ES || Hoy es mi cumpleaños!! Muchas felicidades a todos los que hacéis los años el mismo día que yo, y a los que no, feliz no cumpleaños! He de decir que a mí me pirra el chocolate negro en todas sus versiones, ya sea en galletas, magdalenas y, por supuesto un buen pastel (siempre con poco azúcar, que no me apasiona el dulce). A mí me dais este pastel sin el frosting y soy más feliz que una perdiz. Aunque ahora mismo yo no puedo comer muchos dulces espero que este ratoncito se pegue un buen festín y sople todas la velas! Sabéis de dónde viene la tradición de soplar las velas? Pues hay varias teorías de su origen pero a mí la que más me gusta es la de antigua Grecia, donde era costumbre llevar al  templo de Artemisa, la diosa de la luna, unas tortas redondas, que simbolizaban el circulo lunar completo, con una vela encendida que representaba el resplandor de la luna. Después esta vela se soplaba para que el humo llevara a los dioses el deseo pedido. Esta tradición de pedir un deseo para celebrar el día que vinimos al mundo me encanta. Espero que todos vuestros deseos, por muy imposibles que parezcan, se cumplan!

EN || Happy birthday to me!! Best wishes to those of you who also celebrate your birthday today, and to those who don't, a very merry unbirthday to you! I love dark chocolate, in all its versions, whether it’s cookies, muffins or of course a good cake (always with less sugar than usual, I’m not really into sweet things). Give me this cake without the frosting and I'm the happiest person in the world. Although right now I can't eat sweets, I hope this little mouse has a good feast and blows out all the candles! Do you know where the tradition of blowing out the candles comes from? Well, there are several theories about its origin, but the one I like the most is the ancient Greece one, where it was a tradition to bring round cakes to the temple of Artemis (the goddess of the moon). That symbolized the complete lunar circle, the cake had a lighted candle that represented the glow of the moon. This candle would later be blown so the smoke would take the person’s wish to the gods. I love this tradition of making a wish to celebrate the day we came into the world. I hope that all your wishes, as impossible they may seem, come true!

Summer☀️ has many good things, but there’s one that surely no one misses: the rise of mosquitoes 🦟 with their threatening noise at night and their sneaky bites. So far this summer I’ve been lucky and I haven’t had the kind of giant sting that swells, turns red and hot and stings a lot, but other years I have not had the same luck and researching the plants, their properties and different natural remedies, I discovered this natural poultice for these occasions.🌱 

The recipe is very easy, you just need to crush and mix the following ingredients (better if they’re organically grown!):

🔹Oat flakes crushed or powder oat, since oat is very effective against skin inflammation. 🔹Chamomile infusion because chamomile has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. 🔹Fresh basil, which contains eugenol, a compound that helps fight itching and pain. 🔹Fresh rosemary, in addition to having similar properties to basil, is a natural antiseptic.

Once the mixture is made, we just have to put it to cool in the fridge so it can give us the cold effect that will also help with the swelling and it’ll be ready to apply to the affected area.

If you don’t see any improvement, or it looks bad or you’ve an allergic reaction go quickly to the doctor!

ES|| Como ya sabréis me encantan los animales y los perros no son una excepción. Hace unos años tuve el placer de convivir con una hermosa greyhound blanca como la nieve con topitos negros en las orejas y ahora son “tía” de un precioso galgo atigrado, así que tengo especial cariño a estas preciosas criaturas de nariz larga y ojitos tiernos. Hoy es el día del galgo porque, aunque estos perros necesitan nuestra ayuda todos los días del año, cada año por estas fechas en España, al finalizar la temporada de caza, después de probablemente años de crueldad, miedo y malos tratos, se abandonan, torturan y/o matan miles de galgos que ya no son considerados como útiles para cazar. Los animales no son propiedades para comprar, usar y tirar, ni herramientas para ganar dinero con el negocio que es la caza. Si estás pensando en compartir tu vida y tu amor con un peludo, adopta, no compres ni seas cómplice. 🌱

