as it turns out, the man bakugou is — a bit harder to handle.
he sleeps like a heathen; you once thought the dragon bakugou to be a bit lazy, with how often he tended to curl up in the fields of grass, warm under the sun, but now — it would seem his little human form needs significantly less rest.
almost up all hours of the day, and when he does finally lay down, he's everywhere. a mess of limbs: one thrown carelessly out to the side and the other bent at an angle you can't believe doesn't hurt his joints. his head stays tucked into you somehow, either buried in your neck or pressed against your ribs — or you'll wake to find him nose-to-nose with you. he still snores like a dragon, however.
you're also beginning to wonder if there is a bottom to the pit of his stomach. he ate much before, whole fields of things, but you expected that appetite to dwindle, at least a little, now that his stomach has decreased considerably in size. and in number ? you're not even sure how many stomachs a dragon has; that's not something that was mentioned in the fairytales.
it burns through him quickly, gives him more energy than he needs, and it doesn't ever seem to affect his weight much. already, he's huge and thick with muscle and eating as much as he does never dulls the severity of his cut abdomen. not that you're looking all that much.
— not that you have a choice not to, as he seems to have little-to-no understanding of —
the door to the bathhouse kicks open, with enough force that you already know who it is without ever turning to look. you try not to shriek when you see him, because he seems to like that in some evil, impish way.
you've been alone to wash so far, thankfully, as the inn you'd managed to find was small and far enough out from the nearest kingdom that the occupancy was low — enough for you and your little brute.
the man bakugou comes to stand in front of the bath, blinking and huffing against the steam. finding clothes for him was — nearly impossible, and so the trousers you'd found hanging on someone's line outside fit above his ankles, a bit too tight around his waist. instead of a shirt, you've wrapped him in a scratchy linen, swaddled him up like a baby to cover the small smattering of scales that decorate his body, almost like freckles from the sun, though they gleam just as bright and red as they ever have. no matter his form.
a horn has started to sprout, on the right side of his forehead, and you've done your best to cover that, too.
you have no idea how long this man thing will last. if it's permanent or if he even has control over it. the last thing you need is for him to switch back, somehow, while you're in the middle of feeding him, absolutely demolishing whatever tavern you're in and calling all of king todoroki's guards to attention.
bakugou grunts, almost sleepy, and tosses a fat, weighty sack onto the edge of the bath. it jingles a certain jingle that makes your heart stop.
"oh, allfather—" you move for the edge, awkwardly keeping one arm against your chest despite the fact that he's seen it all by now. when you peek inside and confirm your fears, you lob it back to him furiously, as if it were a steaming potato. "where do you keep getting this stuff?"
things have started to turn up, miraculously. shiny things — like coins and rings and gems. things he could not have simply found rolling around in the dirt.
"go put it back!" you hiss at him, and the tone of your voice makes his frown deepen. you never realized how pouty he was, when he was still a dragon.
you think he understands you, and you're pretty certain he just chooses not to listen; instead of doing what you've told him in the slightest, he simply dumps the coin-purse to the floor, and then lets his linen and stolen trousers cover it as he unceremoniously undresses.
the biggest issue that you would say the man bakugou poses is — his complete lack of understanding of personal space.
"bakugou!" your voice wavers, shocked again by his nakedness. as if you haven't seen it all by now. "no, you — get out!"
but he does the exact opposite, which is hop into the steaming water, ignoring the arm you hold out to keep him away as he saddles up beside you. skin against scales, pressing a nose into your hair to huff out his annoyance, to make it something you can feel.
if anyone were to walk in right now, they would — probably think the lie you'd told the innkeeper was true. that you are a simple traveler and this is your mute, over-sized husband.
regardless, you think this behavior isn't polite. especially in a public bathhouse.
"bakugou," you try again, turning your face away as you speak to the wood-paneled wall. "i'm taking a bath, you have to wait your turn."
all you receive in response is another huff against your ear and a low rumble of disagreement from his chest.
he has yet to speak back, and has only used inhuman sounds as his points of conversation. the only word you've ever heard him utter is oi, which he does when he really thinks he needs your attention. you're starting to wonder if he's named you that in his head. oi.
curiously, you turn back to him and the movement has him pulling his face from your hair, just enough that he can look down at you, too. watch you, with the red-rippled sea in his eyes.
they're — amazing, you will admit. just as bright and detailed as they always have been. fit for a fairytale told by the fire, veiled by the soft-ash of his lashes. he watches you through them, half-lidded, and you wonder if it's something other than fatigue that has them so heavy.
"do you know what i'm saying?" you ask quietly, voice lacking the firm heat you want it to. instead it's heavy, too, weighted by something soft and unfamiliar and frightening. "can you even understand me?"
bakugou doesn't respond, not with a huff or a rumble or ever a purr, like the one he let out on the night he lay over you by the lake. you've only heard it sparingly since then, oftentimes in his sleep when his face is pressed into you.
you try not to frown at his silence, try not to let it disappoint you because it shouldn't; he's a dragon afterall, and you're not sure what it matters. the little horn protruding from his forehead catches your eye and you reach up to touch it gently, watching him blink away the water that drips from your wrist — and then he's turning into you again, too close.
beneath the water, you feel his hands skate up your bare thighs, wrap around your waist until your chest is pulled flush against his. you feel his huff, again, against the damp skin of your neck but it's slower, lighter. not laced with his frustration. some unknown thing you feel guilty for liking.
you drop your hand to his hair, rushing full force into all the damned things you've thought about doing but have been too afraid to. he's soft between your fingers, and you trace your nails lightly against his scalp until he groans quietly; a new noise, one you don't know how to translate.
your fingers stop when they brush upon little spines that have grown at the base of his skill, that have started to trail down the center of his back.
suddenly, tangled up in the bath with him, you wonder how much time you have left.
bakugou huffs again into your skin, a little fiercer this time, and it's because of his light jostling that you realize how rigid you've gone. you try to relax so that he will, too, though you must not do a convincing job, because a sharp nip comes to your earlobe.
"ow!" you squeal, but he doesn't let you go far, not even as you try to jerk away from him. in fact, the harder you try the more his teeth show: into your cheek and the point of your jaw and then dangerously low on your neck.
it's not until you finally freeze that he stops, huffing again, with a warmth that burns more than the steaming water.
and then, very quietly, he grumbles, "shitty wife," into your collarbone, just before biting you again.
Im drawing Misa Misa again because why not

Silly bonus:
You groaned, your eyes peeping open. There was a loud clang coming from a pan right in front of you, and a thin silhouette holding the pan. “Wake up, everyone,” Kakyoin said. “I made breakfast. Eat it while it’s still hot.”
“You really didn’t have to wake us up like that, Kakyoin,” Jotaro grunted. “There are much quieter ways to do it.”
“You two wouldn’t have woken up if I was quiet about it,” Kakyoin chuckled. “Come on, don’t let it cool down, now.”
You rolled to your side, preparing to step out of your cushiony shell. That’s when you noticed Jotaro laying right beside you, facing away.
“You weren’t that close to me when we fell asleep,” you murmured.
“Well, it got cold,” Jotaro murmured back. “What else was I supposed to do?”
