart, and...and gorgeous!"
More murmuring, then some shuffling as Potter and Lupin sat at a table nearby, now within Regulus's line of sight. He stared more intensely at his book, still listening closely.
"No, I...Moony, it's not just a crush. I can't even describe how I feel. Like, whenever we look at each other...I'm just...I just feel better, you know? Like I'm like light or something. It's so stupid and cheesy, I know, but I just..."
Potter's voice trailed off and Regulus chanced a glance up to see the taller boy also looking at him. Feeling himself go red all over, he quickly looked back at his book, feigning indifference.
But then Potter continued, his voice airy and distracted, as if he was almost drunk.
"Merlin, he's just so beautiful."
And at that, Regulus' couldn't help but glance's eyes snapped back up to meet James's. Because the words seemed to come from James's mouth quite without his permission. And both of them seemed to realize at the same time that James had said 'he.'
And then, before Regulus could react, James turned bright red and stuttered something about Quidditch practice before running off, leaving Regulus to stare incredulously at Remus.
"....Well. He's clearly not talking about Lily," Remus grinned, smirking at Regulus and walking away.
