Hello Tumblr and Dsmp people!!! I'm hoping you guys are well even during this suddenly startling discourse, I've spent a while doing as much research on this as I can and I've decided to do a bit of an info booth on the topic. If you have any questions after reading all of this go ahead and ask!!!(this is not ment to hurt ANYONE'S feelings I'm simply trying to piece together this puzzle for other people, I do not support ANY of dreams actions going forward and to people who support him that's your opinion)

Okay to start let's go with the main started of this whole 3 hour long stream drama. A little while ago on dreams Twitter he posted a meme, this meme was in no way funny and was extremely rude and insensitive.

This meme was pointed as you can tell directly at tommy fans, he got angry at peoples rights to an opinion an post this cruel meme, he also tweeted this>>>>

Which makes no sense with his tweet being still up and seeming to have 'no other options' dream started his stream. The stream was long and hard to actually digest so ill break down some main points,

Dream began to speak about his falling out with tommy and how he felt so betrayed because he had basically 'made the kid popular', he proceeded to take credit for all of Tommy's fame, and while he had helped bring Tommy's channel up in the world it's totally unfair to claim it was all his work, he even pulled up old videos of tommy praising him which was weird on its own. He talk for a long while about how all tommy did was lie and how he 'hoped' they could rekindle they're friendship after tommy had said many times that he was interested and didn't really want to keep in contact with him, he also brought up the video tommy had made recently about how YouTube had really been declining his mental health and he's trying to balance his life and his online appearances, dream claimed it was all for attention. At this point dream had rambled for a while about random not okay and genuinely really not an apology for what he had done when he began to talk about Tommy, Tubbo, and Aimsey. He spoke about how tubbo was basically Tommy's slave and how he did whatever tommy wanted without the blink of an eye saying that tubbo is still his friend and he doesn't blame him saying it's Tommy's fault, which tubbo had come out and spoke of a few incidence that made him disconnect his friendship with dream that I'll talk about later. He suddenly dragged aimsey into this saying THEY where the mastermind and also always lies just because THEY are a bad person, dream so happened to misgender aimsey every single time as he spoke of them. This is where I'm gonna kind break off from what dream has said and move in to people reactions and things that have been brought to the light,

Tubbo reacted to dream stream and brought up a lot of topics such as for one he doesn't want to only be referred to as Tommy's best friend as dream did almost constantly saying he's more than just that he's a person who's fully involved in this scenario. He also brought to light one reason (which he had mentioned before this) he stopped being dreams friend, during his and Tommy's time on the dream smp they where both in a discord server with dream and a few of his friends, in this server they happened to be send inappropriate messages to each other, that weren't suitable or allowed by the minors requests, dream did nothing to stop the large amount of p0rn being sent in the group discord even while it had been requested of him multiple times from both tommy an tubbo however dream claimed that tubbo had asked him to treat him equally and like an adult which tubbo later denyed and even if he had, he was a minor who could not make that choice for himself and dream shouldnt have done it anyway, this situation also relates to the George and Caiti drama(I don't know to much about this but I've done some research) so basically George had gropped Caiti and dream quickly helped both cover it up and chase Caiti off the internet, tommy had been helpful in this situation trying to figure out what had gone on and had been supportive to Caiti. Again I don't know to much about thag one bit enough to involve it. Anyway the other streamer dream had gone after was quackity for one over the large amount of backlash dream had gotten from the dream smp idea being seen as stolen by quackities qsmp, this isn't quite the most sure subjects because dream claims he was making the idea before the qsmp had even been announced, who knows for that one. But he also threw a ton of shade towards quackity and tommy for simply supporting they're own merchandise, in response quackity started a stream not long after, opened it said hi and announced his game show before he left it at that(go king). Another thing tommy talked on his own video(that only needed to be 8 minutes mind you) that dream had been talking to his mom through her dms telling her tommy was a terrible person and basically just trying to make a wdge between them. Dream also rambled on for a while about how he was infact a trumpee, which is fully his opinion, however it wasn't apart of the streams point soooo... He spent a total of almost three hours rambling excuses after excuses for any of his actions blaming many people in the end a lot of his friends who had seen the video have rather joined Tommy and tubbo by simply hoping to cut contact or claming they don't support anything dream was doing.(if you guys want more info message me, and again I have the right to my opinion you have the right to your's this is just what I've found and wanted to make sure to share)

It still frustrates me to this day that there are people on the Internet who will waste their time staring at a screen and laughing with their troll buddies about how “cringey” autistic people are, just for existing and talking about our experiences.