Jotaro was right. You couldn’t quite pin it down, but you knew for a fact it was cold. After all, in your dream, you…
What happened in your dream last night?
You paused for a few moments, trying to rack your brain of any memory of a dream. Nothing came to mind. Usually, that shouldn’t be a bad thing, but for some reason all sorts of alarms were going off in your head.
You kept thinking and trying to remember, lost in your own head, until a large, sturdy hand fell upon your shoulder. You suddenly snapped out of your thoughts and looked at the hand. It was Jotaro’s, for sure.
“Hey,” Jotaro said, “don’t think so hard early in the morning. It’s not good for you.”
You gave a slight nod while gazing into his eyes. It was always hard to tell what exactly Jotaro thought, or why he did things, but his eyes did give a few things away. Right now, his eyes were softer than usual. His advice to you was not in ill will, or he would have had a harsher look to them.
“This might be a strange question, but did you have a bad dream last night, too?” Jotaro asked. “You looked like you were trying to remember something, and I can’t remember my dream last night, either.”
“Yeah, actually,” you murmured. “I don’t know why, but it feels like that dream was special, or important. It’s as if forgetting that dream will lead to something bad happening.”
“Well, unless you suddenly became an oracle, I wouldn’t worry about it.” Jotaro sat up and unzipped himself from the sleeping bag. “And even if something bad happens, we can take care of it, right?”
You couldn’t help but smile a bit. “I guess so,” you said. “But I’m still worried about why we both had nightmares we can’t remember. Kakyoin and Polnareff had the same thing just yesterday.”
Now, it seemed like Jotaro was actually concerned about something. “You know, actually, speaking of Kakyoin, didn’t it seem like he was normal this morning? Last night he was basically going insane. Has… has anyone seen the baby?”
“You mean this cute little thing?” Kakyoin said as he walked past the two of you. In his hands was the small child that the group boarded the plane with. “He’s doing just fine. I was just about to go feed him.”
“You’re okay, Kakyoin?” you asked. “Last night you were going on about how the baby was a Stand user and everything.”
“Everything’s fine now,” Kakyoin chuckled. “You all were right. I just needed a good night’s sleep.”
Jotaro gave Kakyoin a side-eye, but quickly hid his eyes behind his hat. “Whatever. So long as you don’t try to kill the baby again.”
As Kakyoin left again, Jotaro looked back at you. “Look, I know that apart from the crash, nothing too bad has happened, but I just want to say… I’m glad you’re safe.” He turned his face away after that last sentence.
You turned away as well, to hide your blush. “I’m glad you’re safe, too,” you told him.
“Hey, aren’t you two going to eat breakfast?” Joseph asked. “We need to leave as soon as possible!”
“Coming!” you shouted, then beckoned for Jotaro to follow you. “Let’s go, before the food gets cold.”
Jotaro nodded his head, walking by your side.Once this whole trip is over, maybe I’ll ask him out, you thought to yourself. For now, I’ll just make sure he stays safe.
For you:>
OMG, thank you so much.
This looks amazing.
I love it! X3

MINI RED CABOOSE
Operation - @wolfstarmicrofic - wc: 254 - Trans!Remus
Sirius sighs in relief when Remus’s eyes flutter open. Not that he has any reason to feel anxious anymore. It’s been over a week since the operation, and Remus’s doctor assured them, quite insistently, at his follow-up appointment that everything is healing normally and that Remus should be back to his normal energy levels soon. Still, surgery is a big deal, and he knows how important this one is to Remus. If something goes wrong—well, Remus doesn’t like it when Sirius thinks that way, so he tries his best not to.
“Good morning, love,” Sirius whispers, propping himself up on his elbow to look down at his boyfriend. Just as he had done every morning since the surgery, Remus lifts a hand to his chest, as if double-checking that it’s flat. And then he smiles in relief, just as he does every morning. “Don’t worry,” Sirius teases. “You’re still breast free.”
Remus rolls his eyes, but he’s still smiling brightly.
“Here.” Sirius reaches over to the side table where he keeps a bottle of water and Remus’s pain medication. “You must be sore. Go on, drink up, and I’ll start breakfast. I’ll give you a bath and tend to your battle wounds after you eat, how does that sound?”
“It sounds wonderful.” Remus’s smile transforms into something softer, something that’s just for Sirius. “But you have to stop calling my top surgery scars ‘battle wounds.’”
“No can do, Moons.” He ruffles Remus’s hair playfully as he climbs out of bed. “No can do.”
i love your story’s but the way you write oscar and lando are amazing!!!!
okk so i have an idea where the reader is a f1 driver and is a rookie this year as well and her and oscar and have been teammates since karting they ended up going to boarding a school together as well so they are best friends but oscar’s always been in LOVE with her and she just always thought he thought of her as a sister so she never showed any romantic feelings but maybe everyone on the grid thought they were dating and they are at club or party after race and the reader is being flirted with a stranger and the grid notices thinking the two were together telling oscar who denies they are together but still goes over their and drags her out of the part and he gets jealous and admits his feelings maybe angrily admits them and the reader smiled and kissed him
lowkey could see the reader as a landos little sister if you wanted to add more of a story or drama :)
This was so fun to write 🤭 i hope y’all like it
Summary: They’ve been together for years. Well, they haven’t been together for years. Yet.
Warnings: language, angst, happy ending tho, lots of yearning and longing, sad Oscar
Note: hehehe have fun everyone!!!! Btw shes a long one so buckle up
Lando’s little sister was the first thing he and Oscar bonded over. Throughout the years, he had heard of the friend Y/n had made through karting and school. He was quite elated to hear she was having so much fun with this boy, silencing his worries over the Australian’s intentions. They had met a few times before Oscar officially became his teammate with Oscar having come over to the house multiple times during holidays. Nonetheless, when they were introduced as teammates, Lando took to truly getting to know Oscar.
Surprisingly, getting to know Oscar proved to be easy as all the Australian wanted to talk about was Lando’s little sister.
That was the first time Lando truly ever had an inkling Oscar felt more for Lando’s little sister than he let on. The nagging feeling was forced to the forefront of his brain when Oscar won his first podium and the first person he went to find in the crowd was the girl who had placed P5, his “best friend”. Watching them hug and Y/n shouting out how proud she was of him, Lando clocked the unfamiliar glint in Oscar’s eyes as he stared down at her. It was unlike anything he had ever seen and that image plagued his mind at all times of the day.
He pushed to know more about them, his sister having been decently private about their friendship to everyone. He would slip in small questions about their previous times together every once in a while, amassing information over time.
He learned just how close they grew when they lived one building from each other in school, Oscar making it a regular routine to spend most days over at her dorm as they did homework together. He began to observe her face as she reminisced on that part of their life together. A lazy, adoring smile on her face as she detailed the moment where Oscar had snuck out of his dorm to show up at hers and demand help on his English essay. She would laugh and shake her head as if she was right back there, experiencing the moment again.
Suddenly, he was getting whiplash, realizing his sister was wholly in love with his teammate.
Their interactions became clearer to him even though they were, on the surface, completely platonic. The way her hands would stay glued to her sides, physically trying to restrain herself from reaching out for him; the way he would hug her and hold on a millisecond too long, just enough to breathe her in the way he desperately wanted to, but not enough for it to raise eyebrows.
