This is one of the most bad faith takes I've seen on this, and I've seen some pretty bad ones.

I'm not going to argue on this. I mean, that whole post is about how there really is no more arguing to be done here, you either value people's lives or you value personal entertainment. You've gone for the latter. You just don't want to admit it so you spew out this garbage to justify it to yourself.

If you want to play the game, just play the stupid game. It's not like anyone is going to physically stop you. But for goodness sake, shut up about it. You're all just making yourselves look even worse.

BTW your transmedicalism and antisemitism are showing. Thought you might want to know

People keep searching for ways to argue that JK Rowling has always been a horrible person deep down as a way of explaining her recent behaviour.

But here’s the thing: that’s probably not true at all.

Pretending it is discounts the harsher, scarier truth: that even decent, well-meaning people can be radicalised by dangerous, hateful, predatory groups, and given enough time they can become truly hideous versions of their former selves.

It can happen to me. It can happen to you. It can happen to any of us, given the right mix of circumstances. And over the past few years, we’ve seen it happen to one of the most famous children’s authors of our age.

Nobody is immune.

remember kids the answer to the question "why do trans people always target WOMEN & WOMENS things?" is "because its what cis people care about"

if you want to demonize a group, make them Scary (oft masculinized) Predators who are Coming For Innocent Women (objects to be protected). the "trans issue" crops up where cis people MAKE it an issue.

"men's healthcare" is an exclusionary term for healthcare needed by a lot of people. "father" should not be our only term for people who can impregnate others. but its so much easier to rally the troops to protect the weak, innocent, defenseless property, so thats where the money is.

oh also: this applies to stuff like "why are there no BI GAYS?" which is based in the same logic. there ARE and have always been bisexual gay men, and there continue to be. the only reason you have only heard about bi lesbians is because gay men's spaces just are not as defensive about Invaders To The Identity, even if that prejudice still exists on some level sometimes. this is such an annoying thing to hear because its said like some intelligent statement and its just biased information

The most telling part is that trans people can’t even defend their ideology without resorting to repetitive slogans. I mean, come on—this is the identity you claim you'd die for, remember? “Death before detransition,” and all that. But then again, it’s probably easier to die for it than to actually defend it, because—newsflash—trans ideology doesn’t really hold up under debate or scientific scrutiny.

Transphobia

Transphobia is runni rampant more then ever in the WLW especially lesbian community and its so frustrating to go on a pro trans women post to show support as an enbie to find Terfs in there saying that Terf is a compliment and that they have such a superiority complex that they think its a compliment that I hate them for being pro violating human rights and harassment. So just remember genital preference may not be trans but you invalidating trans women and saying its offensive that saphic trans girls havw hit on you is transphobic. Just a friendly reminder your transphobia is not cute. Its not quirky. Its repulsive and volatile.

Well then I guess according to you Im dense because I don't understand why it is confusing that I want it to be known my account is a safe space when reblogging a post made by a terf. Maybe Im just not far down the rabbit hole cause I have no idea why I would get cancelled for that or why you feel the need to point it out. I wouldn't say I'm confused but I do find it questionable that you feel the need to point this out or call me dense, while I won't argue with that, I don't understand why it matters to you.

Basically, some honesty behind your intentions would be nice. Even though I can guess and assume it comes from you wanting to pick a fight, I'd like to start trying to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Women are instilled from an early age with a deep shame regarding our female anatomy.

We're told our genitals smell like fish, that "roast beef curtains," are hilarious and a sign that a woman is a sl*t, that our natural pubic hair is offensive. That periods are disgusting and shameful, and should be kept secret. We aren't even properly taught about our own anatomy- a lot of women don't know until later in life that the vulva and vagina are separate, and that the urethra is not the same opening as the vaginal opening.

There's hardly any research into female-specific medical conditions. Nearly 10% (1 in 10) women are afflicted with endometriosis, yet there's literally no research on what causes it. PCOS is also under-researched. It's all shoved under the rug, too stigmatised to be discussed.

While boys can talk freely about their dick and balls, the words "vagina" or "vulva," are still treated like a humiliating joke at best, and a vulgar obscenity at worst.

Men talk with pride about their genitals. To "grow a set" = to start acting tough and assertive. To "have big balls" = to be brave. "Big dick energy" = to be a charismatic "alpha" that commands attention.

Meanwhile, there are no positive cultural connotations regarding the vulva/vagina. Even "serving cunt" is used as a tongue-in-cheek memetic joke.

