Idk how to introduce this pitch properly, but look at what I've gathered:
Abed - Sherlock
Troy - John
Annie - Mariana
I bet the Sherlock & Co. trio would watch Community on TV nights and I can imagine Troy and Abed listening to Sherlock & Co. and eventually getting Annie into it too for the bit because they want her to know she's their Mariana🧍
This developed from me thinking about how Troy and Abed would dress up as John and Sherlock for Halloween and today I got hit with the connection between Mariana and Annie
Although John is the more "media-reference-y" one, but Sherlock and Abed are both canonically autistic and the way their dynamics work here and also in some other situations/the way they work themselves makes more sense that way I think

Community movie should have the group confronting the pirates and one of them says Abed's name the way Piss used to say it and he's just suddenly like that's not my fucking name and knocks the guy out and then there's this big action sequence where they all fight the pirates and then afterwards Troy and Abed just wordlessly run to each other and kiss. hypothetically, what if we invited our spanish study group to our newly bought apartment that we both share and while they’re over there’s a knock at the door and it’s the pizza delivery guy and we can’t decide who should go let him in so we roll a dice and one of the sides makes you leave to get the pizza and it lands us in the darkest timeline and our friends all get traumatized and you lose your larynx from attempting to eat a flaming troll doll but it’s okay because we’re still best friends despite it all and we wear felt goatees together?

"You don't like people who tell you what to do and I don't want to be one of those people" "No one gets Abed, I got him a little", that sad but restrained little nod at the comment about a long history of being locked inside things. The quiet understanding and respect Troy gives to Abed's experience with alienation and mistreatment. Restraining his natural state of wanting to give ALL the affection, because he knows Abed can't always handle that, because he knows Abed is straining himself just as hard to actively show affection in a way that makes sense to others. That they're close enough to accept the gaps in understanding, that even if he can't give all of himself he's still enough.
Troy and Abed are like crazy tho from an outsiders perspective tho like… can you imagine your high school quarterback, star player, most popular guy in school, goes to college, and within 5 months becomes attached at the hip with the weird kid who’s dad owned the local falafel stand.
And his entire attitude toward said weird kid is “this is the specialest boy ever. He likes movies and he’s my bestest friend ever and if anyone says anything mean about or to him I’ll beat the shit out of them.”

Look if Dan Harmon's movie interpretation of my friends' lives censors their beautiful relationship it's just because he wasn't invited to the wedding and he's bitter about it okay but I was there I watched Troy and Abed get married l proofread their vows in fact and gently suggested that Abed cut his down a little so they wouldn't take hours
never seen these outtakes before today but they are GOLDEN and i am obsessed
Love that in horror fiction in seven spooky steps at that point in the episode every story had a romantic interest and it’s Troys turn and his story his him bridal style carrying Abed into the cabin after he presumably saved his life. Then they get sewn together so that they will be together forever and get to have telepathy. It’s so obvious how much Troy loves Abed. He even supports Abed’s story and Abed supports his.