That was when he understood they were both in love with each oth- “Mate?”
Oscar’s voice filled his thoughts, shutting off the episode he was watching in his head.
Shaking his head, Lando looked up at his teammate standing over him, “What’s up?”
Oscar’s eyebrows pulled together, “The team’s been calling you for ages. They’re ready for us.”
Lando’s mouth formed an “o” shape, nodding vigorously as he checked his phone to see all the missed calls and texts.
“I know you’re usually late, but you seemed kind of far away when I found you. You okay?” Oscar asked, head turned to him as they began walking toward the film equipment.
Lando feigned innocence, “Mmm, yeah? I’m fine.”
Oscar shook his head, “If you say so.”
Their conversation ended there as they reached the woman interviewing them for a Sky Sports segment. The two sat in their chairs, looking expectantly at the presenter with the flashcards in her hands.
The red light glowed bright, a sign for them to reel themselves in and slide into their PR trained skins, “Hi, everyone! Welcome back to another Sky Sports interview. Today we welcome some of the most talked about drivers on the grid as of right now, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris! Hi, boys!”
They nodded simultaneously, smiles prevalent on their faces. Their time with the woman was limited, so she flew into questions quickly. Gradually, they transitioned from topics such as their car and the expectations they hold for the rest of the season to more personal ones such as Y/n.
“So, you both have a pretty close relationship with another driver on the grid, Y/n Norris. Of course, Lando, she’s your sister and Oscar, your best friend. Has that proved to be difficult? Having to share that time with her on top of how busy all your schedules are?” The woman smiled, leaning her elbow on her knee as she searched for the “real answers” behind their eyes.
Lando coughed to cover up his scoff, slightly annoyed by such an insinuation. His little sister never had a problem with priorities and self-discipline. The three all understood that F1 took a pretty heavy emphasis on her schedule, but they also saw how much effort she put in to keep their relationships growing. They never had to “share” her because she was already balanced enough to see everyone.
By the time Lando calmed his annoyance and protectiveness, Oscar had taken the question.
“No, not at all. Having to share her has never and will never be a thing. She’s an incredibly smart person who is capable of managing her time and managing it well. She has proved time and time again that, even when F1 gets crazy, we still hold a place in her schedule. To think that Lando and I essentially fight for her attention is weird and completely untrue.”
The woman is taken aback by his firm answer, however Lando can see the wheels turn in her head as she calculates her next words, “You seem very close with her, Oscar.”
It’s as if he doesn’t understand her inference, his smile brightening as he speaks, “Yeah! Y/n and I have been friends for years. She and I made some great memories together during our karting days and especially our boarding school days.”
Again, he doesn’t seem to notice the way in which his words have communicated, the presenter’s eyes bulging as she smiles tightly, “Oh?”
“Yeah!” Lando’s shoulders sink as he watches his teammate get taken advantage of by the press, knowing everyone will be misconstruing and manipulating his words. His green eyes glaze over as the feelings of hopelessness overtake him. He wishes to protect his little sister’s oasis with Oscar as much as he can, yet he fails in this instance.
Nevertheless, the interview concludes and the two boys are sent on their way, chatting freely again.
It’s by pure coincidence that they run into Y/n, the girl running around the paddock manically. She runs straight into Oscar’s chest as they round a corner, his arms immediately wrapping around her at the movement. When it dawns on the two of them who have just interrupted their conversation, identical smiles fall on their faces. Smiles which hold two very different forms of love.
“Y/n!” Oscar says cheerfully, falling into their forced hug comfortably.
Lando murmurs a quick hello, going into observation mode as if it’s second nature. What his eyes catch this time is the same thing they always have: lovesick grins and barely there touches.
He nods along with whatever his sister spouts off, his mind elsewhere. Although, when he sees Oscar’s face fall at her information and his body flying around, running in the direction they just came from, he realizes it’s probably best to tune in.
“What’s going on?” He asks, concerned, whilst grabbing his sister’s arm and forcing her to stay long enough to clue him in.
Her chuckling makes the tension in his shoulders ease, “Oh, it’s just I lost that McLaren sweatshirt Oscar gave me with his number on it last year. I know it’s in the paddock somewhere because I showed up wearing it, but I can’t remember where I put it.”
Lando’s face scrunches, “Why do you have merch from another team? And why are you wearing it to a race where you’re working for another team?”
Her innocent smile equates to his heart crushing, her naivety getting the best of her, “Because Oscar got it for me and I want to support him. He’d do the same for me.”
He nods, not wanting to bring up the topic of Oscar having feelings for her again after they’d had it so many times before. All he does is scoff obnoxiously as she runs off after Oscar, yelling, “When are you going to wear one of my sweatshirts?!”
Her gleaming face catches his eyes, “Never! That’s what sisters are for!”
He laughs to himself, “That doesn’t make any sense!”
But, she’s too far to hear him and, in the distance, he sees her reach Oscar, her body crashing into his as she hugs him from the side. His arms coming around to squeeze her impossibly close, Lando wonders if they’ll ever realize what’s left unsaid.
—
Dinner with the grid is always chaotic and tonight is no different. Every single driver in the 2023 season sits in a chair in the corner of a luxurious restaurant, a table so loud people have purposefully moved away. Their laughs echo off the walls and different conversations taking place from every part of the table announce their presence unlike anything else.
“Lando, I’ve always wondered how you felt when Oscar and Y/n told you they were together?” Charles’ giddy voice floats across the party, everyone clueing in to Lando’s answer whilst simultaneously keeping their chatter going.
It’s only when Oscar and Y/n deny their being together that the group falls incredibly silent.
“What?” Daniel asks in disbelief, eyes bulged and mouth agape as he stares at the two.
Lando shakes his head, not surprised in the least that his friends and coworkers believed in something so obvious.
“We aren’t together?” Y/n repeats, Oscar’s face heating up as he sinks slightly into his chair beside her.
Esteban slams his hands on the table as he gasps, slightly drunk, “Yes, you are!”
It’s when his sister stutters, at a loss for words, that Lando steps in, “They aren’t together, guys.”
Every driver aside from the two McLaren drivers and the one female driver sits frozen in their seats, minds reeling from the revelation.
“But,” Alex begins, “what about Y/n wearing Oscar’s number?” His eyes meet each driver, still stunned.
Y/n laughs, “It’s a joke!”
Lando sees the way Oscar’s eyes slowly trail up to stare at the side of her face. They’re drowning in sorrow and longing, the first time Lando’s ever seen him so openly yearn for her. It’s sobering, the turmoil Lando witnesses pass through his friend. He’s so inclined to stand up and yell at them for being so stupid all these years, but he’s so blatantly aware of the fact that they’ll never admit it until they’re absolutely pushed to their breaking point.
While Oscar seems to be reaching it, Lando knows him too well to understand that he’ll go farther, so determined to keep her in his life. The thought makes him down the rest of his beer, wishing greatly for something stronger.
The universe compliments his idea when the waiter comes by and drops the different checks.
“Let’s get to this club, yeah?” He yelps, everyone seemingly dropping the topic of Oscar and Y/n at the notion.
Whoops and hollers meet his ears as everyone throws down their credit cards, the excitement a deep contrast to the sunken face of his teammate.