I think it's very predatory that shame, disgust and aversion about having a vagina/vulva is marketed as a sign that a girl/woman is dysphoric. That it should just be censored and called a "front hole" or a "bonus hole," to avoid the stigma. It's a cultural by-product of the crushing misogyny imbedded into society.

MOST women grow up feeling shame about having a vulva/vagina, and have to put conscious effort into unlearning that shame.

Preach!! I'd add harassment to this as well though. Nobody deserves to be harassed.

Female cops don't deserve rape

Tradwifes don't deserve rape

Conservative women don't deserve rape

Fascist women don't deserve rape

""Terfs"" do not deserve rape

MRA women don't deserve rape

Disagreeable women in general do not deserve rape

No woman no matter her shitty ideology deserves to be sexually abused

Once it's okay to excuse rape based on ideology sooner or later you'll meet someone who doesn't agree with you.

Radfems and terfs will get so incredibly weird when you talk about trans people. I have had a radfem get very angry about me saying I support trans women and start talking to me about trans women in prison raping other prisoners, like that’s an insane leap. We weren’t even talking about prisons at all. And first of all, that’s a bad thing to happen, everyone can agree. Rape is horrific under any possible circumstance. And I haven’t done any research on that exact topic, I am not an expert, I don’t know of any specific examples but that doesn’t actually matter. Gender isn’t a factor in the level of ‘badness’ of assault, it’s equally bad. This hypothetical rapist trans woman or even real rapist trans women has literally nothing to do with the validity of all trans women. Rapists in prison shouldn’t be allowed to be in situations where they can rape anyone. The prison system is flawed! I don’t have a solution! I am a random person with opinions! My opinion is very simple, rape is evil, rapists should be kept away from victims. And that opinion has nothing at all to do with my opinion that trans women are women.

This is not a well formulated thoughtfully crafted post, this is an annoyed rambling mess.

Some redditors: the reddit hivemind will downvote you if you don't have the same opinions. This is oppression.

Also those exact same ones: trans aren't real. gay is a sin. it's harder come out as republican than gay. What is asexual? Aren't those just incels?

On a more real note, I honestly don't see how people get upset over fake internet points. You upvote stuff you like and you downvote stuff you don't. That's how it works. Don't get mad if the majority downvotes your terf ass.

Recommendation!!

Okay so I read this book and I recommend to do the same if you are radfem/gender critical/gender abolitionist. Basically it’s about Autism and gender identity. As autistic folk, while reading this book I felt that I’m not alone, I felt finally seen. It also focus on other disorders that autistics can have while still the main topic is gender identity and struggles to find yourself in gender obsessed society. I genuinely recommend to read it even autistic trans people as it can help with understanding yourself more. It’s sad to see other people having the same problem/s as you not so long ago. Wish you all better future and capability to understand yourself more

Please shut your ass up. First of all,TERFS were never about love and acceptance (they don’t accept trans women as real women lol), so you can stop harping over there. A black trans women led a stonewall riot for the LGBT community.