EN|| As you may already know I love animals, and dogs are no exception. Some years ago, I had the pleasure of sharing my home with a beautiful white greyhound with black spots in her ears, and now I’m an “aunt” to a gorgeous tabby galgo, so I’m especially fond of these precious creatures with long noses and sweet eyes. Today is world galgo day because, although galgos need our help all year long, every year around these days in Spain, when the hunting season ends, after probably years of cruelty, fear and mistreatments, thousands of galgos deemed no apt to continue hunting are abandoned, tortures and/or killed. Animals are not proprieties we can buy, use and throw away nor either are tools to gain money with the business that is hunting. If you are thinking of sharing your life and your love with an animal, adopt, do not buy or be an accomplice.🌱

CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL (2019)

ESP ||Des de pequeñita he sido una enamorada de la naturaleza y por este motivo la lucha contra el cambio climático es muy importante para mi. "El cambio climático es real" es un proyecto para crear conciencia sobre la lamentable situación que estamos generando en el Ártico.El incremento del efecto invernadero, debido a nuestras emisiones de gases, genera repercusiones catastróficas como el aumento de la temperatura global de la Tierra y de los océanos, la reducción de las capas de hielo en los glaciares de todo el mundo, incluyendo los Alpes, Alaska, el Himalaya, etc., la reducción de la nieve de primavera en todo el hemisferio norte, el aumento del nivel del mar y la disminución de hielo marino del Ártico el cual se forma cada vez más tarde en otoño y se deshace más pronto en primavera. Sólo en los últimos 30 años se han perdido tres cuartas partes de la capa flotante de hielo del Ártico, la casa de los osos polares entre otros animales.La población de osos polares se estima entre 22.000 y 31.000 ejemplares en todo el mundo, lo que la califica de especie vulnerable. Este descenso de la población se debe, principalmente, a su dependencia del hielo marino del Ártico para viajar, aparearse, descansar y sobre todo para alimentarse, ya que su dieta está formada de otros animales que habitan sobre las grandes masas de hielo, como las focas. Sólo los osos polares que tienen acceso continuo al hielo marino tienen la opción de cazar durante todo el año, los que viven en zonas donde se hielo se deshace completamente en verano se ven obligados a pasar varios meses en pequeñas superficies terrestres donde la dificultad para conseguir alimentos los arrastra a una situación sumamente crítica. Esta ilustración está realizada en técnica mixta, ya que los osos están realizados uno a uno en acuarela y tinta negra, el iceberg es un dibujo a lápiz modificado digitalmente y los fondos son una base de gouache. Finalmente para los toques de color del iceberg he usado lápices de colores. ENG ||Hi!! "Climate change is real" is a project to create awareness about the deplorable situation we are generating in the Arctic.The increased greenhouse effect due to our gas emissions generates catastrophic repercussions like the increase in the global temperature of the Earth and oceans, the retreating of glaciers almost everywhere around the world, including the Alps, Alaska, the Himalayas, etc., the decrease of spring snow throughout the northern hemisphere, the rise of the sea level and the declining of Arctic sea ice, which is formed each time later in the fall and melts sooner in the spring. Only in the last 30 years three quarters of the Arctic sea ice has been lost.The population of polar bears is estimated to be between 22,000 and 31,000 specimens worldwide, which describes it as a vulnerable species. This decline of the population is mainly due to its heavily dependence on the sea ice environment for traveling, mating, resting and above all to feed itself, since its diet is made up mainly of other sea ice-dependent animals, such as seals. Only polar bears that have continuous access to sea ice have the option of hunting all year. CAT || Hola !! Al cap d'uns anys sense cap entrada, us presento una de les últimes il·lustracions que he realitzat. Des de petita, he estat enamorada de la naturalesa i per aquest motiu la lluita contra el canvi climàtic és un tema molt important per a mi. "El canvi climàtic és real" és un projecte per crear consciència sobre la deplorable situació que estem generant a l'Àrtic.L’increment de l’efecte hivernacle, degut a les nostres emissions de gasos, genera repercussions catastròfiques com l’augment de la temperatura global de la Terra i dels oceans, ja que aquests intenten absorbir molt de l’increment de calor, la reducció de les capes de gel als glaciars de tot el mon, incloent els Alps, Alaska, l’Himàlaia, etc., la reducció de la neu de primavera a tot l’hemisferi nord, l’augment del nivell del mar i la disminució de gel marí de l'Àrtic, el qual es forma cada cop mes tard a la tardor i es desfà més aviat a la primavera. Només en els últims 30 anys s’han perdut tres quartes parts de la capa flotant de gel de l’Àrtic, casa dels óssos polars, entre d’altres animals.La població d’óssos polars s’estima entre 22.000 i 31.000 exemplars en tot el món, fet que la qualifica d’espècie vulnerable. Aquest descens de la població és degut, principalment, a la seva dependència del gel marí de l’Àrtic per viatjar, aparellar-se, descansar i sobretot per alimentar-se, ja que la seva dieta està formada d’altres animals que habiten sobre les grans masses de gel, com les foques. Només els óssos polars que tenen accés continu al gel marí tenen la opció de caçar durant tot l’any, els que viuen en zones on es gel es desfà completament a l’estiu es veuen obligats a passar diversos mesos en petites superfícies terrestres on la dificultat per aconseguir aliments els porta a una situació critica. Aquesta il·lustració està realitzada en tècnica mixta, ja que els óssos estan realitzats un a un en aquarel·la i tinta negra, l'iceberg és un dibuix a llapis modificat digitalment i els fons són una base de gouache. Finalment per als tocs de color de l'iceberg he fet servir llapis de colors.