—
“I’m going to go get another drink!” Y/n yells over the loud music, her words directed mostly toward her brother and best friend although the entire table picks up on it. If anything, Lando’s beat when it comes to the amount of protection held toward his sister. With her being the only woman on the grid, each driver took up a special kind of defensiveness when it came to her. Her age contributed to it greatly, her being slightly younger than Oscar and making her the youngest on the grid. They’re all careful with her, something Lando’s grateful for as time and time before have proven that when he’s not looking out for her, someone else is.
The group nods, Y/n smiling and chuckling at their synchronization and attentiveness to her whereabouts. Their eyes linger on her, making sure she makes it safely to the bar, but it’s fleeting once they become engrossed in their conversation again. Oscar’s gaze stays with her, something everyone else notices.
Max is the first one to call him out on the elephant in the room, “How are you guys not together?”
Oscar seems to think the champion is talking to something else, his entire face turned to the side as he watches the bartender not-so-discreetly look down her top.
Lando hits him on the arm and it’s enough to bring him back from the angry thoughts warring on in his mind, “Sorry, what?”
George presses just as Max is about to, “How are you two not together?”
Oscar shakes his head, “It’s never come up.”
Lando involuntarily lets out a noise of disagreement, all drivers turning to him. He gives Oscar a side glance, “Come on, mate. That’s not true.”
Immediately, Oscar gets defensive. His arms come up frustratedly as he scoffs, “It hasn’t!”
Carlos laughs slightly, “Hasn’t or you haven’t worked up the confidence to initiate it?”
Oscar groans, sitting back in the booth, and speaking quickly, “I don’t know what to tell you all here. We’ve been friends for years and the feelings I have for her mean shit. They always have and they always will. It’s not worth destroying the bond I already have with her trying to get a new one.”
Lewis’ response is instantaneous, “You sure?”
His comment would’ve gone ignored if his eyes hadn’t been looking off curiously into the party. Pairs of eyes follow his and Oscar’s heart drops at the sight they all collectively come to meet.
A random man lays a hand on Y/n’s waist as they lean on the bar beside them. She laughs at something he says and lays a hand on his bicep before utilizing the fact that he’s taller than her and giving him a look that would have any man falling to their knees. The drivers, except Oscar, tear their gaze away, giving each other minor glances that say way more than words could.
Even with all the noise around them, it’s quiet in their corner as they stare at Oscar, trying to anticipate his next move. Lando thinks he’s about to get about and dart over, claiming what’s always been his, but, at the last moment, the Australian whips his head back around and takes a sip of his drink, acting nonchalantly.
The group sighs, all giving up and going back to their side conversations. Oscar’s the only one to sit with himself, quietly, and Lando knows it’s because he’s trying so hard to restrain the last bit of self-control. He can practically see the battle going on within the walls of his head, recognizing that kind of self-doubt and sympathizing.
At some point, Oscar loses the battle he’s been fighting for years and abruptly stands from the table, jostling glasses as he runs through the crowd.
The rest of them nod, satisfied, and turn their heads away, feeling as if they need to give the two privacy for a moment that could either go perfectly right or horribly wrong.
When he reaches her, the flirting has gotten worse. Hands linger in places he’s wanted to touch for years and eyes stare at the lips he’s wanted to kiss for, what feels like, his entire life.
He sidles up to her as if he’s done it for so long, “Babe, what’s taking you so long?”
Her eyes meet his when she feels his hands circle around her waist, Oscar’s hands having pushed the other man’s away once he got there.
She gives him a quizzical look at the pet name before beginning, “Osc, what’s u-”
He extends his arm, interrupting her and setting his eyes on the stranger he loathes, “I’m Oscar. Y/n’s boyfriend.”
He can see out of his peripheral how her face contorts in mass amounts of confusion, “Wha-” She tries again, but it’s the other man that stops her this time.
“Boyfriend? Oh, my bad, mate, I didn’t know.” The guy says, truly remorseful for his “mistake” and it hits Oscar right in the chest. This man seems genuine and nice, everything Y/n deserves, yet he cannot physically bring himself to let anyone else know what she tastes like, feels like, loves like.
Even though he hasn’t experienced any of those things, he’s determined to.
—
The car ride is quiet as Oscar drives the two of them back to the hotel they’re staying at. After he pulled her away from the man, she had shut him out for the rest of the night, gluing herself to Lando. Her brother must have caught on because when it came to him driving her home, he bailed and forced her to get in Oscar’s car.
There was no further discussion, he shut her up with “I’m your big brother. You’re going to follow what I say.”
To say she was annoyed would be the biggest understatement of the year. She was close to fuming.
Oscar didn’t push her, not wanting to add fuel to the fire when he started it, so they sat in silence.
Uncomfortable silence. Something they had never experienced together.
When he pulled into the parking space in the structure, she flew out and slammed the door behind her.
“Y/n, I’m sorry.” He concurred, eyes blurring as he stared at her retreating frame.
She stopped, turning around and staring at him from her side of the garage.
“Why?” She asked aggressively.
“Why what?” He asked back, standing by the trunk of his car.
She exhaled a loud breath and walked closer to him, “Why’d you interrupt me with that guy? Why’d you say you were my boyfriend?”
Suddenly, his confidence from earlier was fading and he began to retreat back to the safe excuses, “You looked uncomfortable.”
He walked away from her, keys clinking against the cards of his wallet before the sound of her rapid footsteps replaced it. Her small hand wrapped forcefully around his arm and turned him around.
What he found was a red Y/n, exhausted with anger, “I fucking wasn’t!”
He shrugged, acting indifferent, something he didn’t know hurt Y/n deeply, “Oh, sorry.”
He tried to turn around again, run away from her and this situation, but her hands pulled him back once more.
“Jesus, Y/n! Can you let me go to bed?” He exclaimed, annoyance with himself rather than annoyance with her. Though, she didn’t know that. The two were in the same situation yet so far apart: both in love with each other, but too engrossed in their own fears and insecurities to realize the pleading in the other’s eyes was the same swimming in theirs.
“No!” She yelled, hands flinging out by her sides, “Tell me why you said you were my boyfriend, Oscar!”
She was determined now, not deterred by his disagreeance, “Fuck, no, Y/n! It’s fucking nothing! Leave it alone!”
Her hands on his shoulders, she began shaking him lightly, “Why, Oscar?!”
Their yelling was bouncing off the concrete walls of the building. If anyone else was in it, they would be able to hear their long overdue argument clearly.
His mind closed in on itself, going haywire at the feelings of panic. He wasn’t ready to lose her, wasn’t ready to blurt out his feelings and have his whole world come crashing down around him. The friends held different determinations, the topics of which should have pushed them closer together, but continued to push them apart.
His eyes darted around as she yelled again, “Oscar! Why?!”
It was frantic and quick, his response, “YOU KNOW WHY!”
His loud yell had her coming back with the same amount of volume, both testing just how echoey the walls around them could be.
“NO, I FUCKING DON’T! I NEVER HAVE! WHY DID YOU DO THAT TONIGHT?”