Now do the rest of Tumblr a favor, and log off

Marshmallowfury

To break down this whole situation on marshmallowfury, she did nothing truly wrong. What she did “wrong” was go against one of the most popular opinions in the LGBT+ community. Here, let me say it again. You’re all yelling about a popular OPINION. The LGBT+ community was built on love, acceptance and equality. So to see people who are a part of that community tell someone to die for their beliefs, but get mad when someone else does it? It really shows me that the community is tainted and toxic. “She’s making money off of the LGBT+ community and the people in it!” Ok, well. You can make money off of anything, really, your point? She’s not directly marketing for the LGBT+ community, so that accusation is incredibly stupid. Now while I don’t agree that letting every trans woman into the bathroom will result in rape, there is clear evidence it has occurred, but this is not putting all trans women on the spot. Let me repeat, THIS IS NOT PUTTING ALL TRANS WOMEN ON THE SPOT. Rape can occur regardless, and your identity has nothing to do with it, your overall character does. You have the right to be who you are and you have the right to express it in any way you want to, but that won’t stop someone from having their opinions about you, and or, what you stand for. It also won’t stop a law that keeps you out of said bathroom, and an expressed opinion over your identity won’t and CAN’T stop you from being who you are. To be very clear, I can see points from both sides of this argument. I don’t solely support either side, but I don’t believe in or support all of the hate that is getting shoved in Marsh’s face. There is saying a fact, that being that trans women were not born women, and then there is respecting what someone wants to be called, and or, known as. To which she has every right to not do that. She does not have to respect you if you’re not respecting her. If she went around to to a bunch of trans women’s blogs, or support blogs, and sent direct hate, then I could understand the argument, but she hasn’t. She has kept it to herself until you all went and graciously “exposed” her. For every attempt she’s tried at an apology, or to try and be genuine, she has received hate, so I don’t blame her for feeling frustrated. And to also add, one of my best friends is trans. He has also stated that there’s nothing wrong with pointing out that someone wasn’t born with the gender they identify as. It’s not hate to say that, it’s fact. And to also make something very clear, a lesbian not wanting to sleep with a trans woman is not transphobic. The person could be transphobic, but just because they don’t want to sleep with someone who isn’t a biological female does NOT, by ANY means, make them transphobic. Being a lesbian means exactly that. Liking girls. They have a term for what you’re accusing her and other lesbians for. It’s called being Pansexual which means you like all genders and everything far and in between. But to be lesbian means you like women that are biological females unless the person states otherwise. It would be a direct lie if someone asked you if you were male or female biologically speaking and you said the opposite of what you were born with. Much like what you’re also saying with how you’d had “trust” in Marsh, someone can also trust in you to tell them the truth about yourself before they proceed to do anything with you. I would feel deeply lied to if I had asked someone what their biological sex was and they had stated that they were female, and or, male, but clearly weren’t. You can tell someone, very clearly, “I am not biologically female, but I do identify as a woman.” It’s really that simple and it clears up a lot. The whole “Lesbians who don’t want to sleep with trans women is transphobic.” Is the same concept as dating someone who identifies as bisexual, or bi-curious, and the person realizes they are straight, and or, lesbian/gay. You feel as if it’s unfair because you love them and want them to accept you, but your identity won’t make up for their comfort. And if they aren’t comfortable with you and your identity, then it’s time to move on. Just because they don’t want to sleep with or date you, doesn’t mean they hate you. You don’t try to force your identity on people. It won’t work. You move on and find people who will accept you. And I’ll say this, just because you think someone is being an asshole, going OUT OF YOUR WAY to be an asshole back and bash them, doesn’t justify shit and it doesn’t make you a better person.

You know what? No. No, Hatsune Miku did not write Harry Potter.

J. K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter. And we need to accept that.

Harry Potter isn’t some pure unproblematic beacon of perfection that we can just choose to erase the scummy author from and enjoy without guilt. Harry Potter is very much rooted in Rowling’s view of the world. The blatant antisemitism in the portrayal of the goblins, the entire race of slave creatures that actually really like being slaves and Hermione’s attempts to free them are largely played off as a joke, the almost complete dearth of canon characters of color (and then when she does put canonical characters of color in, they’re… Nagini…), the complete lack of respect for other cultures (the Japanese wizarding school literally translates to “Magic Place” in Japanese, Cho Chang is not even remotely a proper Chinese name, don’t get me started on her usage of Native American folklore), the almost complete lack of LGBTQ+ characters, the “Dumbledore is gay!” baiting, the lycanthropy-as-HIV metaphor that involves one of the werewolves intentionally infecting as many people as he can, with a preference for targeting children, no less…

These are all very much present in Harry Potter. They’re not things you can just ignore. And they’re there because Rowling wrote them in.

I know you read Harry Potter as a kid and loved it. I know when you read Harry Potter as a kid you probably didn’t even notice how shitty all this stuff was. I certainly didn’t. But you can’t go back to that time. You can’t go back to when you were 10, when you were consuming this media and loving it uncritically without notice or regard for its more problematic elements. You can’t go back to being a kid again.

And that’s okay. It doesn’t mean you’re required to wholeheartedly condemn this important part of your childhood. You can still enjoy these books while acknowledging that they’ve got some really shitty things in them. You can enjoy Harry Potter as a mature adult. You don’t have to be a kid again to like it. And you’re perfectly allowed to hate on Rowling for her shittiness, past and present, while still loving Harry Potter.

So don’t say Harry Potter was written by Hatsune Miku. It wasn’t. It was written by J. K. Rowling, warts and all.

it honestly baffles me that Transphobes or general anti-LGBT will be pro Israel anti-hamas... it makes no sense, and as glad as I am people support Israel it confuses me... all the people who hate me stand for a place I could be safe. yet all the people who should love me stand for a place we would be killed... we live in a mad world... it makes me feel so lost... I don't want transphobes to have my back in one way and then not in another... because I'm scared of transphobes for how they see me and treat me and how much trauma they've caused... but I'm also scared of my own community for playing into their hands and giving them a valid reason to think we're insane when before they had none... I don't know what to do... I feel like as soon as the world moves on from the war the transphobes will just turn on me as they always have... so I find it hard to accept they support Israel and hate Hamas...
