Anyway, I know that Grover is 12 physically, but he's the best representation of someone in their 20s; anxious, trying to do things and to get others' shit together. Can someone give him a raise? And a snack? He really needs that
Honestly, I'm very curious about the next episodes. I'm sure they have done a really good job. There are a few things that bugs me, like the relationship between Sally and Gabe (that should have been more difficult if not abusive, here he seems just a lazy and dirty guy) but maybe we'll see more, I hope.
The only thing that I really hope for is they don't change other characters' storylines, like Bianca and Nico. The "D'Angelo" place that Sally talks about could be just like an easter egg for us to notice, and I'm very happy for it, but I wish it stays like this.
I mean, don't get me wrong, if they make them Italian-American, I will be a little disappointed, but I will trust Rick and his decisions. But I still think that the tragedies of the Di Angelo siblings stem from the time and place they were born and grown in.
These are little things, obviously. But this family is just my favourite, and I have so many headcannons about them
The thing is that when Percy finds out that he can make offerings to talk to someone he misses, he tries to call his mother. Not any gods, not his father, but Sally.
He just wanted to talk to his mum once again, and he promised to make her proud and to find his father.
I'm sorry, I'm going to cry in my room
Annabeth’s got a plan. Percy’s on it. When it’s time, he’s gonna be ready. I know it.
Percy "I am SALLY JACKSON'S son" Jackson
percy "i am impertinent" jackson
This is the man who is going to fight a god AND WIN
He’s gonna commit so many crimes
thinking about how percy was SEETHING with anger as soon as ares mentioned his mom. and later luke was INSTANTLY angry and attacked percy when he mentioned his dad. both are angry when their parents are mentioned but for such different reasons… and how that is the crux of their characters… percy fights because of his loved ones, in defense of them, to protect them. he lets his anger fuel him to do good, to try and make the world a better place. luke fights because of his anger and resentment towards the gods, even if his choices will hurt his loved ones. he lets his anger fuel him to go down the wrong path, lets it take over and leave rational thinking behind. yeah
literally dam(n) the gods.
percy and annabeth heal each other btw,
annabeth being disconnected from the human world and helping percy with the mythical one.
VS
percy helping annabeth reconnect with her humanity because that's what he's known most his life.
She’s going to betray you. Sooner or later, people like her, they always do. I don’t think she’s like that.
PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS 1.03 – "We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium"
percy "i am impertinent" jackson
clarisse's actress is beautiful and while i do wish she was butch or more masc presenting, in some ways i actually like this better for her overall characterization because it brings more validity to the fact that she desperately wants her fathers love but she is not her father's son and so she'll never be enough for him, because she's not big and strong looking or gruff, she is everything she hates.
Like yes, im sorta sad she wasn't cast plus size and masc like how she was coded in the books. But having her be the antithesis of what Ares would value makes her being a bully and so angry and so desperate to prove herself that much more compelling
Listen... Percy. I'm sorry.
PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS 1.02 "I Become Supreme Lord Of The Bathroom"
percy saying "i'm sally jackson's son!" is so........ it squeezes my heart so much. and i get it i get it. imagine your father neglecting you, his son your whole life and going to a camp that he wants to you to go to, being told he's a god, being told everyone in that camp is a demi-god -- and all of those children barely get to talk OR EVEN MEET their parental figure. how do you, how do you, how do you not break down. he's so strong
percy making a burnt offering for his mother. clarisse screaming in anguish as percy destroys the only thing her father gave her. annabeth putting on her cap, and saying "a gift from my mom." luke having that hateful lilt in his voice when he said that hermes was his father. chris rodriguez's little "they like the smell of begging." when percy asks about the burnt offerings they have to make for the gods. i am unwell.
FUCK. You know what hits hard. Luke being the first words of comfort Percy hears at camp. Sure, Chiron was with him and led him around camp, but their conversation felt more like losing hope for Percy. And then he get to Hermes' cabin and he is so ready for a fight, but instead he gets a warm welcome from Luke. AND THAT FUCKING HURTS OK.