“BECAUSE I FUCKING LOVE YOU! FUCK, I’M SO IN LOVE WITH YOU AND IT’S EATEN ME ALIVE THIS WHOLE TIME! I’M SO FUCKING SICK OF LOVING YOU FROM THE SIDELINES AND WATCHING EVERY OTHER GUY BE LOVED BY YOU, SOMETHING THEY DON’T EVEN DESERVE, BY THE WAY! HELL, I DON’T EVEN FUCKING DESERVE IT, BUT I’M TOO IN LOVE WITH YOU TO THINK THAT WAY. I FUCKING LOVE YOU, Y/N.” He stopped to catch his breath, volume retreating back to a quiet whisper as he looked down at her, “I fucking love you.”
She stared back at him, hands still on his shoulders, with a shaking frame. Her mind lost all power as she smiled at him, immediately moving her hands closer to his neck and bringing his lips down to hers.
What he thought would be a rejection turned out to be something he had thought about for an ungodly amount of time. Her plush, soft lips met his in a tender way, slowly melding together.
There were only a few times in Oscar’s life where he became so overwhelmed with emotion, he broke out of his unbothered persona and showed the outside world the intense feelings he was experiencing.
This was one of those times.
He grabbed her waist as if it grounded him in such a heavy moment. They stood, huddled together, in the middle of the parking lot kissing each other with such certainty that it reaffirmed the inferences made by everyone else.
Their friends, families, co-workers were all right. Everyone was right.
That revelation sat in Oscar’s chest as he tangled his other hand in her hair and pushed her lips further into him. He had wasted so much time engrossed in his feelings for her, he had failed to see hers.
From the nights she spent staying up late because he wasn’t prepared for whatever test they had the next day to the times she would solely come over to his house to cook food because he hadn’t eaten anything for dinner and didn’t know how to cook it himself now held a different light. A light that was no longer shunned by the longing he had been distracted with. A light that exemplified her kind, loving demeanor, something so comforting it couldn’t ever possibly pass as platonic. A light that slapped him so hard across the face, woke him up so harshly, he found himself thinking back to all their times together and realizing that while he was yearning for her love, she was yearning all the same.
When they pulled away and he was met with her grin, the grin she had given multiple times before, his brain recognized how adoring it was.
Always adoring him, always loving him, right in front of him.
He sighed softly, “You love me.”
He stated it in disbelief, but she confirmed when she nodded softly, “Yes, I do.”
He kissed her softly again, “I’m sorry for how long it took me to realize.”
She shook her head, “It’s my fault all the same, Osc.”
He laughed and moved to pull her into him, hugging her. Their hug, however, felt different. Now, he could let his hands linger and wander freely. Now, she could breathe in his scent openly, committing it to memory.
Now, they could love each other in the way they wanted to.
Still, lonesome in the parking lot, he pulled away and smiled at her, “The one thing I’m not sorry for, though, is pulling you away from that guy.”
She laughed, a sound he could now outwardly call his favorite sound, “Me too, Osc. Me too.”
A/N: hope you liked it (and cried) 😚 also lmk if y’all want a pt 2 to this where Oscar and yn go public to Lando, the grid and the public and everyone’s like “ok… we knew it was going to happen anyway 🤨” bc i think that could be funny

______________
It would never stop being weird.
Looking at Miguel O’Hara with a tiny female spider by his side, her arm wrapped around his giant forearm, resulting in a confusing image.
Yet, the image continued as Gwen, Miles, Hobie, and Pavitr looked at you and your husband passing through the cafeteria and going to his office.
“How long have they been married?” Miles asked. Pavitr counted with his fingers.
“I think they’re about to turn two years,” he replied. Hobie smirked, looking at his friend.
“The wedding was sick… Remember?” Gwen and Miles looked at each other confused.
“What happened at the wedding?” The blonde girl asked.
Out of nowhere, Peter B. Parker appeared with a tray of food and Mayday on top of his head.
“Hey, kids. What are you talking about?”
“Miguel and y/n’s wedding,” Miles answers.
Peter lets out a little sigh like he is bringing back a happy memory. Pavitr also made the same gesture.
“It was a wonderful night…” Mayday went straight to Hobie’s arms, and the man was funnily tickling her. So Peter took advantage of that and got his phone out.
“I have pictures!” Gwen and Miles let out a NO WAY, LET ME SEE in unison.
“Alright, alright. Here’s the ceremony…” The phone displayed a picture of what seemed like a church. You had an elegant and vintage dress, Miguel was wearing a tuxedo, and the place was full of candles and sparkles that made the picture look so perfect that it was concerning.
“Miguel looks…” Gwen started.
“Happy?” Hobie asks for her. Everyone nods.
“Oh, show her the party, man,” Hobie suggested with a big grin. Making Miles and Gwen even more confused.
Some pics showed your friends, Jess and Margo, as your bridesmaids. Lego Spider-Man was one of Miguel’s best men; the cake had six layers.
It was a big celebration. With many spider people around, part of your family, and what seemed like a summer afterparty.
Gwen giggled at the variety of pictures; you and Miguel cutting the cake, the waltz… until the pictures turned a little… intense.
“Damn…” Miles let out. Hobie started laughing, looking at the pictures, and Pavitr was getting blushed.
From alcohol shots, a mess in the pool, and you and Miguel doing the infamous wedding garter removal.
“OKAY!… this is not for kids,” Peter yelled, snatching the phone from the pair of teenagers.
“How did that happen?” the girl asked. Neither she nor Miles could believe they would live to see Miguel, you, and other serious spider people doing things like that.
“Alcohol. Boss was drunk as hell….” Hobie said, evidently mocking the leader of the Spider Society.
“It was after the family left, only… close friends. I must admit it’s the coolest wedding I’ve ever been invited to,” Peter accepted. Pavitr nodded.
“Yes, it was at the same level as an Indian wedding,” that was a lot to say.
Soon, Lyla appeared and gave a disapproving look to the whole table.
“Why are you here doing nothing? Jess assigned new missions and- AWW, Is that a picture from Miguel and y/n’s wedding?” The AI appeared beside Peter, looking at his phone.
“Yes. Was a good party, remember?” Lyla nodded at Hobie.
“Until they left for their honeymoon. And I had to do all the job myself for….like a month.”
“You sound like you suffered…” Gwen said.
“I did”
“You’re an AI, Lyla. You can’t feel anything….” Everyone laughed.
“Insensible kids. Now go meet Jess for the mission’s debriefing unless you want Miguel's lecture on your lives.”
With that, everyone left to their respective rooms to hear the debriefings.
…
“Well, that was fun,” Miles commented. Enjoying a giant cheese empanada from the cafeteria. Gwen nodded, and Hobie shrugged, following them.
“Time to go home. I’m tired…” Everyone started to say their goodbyes. Hobie was gone, and then Margo appeared, running towards them.
“Hey! What’s up, Margo?” Jealousy immediately invaded Gwen, and she soon went to appear beside Miles. Nothing personal, but the feeling had been evolving. She liked Margo but didn’t like how she and Miles interacted.
“Haven’t you heard?… y/n is injured” The pair looked between them worriedly.
“Is she okay?”
“I don’t know. I was about to go and see her. Jess said it was delicate.”
Everyone started pacing towards the clinic.
It was as big as the whole HQ; bright, clean, and futuristic.
Many spiders were there, injured people, waiting for surgery, medicines, etc.