ESP || Estas son las ilustraciones que más os han gustado este año! La verdad es que me ha sorprendido un poco, sobretodo porque este año, tan lleno de contrastes, se me ha hecho infinito y ya no recordaba que algunas de estas ilustraciones las había hecho en el mes de febrero o marzo y no el año pasado...

ESP || Hoy y siempre libres y rebeldes! Juntas somos más fuertes! Vivimos en un mundo globalizado donde es innegable que el supuesto género de las personas genera desigualdades en todos los ámbitos de la vida: salud, educación, mercado laboral, lenguaje, amor, libertad y autonomía, arte, familia,... Podría citar cientos de estadísticas que ponen los pelos de punta y no dejan lugar a dudas de cómo hoy en día, aunque hayamos avanzado en muchos aspectos, aun nos queda mucho camino por recorrer para llegar a una igualdad real. Desgraciadamente últimamente solo se da visibilidad y se habla del feminismo la semana del 8 de marzo pero todas vivimos con ello todos los días del año. Por este motivo, este año he decidido dejar de lado las grandes referentes universales de feminismo y en cambio reconocer a mis amigas, que a pesar de nuestras diferencias somos compañeras de lucha. Vivim en un món globalitzat on és innegable que el suposat gènere de les persones genera desigualtats en tots els àmbits de la vida: salut, educació, mercat laboral, llenguatge, amor, llibertat i autonomia, art, família, ... Podria citar centenars d'estadístiques que posen els pèls de punta i no deixen cap dubte de com avui dia, tot i que haguem avançat en molts aspectes, encara ens queda molt camí per recórrer per arribar a una igualtat real. Malauradament últimament només es dóna visibilitat i es parla del feminisme la setmana del 8 de març però totes vivim amb aquest problema tots els dies de l'any. Per aquest motiu, aquest any he decidit deixar de banda les grans referents universals del feminisme i en canvi reconèixer a les meves amigues, que malgrat les nostres diferències som companyes de lluita. Ens veiem als carrers!

CAT || Mai m'ha agradat massa com va la llegenda del caballer sant jordi… La meva llegenda de Sant Jordi particular és la de la dragona Jordina que va llegir tants llibres que es va quedar dormida en un camp de rosers! Va tenir somnis preciosos on viatjava a terres llunyanes, coneixia animals salvatgement suaus i tothom reciclava molt! La cultura és un generador de somnis on tot és pot fer realitat! ESP || Mi leyenda de Sant Jordi es la de la dragona Jordina que leyó tantos libros que se quedó dormida en un campo de rosales!