They take one look at autism blogs like mine, and their minds just go “lol autism funny XD lol r slur XD send death threats hahaha funny meme XDDD”. Because they’re ignorant and closed-minded about autism, and refuse to even try to see autism in the way we do.

Instead, they see us living our lives in our own, neurodivergent way, and think “they’re not like my stereotype, so they must be fakers, they think they’re so special and quirky, let’s troll them and send them threats”.

It’s obvious that these people have no personality other than “Internet troll” and “finds fun in harassing disabled people”.

You know who you are.

you can’t disconnect words like “moron”, “idiot”, and “dumb” from their original meanings. they are ableist words. and continuing to use them in a derogatory fashion is ableist. 

calling someone a “moron” is comparing them to someone who is disabled, usually someone with an intellectual or learning disability. so if that’s used in a derogatory way, you are saying that the disabled person is worthless, or whatever other word you would use instead of “moron”. even if the person you’re directing the word to is abled themselves. 

comparing abled people to disabled people as a joke, or as a method of bullying is ableist. end of. 

The r slur is a nasty, nasty word and I do not understand how so many otherwise progressive people hurl it around like confetti. A lot of yall have zero solidarity with those who are intellectually disabled. You are not ""reclaiming"" it when you use it to insult someone. Be real, you just wanna use it cuz it gives you a little surge of catharsis whenever you are Big Mad. Fuck you.

My take on people reclaiming the r slur, as someone with cognitive and developmental disabilities. Warning, I will be referring to a racial slur in this post. It will be censored.

The r slur means slow. It is made specifically to mock "slow" people like me, people with a specific group of disabilities that impair us in a very specific way. Unless you are someone who is slow, that word does not apply to you and your cannot reclaim it. Honestly, even I hesitate to say it because while I have one of those specific disabilities, I am not intellectually disabled and so my ability to use that slur, to me, is not promised and I do not want to offend.

"Who are you to tell me I can't reclaim a slur used on me?"

Okay, so here's the thing. I'm Irish. Back in the day, racists used to call the Irish white n-words. That slur has been used against the Irish just as the r slur has been used against you. For the Irish, people hurled the meanest thing they could think of at us, and to them, comparing us to Black people was the worst thing they could possibly do. Similarly, ableists have referred to you as the r slur because they think that comparing you to people with intellectual disability is the worst possible insult they can hurl in your direction. Are you following?

Do the Irish have the right to reclaim the n-word just because it was used against us to "insult" us by comparing us to Black people? No, of course not. Because even though that word was used against us, it's a slur against Black people. Irish people who aren't Black don't get to reclaim that slur. Only Black people can reclaim it.

Similarly, if a straight man who was just a bit too queer-looking is bullied and called the f slur, because comparing him to gay people is the worst insult his bullies can think of, does he have the right to reclaim the f slur? No. The slur doesn't apply to him. It's been hurled in his direction but at the end of the day, he isn't gay. Just like the Irish aren't Black, and you are not intellectually disabled.

The r slur was made specifically to target people with intellectual disability. Outside of people with intellectual disability, there are very few groups to whom that word applies.

You can't reclaim a slur that doesn't apply to you. Even if it was used against you, there's a difference between being insulted by being compared to someone like me and actually having that word hurled at you because you are like me. I'm sorry people were ableist to you, but that's not your slur to reclaim. There are ones that apply to you. Ableists were very thorough. Please reclaim one that applies to you.