However, their way was towards one of the private rooms.
There, you were lying in a bed in the center.
Beside you, Miguel holding your hand.
In a hologram form, Jess and Lyla were looking too.
“What are you doing here?” Miguel asked, intimidating Gwen, Margo, and Miles with his massive height.
“We heard y/n was injured…” Margo dared to respond.
You smiled. You really loved them, so you giggled.
“This isn’t over…” Miguel spoke once again, pointing at you. Oh, Miguel and his so-ever-grumpy attitude.
But you knew there was a lot to talk about back home. A lot…
“Are you okay?”
“Are you gonna be able to go back to work tomorrow?” Miles and Gwen bombard you with lots of questions. Margo was always more considerate, so she stood quiet.
And Miguel was rolling his eyes and looking beyond annoyed, cringed by his younger employees’ questions.
“No, stop saturating her with stupid questions. She’s pregnant, kids….” Miguel said, maintaining his stoic posture.
Jess let out a little laugh, noticing that Margo was the only one to react at the moment.
Her mouth opened to form a big o of shock.
“Do you have anything broken?” The blonde girl in turquoise Converse asked.
“Just my ankle, a sprain in my inner tight… oh, and I have a baby,” you comment softly, rubbing your stomach with a smile.
The teenagers keep making comments Margo is already paralyzed. You laugh again, covering your lips. Then turn to look at Miguel, who’s rolling his eyes again.
“YOU WHAT?…” their eyes are going to pop out.
“You’re pregnant?” Gwen asks.
“That’s why I just said…” Miguel adds with frustration. Then proceeding to whisper something in Spanish.
“I’m very happy for you two, congratulations” Margo is always polite and sweet. You accept her hug, and the other two teens are all over you. Showering you with ideas for baby names, a baby shower hosted by Peter, and making the kid’s first birthday party in the HQ.
“We have to tell this to the others!”
“No. We don’t want to. “
But Miles and Gwen are already out, both still in shock, ignoring Miguel and his desire to keep your status private.
You don’t mind, actually. Everyone would know in a couple of months. But Miguel… what can you say? He’s your husband.
And he kept pinching the bridge of his nose, proving how annoyed he was.
“Paciencia, paciencia…” he keeps murmuring. Margo giggles before turning to leave.
“I’ll try to stop them,” she offers.
“Thanks, Margo,” your husband thanks her with a brief glance.
“Someone has to stop those kids and their unlimited energy” Jess comments, making you laugh.
Soon, it’s just you and your husband.
“Now what?” You ask, rubbing your eyes.
Miguel leans to brush some strays of hair behind your ear, giving you a warm look.
“Now I’m taking you home…”
He thinks you look sweet with the hospital gown, perfect hair, and no makeup.
And although he’s scared as hell of you being already so far in the pregnancy, he dreams of the day you are in the same position. With a baby in your arms…
…
“Your wife is almost six months pregnant…” Spider-doctor had said.
“Sorry… I’M WHAT?”
Miguel stood there frozen, holding your hand. You were also in shock.
His world sure stopped for some seconds. All the months trying, wondering why you couldn’t get pregnant, it was because you were already growing a baby.
“But-… I don’t have any symptoms. I don’t even have a belly,” you blurt. "Human bodies work out differently. For spiders, it can work beyond differently” Miguel, and you turn to look at each other.
His face came to hide in your shoulder almost immediately. Whispering ‘thank you’ multiple times, kissing your hair, working in private, so Doctor Spider-man couldn’t see.
Almost six months of going to missions like nothing, having sex like always (every day, at least four rounds). Damn… Miguel had to be more careful.
“I’ll come again to get you a scan and everything. I’m going to leave to get your blood test results.” With that, Doctor Spider-man leaves.
Now, you are sitting in your bed. Remembering the moment you found out the news. Looking at the candles that illuminated your desk across your bookshelves.
In a moment, Miguel entered with a little tray.
“I got your favorite chicken wrap, tea, and cookies…” Now you know you’re pregnant and suddenly want to cry about everything. He was so sweet. His reaction to the pregnancy was calm, and he promised to look forward instead of his past. And now he appeared at your door with some of your favorite snacks and looked beautiful; yes, you’re crying.
“Oh no. Don’t cry, hermosa,” he soothes you. Your little whimpers made him realize he had to be careful with his words. Then the thought of you being unconsciously reckless, putting yourself in danger, edging Miguel towards another breakdown…
“It’s just that… I’m- we’re halfway through this, and I can’t believe everything I did. I could have….”
“No. It was almost impossible to know you were pregnant, love. You would’ve not put yourself in danger at the slight chance….”
“Now what? I don’t want to put the baby at risk, but I can’t stay doing nothing for the rest of the pregnancy. I’m a spider-woman….”
“I know what you’re thinking” Miguel was being so patient. He was listening to you and never letting your hand go.
“Since we started trying… I’ve psyched myself that it could be dangerous. But it’s not gonna be the same. I’m not gonna lose any of you two. Because I know this is correct” Of course, he was afraid, but he committed to letting go of his past and focusing on this present with you. So he would not try to control it and you.
“You’re my lovely wife. I know you, and you’re a strong and perfect woman who will take care of our baby when I can’t be around….” you are shocked. You have to squeeze his hand to confirm you're not dreaming.
He sounds so peaceful, wearing white socks with a hoodie and pants. And he looks that perfect? You had to be dreaming.
“You are taking some weeks to recover from the ankle, the sprain, and one more check to see the baby. Then, low-impact missions, and in the last month, I have you in my office. What do you think?” you nod, smiling. Pushing yourself to sit and hug him and feel his big hands moving across your back.
“Thank you. We love you so much, Miguel…”
We. Oh, he would cry too.
“I love you two so much too. Completely… my whole world…”
“Yeah. No wonder why your plan sounds like you want to have me by your side for the next four months 24/7,” he smiles.
“Maybe that’s the idea…I want my little family with me all the time” You let yourself fall into the pillows again.
You lift your shirt and start poking your flat stomach. Miguel looks at you with curiosity.
“I can’t believe it’s almost six months old, we have a healthy baby, and I don’t have a bump.”
“Well, you look gorgeous as usual. Maybe there’s even a glow on you that I overlooked before”
“It’s my hair, right?”
“Could be…” both of you giggle.
But finally, there’s a time for a kiss. And it feels like bliss like his lips were everything to soothe the confusing thoughts, to feel happy and blessed for the child growing inside you.
His hands sneak through your exposed skin to gently stroke your stomach, hoping to connect with the baby.
He’s going to treasure this new opportunity. He had taken it the first time by marrying you, protecting you but never trying to control you. So he would follow the same recipe for this pregnancy.
From the love you two shared, passion always bloomed.
You felt amazing, so nothing would stop you from having your husband that night. So you started to tangle your fingers through his hair cause it never failed to tease him.
“God… we have to stop, bonita.”
“Why?” You ask with a pout, coming to hug his neck and giving him an annoyed look.
“The baby…”
“The baby has been fine since day one. Want to remember all the things we’ve done in the last five months?” you can swear he’s about to blush. So you giggle.
“You’re gonna be the death of me…” he complains.
But soon, you see his head disappear under the hem of your skirt.
Finally, you exhale with peace and tranquility.
…
Miguel fixes your suit from behind, his own suit already activated. He can hear your heavy breathing and feels slightly guilty because now, with the baby, your breathing could get hatred.
“See? Perfect as usual, mami…” he says, holding your hips, admiring you. He loved seeing his little wife waddling around the HQ with her cute belly and adorable smile. But having her in the HQ, making a moment only for him? It was a blessing.
“We spent at least an hour here; it’s gonna look obvious, Miguel,” you say, ignoring his comments. Your red cheeks, shiny skin, and curled hair could give you away.
Stupid pregnancy hormones.
Since your belly popped out in the seventh month, it felt like a prolonged fertile week that made you feel sexy and loved by your husband. As a result, extreme rounds of sex came like nothing most days.
“Honestly… I don’t care, hermosa,” he admits smiling. You roll your eyes, pinching his hand to annoy him.
“Sometimes you’re insufferable,” he smirks.
“You love me…” he attacks back, and you can’t help but blush like a little girl.
“Yeah, sometimes it scares me how much I do love you” The moment turns soft, as usual, between you and him.
Miguel turns into a giant heart marshmallow for you. All he can think is about how happy you make him.
“Can we have a date on Friday?” You ask with a cute and shy tone.
“Sure, mami. Where do you wanna go?” That fucking nickname. He meant it sweetly and adorably because, in his head, you were already a mommy. Still, he also says it in a hot way to proudly remember you he got you pregnant.
“The library and that new bakery near home” he would never say no to having a date with you. Never.
“You got me, bonita. I’m in the mood for a thriller book and some… What do you call those little cakes?” since you started dating, Miguel would pick one of your books to read together every night. The pastries only came to the scene on the weekends, though.
“Turkish pastries? Stop, I’m getting hungry. Oh, and I don’t mind another memoir, but yeah, I’m into the thriller book too,” he smiles, offering you another sweet smile. Thinking about how much he wants Friday to come and be out with you.
“I have to assign missions with Lyla. I’ll see you in my office. Okay?”
“Okay, amor,” the characteristic pull on his rib appears; he knows he must lean down and kiss you.
It’s slow, passionate, and delightful. His lips are soft despite all the times he had bitten himself with his sharp fangs. He was always so careful to avoid hurting you. He always avoided contact, but that didn’t stop him from playing with the skin of your neck in the most intimate moments.
“We love you…”
“Me too, bonita. I love you two with my whole heart….”
…
Your stomach was painfully churning. You were hungry, and your baby was asking for something too.
Maybe a burger with my husband’s mask printed on the bun. A side of fries with sweet and sour sauce; yeah, that’ll work, you think.
So you are peacefully sitting in the cafeteria. Waiting for Miguel to come back to the HQ and spent the rest of the day with him. Your mask is resting beside your phone and your web shooters.
It was crazy how the pregnancy made you both clingier than ever. His hands never leave your body, especially your belly. You don’t want to be separated from him for long periods. And even your family noticed how close you and Miguel were.
You asked where he went during a family gathering, only to find him drinking a beer with your father. And your aunts said you two were attached to hip… to the max.
“Hey, there’s my favorite spider-mama. Don’t tell Jess!” Peter appeared on your side with his kids; Hobie, Pavitr, Gwen, Miles, and Mayday.
“Hey, guys!” Mayday immediately went after you. Playing with your belly and softly poking at the roundness of it.
“Wow, your skin looks amazing!” Gwen flatters you, which causes a big blush on your face.
“Oh, thank you. I spent some time in the sauna today…” Miguel convinced you to try the least heated sauna room, saying it was good for your aching belly. However, it turned into a wild session of sex with at least an hour of duration. But your friends wouldn’t know that.
“How are you feeling?” Peter asked.
“Fine. You say maybe two more weeks or so…” you rub your belly along Mayday. Her beanie is dirty, and you promise her to clean it up before the day is over.
“I can’t believe you guys don’t know the sex of the baby…” Pavitr commented. You giggle, shrugging.
“I want it to be special. Especially for Miguel… you know his past,” they all nodded. They could see their boss apathetic as usual, barely glancing at them, ignoring their jokes, etc. But every employee of the Spider Society knew Miguel O’Hara had only one weakness; you.
And now that you were pregnant, it was impossible to not notice how Miguel tried to remain calm and be more patient about everything.
“I’m still a little hurt that I wasn’t the first to receive the news,” Peter B. Parker admitted, watching his daughter play with you.
“You left early that day!. You didn’t even know I was injured.”
“Yeah… and I called as soon as I learned the news” You pat his shoulder.
“Oh, Peter. You know you’re one of my best friends. And you’ll be my kid’s godfather,” his eyes sparkled. Everyone laughed at the comment, but Peter was pleased about it.
“I already got something for the kid…” Hobie announced.
“Aww, Hobie!… That’s so sweet, thanks!” their fondness towards you and your baby makes you want to tear up.
“Please, don’t give the child a set of piercings or the book of historic protests like you did with Mayday,” Pavitr prays, looking at his friend. Gwen was laughing so hard that it infected everyone.
However, Hobie had a little guitar full of excellent phrases and stickers he had collected over the months.
“It’s something better,” your punk friend promised.
You really liked spending time with them. It was like a second family that you could enjoy every day.
Then the conversation was all about Pavitr's upcoming big Indian party in Mumbattan. He invited everyone, and you promised to show up with Miguel and the baby.
Then you realized something. You really craved it, being a family of three.
…
A pink box was stuffed with Turkish pastries; 4 pieces of baklava, 2 of basbousa, and a slice of baklava cheesecake.
The sweet woman placed a green ribbon on top of the box, and you squealed out of happiness cause the ribbon matched the pistachio crumbles on the pastries.
“Thank you…” Miguel thanks the woman and follows you toward the exit.
The date was amazing, as usual. Hours spent between bookshelves, stolen kisses, and spending on four books to read in the following months.
“I can’t wait to eat this at home… my mouth is watering, amor,” he chuckled, admitting that these last few weeks, you looked even cuter with your bump and emotional attitude.
“Yeah, give me the box. Or else there won't be any cake left before we arrive home” Frowning, you hand him the box. The way to the parking lot is quiet.
But there’s a pair of big smiles on both of your faces.
The whole day you’ve felt tremendous pressure on your lower belly, nothing painful, but the feeling was weird. Only two weeks left, and then…poof!!, the baby was here.
A heavy noise disconcerted you. And when you looked to your left, Miguel had bumped himself with a lamppost.
Your heavy laughs are all it can be heard isn’t the parking lot after that.
“Stop laughing. I was taking care of you, not stumbling with the bags and your belly” he heard you let out a long oww before continuing to laugh. His spider sense was worse since he learned you were pregnant, always taking care of you. His eyes never leave you, alert in case of anything.
He’s annoyed but smiles at the sight of you being so happy.
Until…he noticed something on your pants. There was a big spot; it certainly looked like…
“Bonita…I think-I think you just….” As you follow his words, you look down to see why your pants and underwear feel drenched.
And once again, you’re laughing.
“Oh my god, Miguel. I think I just…” you peed on yourself for laughing so hard. You’re embarrassed, but still, you find the humor to find it funny. Miguel gets closer and takes the bags of books and your purse from your hands, finally laughing too.
“This is what happens when you make fun of your husband…” he opens the car door for you, and you only send him a lousy look before he keeps smiling. When you accommodate on the seat, your disgusted face worries Miguel. He leans to inspect you better.
“What? What is it, mi vida?” Your discomfort grows, and your hands travel to your lower belly. Seconds later, your eyes pop open in shock.
“Oh god. I don’t think it was pee after all…” you reveal, looking at your husband. His eyes also open in shock, and he starts breathing heavily.
He starts walking in little circles between the space of your car and the neighbor from the parking lot.
All he can think about is that a little human is trying to get out of you.
His life is about to change. All he ever wanted was going to be complete. He had to be strong for you and put his trauma away, like during the pregnancy.
“Okay. Does it hurts now?” He asks, returning to kneeling and looking you in the face.
You shake your head, not even knowing how you feel.
“Not really. I just feel like there’s something stuck inside me and-“
“And?” He urges you.
“And I want to push it out…” he nods, already feeling sweat on his forehead. He leans to kiss your forehead and hold your hands.
“Activate your suit, bonita. We need to go back to the HQ…”
“WHAT? NO… Just take me to a normal hospital, Miguel,” you say, trying to calm down.
“We can’t. Doctor Spider-man has been treating you since we found out. He’ll know better….”
“But…”
“Mami, you’ll have to deliver this baby soon. The best place to do it is in the HQ. You know it, right?” Slowly, you end up nodding.
He makes you look at your watch and activate your suit.
You don’t even feel when your soaked clothes are gone and you are in the suit's skin. You just feel like some beach ball was stuck inside your mouth, but everything happening on your cervix.
Miguel also activated his suit, including his mask. You shake your head at the sight.
“Oh no, fuck no. I'm not wearing the mask…” he sighs. Miguel is doing everything to not panic and not stress you. Even when he feels surprised you are handling the dilatation very well, he knows he can’t panic you too.
“Okay, don’t wear the mask. Can you stand up?…” you do your best, but it’s impossible to stand straight anymore. You must lean a little and open your legs to soothe the intense pressure on your pelvis.
“It’s okay, mami. We’ll be home with our baby in a blink of an eye.”
“Yeah, I don’t think so, Miguel” Your sarcasm signals him to hurry, so he opens a portal and helps you enter.
…
The room's wide window is like a living landscape, with the futuristic sight of cars and bright lights from skyscrapers.
There were no curtains because no one could see what was happening inside.
You were lying on the hospital bed that night, trying to push out a baby.
“I can’t do this…” you sob. It’s not even that painful (thankfully). The discomfort of the little human sliding out of you very slowly.
“Yes, you can. You are already done, bonita.” Miguel encourages you, which makes you roll your eyes.
“No. I mean-I can do this, just not on this bed…” your husband looks confused, but you ignore him to turn to Doctor Spider-man.
“You can try on your feet,” the doctor speaks through his mask. You nod, and with Miguel’s help, you end up on the edge of the bed; instantly, you feel the pressure of your baby slightly better.
You hear the doctor’s instructions, and even Miguel is in a position to help to catch the kid. You hold onto his broad shoulders to support yourself. Then, after three more big pushes, you feel it…the baby is out.
“We got it,” Miguel hears the doctor say, and a wave of soft cries instantly starts to echo across the room.
Desperation floods Miguel, who wants to see his baby and know everything is fine.
As the doctor cuts the cord and makes Miguel help you to lay on the bed again, he can’t stop kissing your forehead.
“Thank you, y/n. Thank you so much,” you nod, feeling tears in your eyes.
“Congratulations, it’s a girl,” officially, there are tears in your husband’s eyes. Doctor Spider leaves, saying he will come back with some papers and to help you.
He thinks Gabriella must’ve been very happy to have a little sister.
“Here you go…,” and everything is a comfortable silence once the baby is in your arms.
She’s tiny, with sun-kissed skin like his father, brown matted hair, and grey eyes that will eventually turn into chocolate like his father’s.
Her eyes are slightly open, she looks like she’s yawning, and her little tongue pokes out occasionally.
“Look, Miguel…” he leans to inspect his daughter closer.
He’s in love with her, and he’s beyond in love with you. He would always thank you for giving him a second chance to be a father.
“Oh, I’m in love again. She’s perfect, amor,” you sob, kissing the baby’s tiny head.
“I can’t believe this… I had nothing. Then I found you. And now…suddenly, we have a baby,” he confessed, caressing her rosy cheek.
“How do we name her?” He asks again.
“I want something related to her father’s name…”
“Are you sure, bonita?” You nod. After all, Miguel deserved it, and you wanted to do it for him.
“Yeah. Magalí, Marina, and Magdalena have been in my mind” his smile lights up with your last option, easily looking at her baby with that name.
“I like Magdalena…”
“Then… hello, baby Magda” you coo at your daughter, feeling her soft skin and plump cheeks.
“Your mommy and I love you so much, baby” Miguel’s hand comes to take yours, and together, you’re admiring your baby girl.
Doctor Spider enters after a knock on the door, holding a little binder.
“Okay, we’re cleaning her and healing you….” he announces. He adds that you’ll be fine in three weeks with a good recovery and that the baby was healthy. Miguel is so thankful and happy. He can barely hide his smile from his coworker.
“But before that… Lyla wants me to congratulate you two and ask if she can spread the news. Everyone is asking for this little family,” you smile. Spider plushie and Lego Spider-Man must be very worried and spider cat. You want to see your friends soon.
“No. We don’t want to share-“
“Miguel.” You scold him, give him a bad look, then look down at your daughter, smiling again.
“Yes, you can tell Lyla to share the news,” the AI appears before you. Her eyes open at the sight of the new addition of the HQ.
“Oh-great. And- OH MY GOD, SHE’S SO CUTE” Miguel instantly rolls his eyes, looking at Lyla moving in front of her tiny daughter and simulating touching her. There’s a little pink headband with a flower in Magdalena’s little head, which doubles how cute she looks.
“Thanks, Lyla…”
“Peter and Pavitr are on their way already. Probably the others will be joining us later” You nod once again. Feeling so welcomed and accepting that Miguel was right.
It was the best idea to give birth to your daughter in the HQ.
“Great. More visits!…” Miguel complains with a big load of sarcasm.
“Sorry…see ya later. ” with that, Lyla disappears.
“Ay, mami. You don’t know what you’ve done” Miguel can hear everyone talking about him and you and the baby. Having all his annoying coworkers asking questions and grabbing his daughter. However, he knows that will make you happy.
“Miguel, don’t be like that. This day is special… but we have our whole lives to have a family moment… just the three of us” he knows you’re right. So he sighs, letting a smile appear on your face.
“Right, yeah. You’re right…”
“I know. Now give me a kiss…” as his lips collide with yours, he takes baby Magda from your arms. She’s light as a feather, beautiful, and Miguel can’t think about ever putting her down in your arms again.
“I love you so much, hermosa. And that will never change…”
“Oh, Miguel. You and Magda are my full happiness now. I love you too.”
Miguel feels complete. He had his daughter in his arms; you on his lips.
And he hoped to treasure that feeling… forever.
